THE SUB 7 TOWER ANY% IS HERE. this was by far the most brutal grind i have ever experienced. this speedrun is so, so hard, with multiple borderline frame perfect movements and tricks. and to top it all off, the cursed thorn is possibly the most random run killer that could ever exist. i fully believe that this is the hardest platformer achievement accomplished in the game for now.
i thought this run was dead the moment i missed jcak cycle (the trick at the end of cellar) but i kept going for some reason. after hitting all of the tricks, i thought the boss would just kill my run again. but it didn't. i got really, really good luck by the end of the boss, enough to just barely get the record, which is absolutely insane considering i had a 2.5 second timeloss.
when i say this was a brutal grind, i mean it. i spent hours every day for the past week or so just trying over and over, losing multiple runs to the boss (including runs better than this one). i had the pressure of school coming up, i had the pressure of really wanting this achievement, i had the pressure of feeling like i wasn't gonna be able to do it. i borderline wanted to cry and quit from how much stress it was causing me. today i quite literally felt like i had a fever. i felt awful. and yet i still got up and streamed attempts today. and by some miracle, the boss blessed me and gave me this run. i feel relieved. i feel much much happier, and now i can rest and watch this speedrun grow.
