I saw this in the theater when it came out. I loved it so much I just sat there and watched all the credits roll to the very end, just wishing there could be more, then Ferris came out and told ME to go home. I read that John Hughes put that end in to trick the audience. It was Ferris putting one more over on everybody. He said he imagined the audience getting up and being halfway to the door and then there was more movie. They would come back and it would be over. I didn't fall for it, I was waiting for it.
I grew up in Chicago and was about Ferris' age when the movie came out.
Our family dog we rescued in 2017 is named Ferris.

So funny about the ending. It was the first I ever saw of an end credit scene. Marvel has people used to them but it wasn’t so common. I remember watching every movie to the very end just to see if it was like Ferris Bueller’s Day off.

I love the movie too, and watched all the credits, and Ferris coming out to tell us it was over and to go home. I was 29 when it was released, and my then-husband and our friends wanted to watch another movie, so I saw Ferris on my own. My mini horse mare's 3rd colt is named Ferris. I named him. I sold him to a family with 2 girls, and they love him very much. (Jan Griffiths).

I do want to point out to Sir Paul (whom I do have respect for) that he can gripe all he wants about "Twist & Shout" and it sounding too "brassy", but it's not his song; it's not The Beatles' song; it's an Isley Brothers song. 2) compulsive gambler and lying stalker criminal towards his own parents plus others who should have went to classes in the secondary school
Especially since he shouldn't have affected his own sister nor ,Sloan
