He tells the cyber man it does work and that he’s reversed the polarity so his weapon will fire at himself and the cyber man believes him so sends the reverse command/reverses the polarity to try and counter it which ends up with him just shooting himself. Does that make sense? I struggled wording this😂

The funny thing of the no wood setting, is often the Doctor is made fun of having a sonic screwdriver so he put cabinets together.
The panels of a cabinet are made of wood, the screws aren't, so it still checks out since all he needs to do is rotate the screws.
