@Oggatha Christie Except he wasn't a teen at the time, actually 24 at the time of the movie's release. But then, it was---and still is---a common practice in Hollywood. He's a huge talent at whatever age he was in any given movie. Stay safe.
He'd be great as well, as much as Broderick would be an interesting Marty McFly. I'm glad with what we got though.
Chicago is where everyone in school around where I live goes for a field trip because of the Museums. And that's about 4hrs away.
@Thomas Foley That's why the schools took us. But I'm told nowadays they don't take children to Chicago. I grew up before the Bush JR. Administration changed the way children are taught.
Visited there for 2 weeks in the early 90's. Came from a UK school background so school trips were not as exciting as the Chicago ones! I was so young and ill informed that the only thing I recognised from a movie was from the Blues Brothers! (I did go to a bank to have my GBP changed into dollars that I later recognised as the same bank Beverley withdraws her cash from in the novel 'It'. I hadn't read the book at the time I was actually there so couldn't have realised it was a real world location from famous fiction at the time.)
Another fact all of the main car license plates has other John Hughes movie titles on them
“A professional what?”
I adore John Hughes it’s beautiful to see how the city takes center stage in the movie. I’m a proud Chicagoan and happy you had visited Minty! 👍🏼
As a kid I always loved going to the Chicago art museum just so I could recreate ferris in my head 😂
And yes I totally went to the Sears tower and was bummed out when they wouldn't let me lean on the glass 😂
I remember it well , back in June of 1986 , I had just moved to Bozeman Montana, and got to see this movie on it's opening weekend...I remember thinking that it basically turned the typical standard Teen Movie on it's head, and set itself apart with it's very original screenplay. The movie was well loved by 99% of everyone who saw it back when it came out in the theaters. What a summer that was.
Putting aside recent movies including his movies in the last 15 years Robert Downey Jr could’ve pulled off being Ferris.
Both were actors who didn’t seem to age for many years.
RDjnr, was in Weird science, as a Douche, I think
@@TheRealKaiProton How dare you call RDjr a douche!
He was one in the movie though
What do you mean last 15 years of movies aside? Iron man was fucking sick. The second 2 weren't the best but certainly not the worst movies and he was great in avengers, especially endgame.
@@johnphantom Dammit Guys, I added coma's to try to move that comment to the way I meant, I dont even know the man, so why would I say hes a Douche, his Character in WS was a douche...
I wanna see the uncut version of this movie so bad 😍 they totally need to release this on blu-ray soon!!!
Minty: in case nobody has mentioned it, you should look at the Ferris Bueler/Fight Club theory.
He had an older video that discussed that theory, but i think it may have been taken down.
I think you should review "La Bamba", the story of Ritchie Valens.
Kindly explain or tell us something more about this theory.
@@rado3880 tl;dr version is that Ferris is Cameron's "Tyler Durden". Non-tl;dr version is MUCH better. Google it.
@@christopherthompson8609 wow ... mind blown
Alan Ruck turned 30 shortly after this movie premiered. It is like the "kids" from 90210.
Schmohawk Or Riverdale. Hasn’t the cast been in high school for like 15 seasons? And I don’t think they’re seniors yet.
Would you have guessed that Emilio Estivez, Ally Sheedy or Judd Nelson were already in their 20s when they did The Breakfast Club? If I didn’t already know by the time I got around to it, I would’ve been blown away.
The camera subtracts 10 years
Oh wow, I thought it was the other way around.
So it's ironic that they cast Mia Sara because they thought she was older than the 18 years she was-She was the only real teenager!
Wasn’t Ed Rooney the Dean of Students, rather than the Principal?
Top video as always, Minty!! Cheers!
Here’s one - What actual day did Ferris take off, and how do we know?
Answer: June 5, 1985
We know this because of the baseball game they attended, Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves. Cubs lost 4-2 that day BTW
"Um--- he's sick. My best friends' sisters' boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid whos' going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious."
Thank you Samone
@@LoNeWoLf6661000 She later becomes the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you didn't know.
@@LoNeWoLf6661000 no problem, whatsoever. 😂
Frye...
Frye...
This movie never gets old.
@@LoNeWoLf6661000 NO it does NOT!!! :D
Definitely in my top 10 favorite movies of all time!
I still remember seeing this movie in theaters as a child and watching through all of the credits as Mr. Rooney rode the bus! Great film!
My husband and I quote the gummy bear girl all the time! 😂
John Hughes had a certain genius about him. What else might he have produced had he lived longer?
I always look forward to your new videos. A lot of the time it’s for pure nostalgia (like this one) and sometimes you point me in the direction of a gem I missed. Thank you for what you do. I enjoy every second of it.
Couldn't. Click. Fast enough!!! Thank you for this series. Very entertaining and informative. Have a great week Minty.
I totally agree. Cameron's character arc has pivotal importance to the story. Alan Ruck was cheated (yes!) of even an Oscar nod for his brilliant, multi-faceted portrayal.
Great movie, love all of your reviews. The ending was epic
Danke Schoen Minty!!
There is a Simple Minds poster in Ferriss's bedroom. They did the soundtrack to The Breakfast club, ehich is also a John Hughs movie.
