Love it! Thanks for covering this incredible show! P.S. The house in suburban Albuquerque actually has a high fence around the entire property now. The owners got sick and tired of tourists just walking into their yard and throwing pizzas on the garage roof. I wonder if they regret letting their (real) house be an external for Walt's house (no idea how much they were paid for it).
This fact is why BB is my #1 show of all time. Somehow most series finales feel like they got a whole new set of writers and looses the essence of the show, but not BB.
@@RaffBuilding breaking bad is a top ten show imo (I have it number 8) I definitely agree it’s one of the few shows that gets better and better then ends on top. It’s a masterful series in every regard.
Most shows write themselves into a corner, and really have no realistic ability to wrap it all up cleanly. I won't say BB was perfect, but they really did manage to wrap up most loose ends. Except for the black guy still in the motel room LOL.

I have to agree with that. I can’t think of too many shows that maintained their intensity as consistently as Breaking Bad. There have certainly been plenty of really good shows over the years, but this one just kept one-upping itself all the way to the end.
I auditioned multiple times for several different characters along the run of the show, but had never seen it once. The writers sometimes had characters written in for story lines that never happened, and I got real close to being one of them, but unfortunately the story line was never written (Marie was going to cheat on Hank with a guy, which became a vengeance cause for Hank). I didn't watched the show until 2013 when they were filming the 2nd to last episode a block away from my rental house in Albuquerque, and I binged watched it for a week. I called the casting department and begged them to find any role I could fill, but they were already shooting the final episode. I never did book anything on that particular show, and it's one of life's "C'est la vie" regrets. Living in Albuquerque is somewhat like living in the show in the sense that the history of everything that was filmed is still here, and you're around it everyday. Shows like that only come around once in a very long time, and it's still here with us. Cheers Minty, always great work you do on these videos. I just watched it last year. It was fantastic, and one of the things that impressed me most was that every single episode ended on a fantastically compelling cliff-hanger. Great writing!
I binge watched this show from Season 1 to Season 5 in two weeks, and finished it just this Wednesday. The writing and character development is superb!
The unsliced pizza on the roof was not just for ease of production. It was in keeping with the ABQ universe that had already been introduced. At Jesse's house during a party, Jesse has his buddies order pizza. When it arrives...it is unsliced. I believe it was Badger who explains to Jesse "They don't slice it to pass the savings on to you!"
Happy birthday minty I love this show as it shows my disability cerebral palsy in a new light as Walter white jnr and the actor who portrays him both have cerebral palsy. I introduced this show to my brother and we both love it as we grew up watching Bryan Cranston as Hal in Malcom in the middle.
It was good that you covered Breaking bad. It was my favourite show at the time and I liked it so much I watched it many times. The actors were amazing.
Woohhhooo!!! Welcome to ABQ Minty!!! I didnt watch the show till after it ended. The cool thing I live very close to many of the filming locations!!! Skylar: Walt had a job offer from his best friend which came with health insurance - that he TURNED DOWN. His family would've been set for life, if Walt hadn't allowed his egotistical pride prevent him from actually helping his family. Skylar asked Walt for a divorce and he said no; she then thought that sleeping with Ted would get him to say yes to a divorce. It isn't cheating if you've already asked for the divorce
Thank you for covering Breaking Bad! What a great story, in addition I grew up in Albuquerque so it made the show extra fun for me as I recognized many landmarks from my childhood.
I used to live in Albuquerque. In fact, the car wash Walter was working at which he later wound up buying was on my route to work and I either walked past it or rode past in public transportation four or five days a week.
I love how you refer to Plemons as “not quite Matt Damon” as my first impression of the show when it came out was “who’s this not quite Justin Timberlake guy?” referring to Aaron Paul 😜
Great video, as always, Minty. I must admit that it took me a while to watch this series (I couldn't go past the first 4 episodes twice), maybe because I wasn't mentally prepared for the ride. But when I finally did, I have to say that it was a good thing it took me that long to watch it, because I ended up enjoying it more than I would've, if I had forced me to watch it. The characters are all really well written, and knowing that some of them were only supposed to show up in one or two episodes, before becoming recurring characters, due to just how much people loved them, tells you that you had a great team of writers they had in thw writing room. As for favourite characters, well mine's got to be Walter (big fan of Bryan's work), with second being Gus (Giancarlo portrayed one of the best crime lords ever... a true psychopath). Not much of a fan of Saul though (I always felt that Bob did a great work with the character, but the character always felt like if this took place in the real world, he would've been caught and arrested after his first embezzlement crrime, xD) As for the hatred towards Skylar, I know a lot of people hate Skylar, but I don't hate her (I mean, I love the actress who did a fantastic job). I just see her as a character that is like this person who doesn't understand just how deep her husband has gotten himself into that criminal world, and doesn't even try to understand it, believing that things work in the criminal world, as they do in the civilized world. In many ways, she's like the person who wants things to be as they were before. Also, may I suggest that you do a video about one of these two TV series next? Either The Dukes of Hazzard, or Sliders?
What I honestly find funny about Breaking Bad's casting of Bryan Cranston, is that there was an episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Hal is accused of being a drug dealer and as the cops raid the family's house, Reese comments, "You've been selling drugs this whole time and you wouldn't even buy us a DVD player?". 🤣
Awesome!!! I never thought u would do this one. I live in the heart of Albuquerque. I love ur videos. I love your editing. And the art u use in your videos is fire 🔥

I've seen the show all the way through at least 8 times and for the likes of me I can't remember the robot line but remember so much else. However, I'm sure like many are biased and cannot imagine the show any other way that what it is. That includes characters, actors, story and scenery. Succession 10. Sons of anarchy My honorable mentions are Black sails The Americans Attack on titan Sopranos Handmaids tale Stranger things Yellowstone Fargo Barry Mad men Better call Saul Bojack horseman Hannibal Invincible Ozark
One of the greatest written shows ever and definitely the best in the 21st century. This summer we went to Albuquerque and went to all the filming locations for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It was awesome. Definitely recommend to any fan!
John de Lancie was exceptional in his few episodes. I also loved how there were X-file twists that I didn't see coming. (Dark was like that too) I still have a crush on Gus. And I did feel for Anna Gunn - I can't believe how many people conflated her with the character she played. Boundaries, people...kind of like the pizza. Anyway, Minty, another really good episode. Thank you.
My wife and I went to Alburquerque NM last month, she went for business, picking up stuff for her store, I tagged along because I wanted to see all the locations from the show, and I did. They weren't lying about the lady living at the White house, there was a truck that passed by her house slowly and she already had her phone camera out recording and yelling. That was the only location we didn't get up close. All the other locations, I was able to see. Pollos/Twisters is smaller than I thought. The hotdogs from the Doghouse place are extra spicy.
I love this Tv Show...Knew the area where it was film as well. I heard that there was a thought of Breaking Bad 2 and his son was suppose to take over but I don't know if the plans was scrapped or not...What' s cool there's a place called "Candy Lady" (candy and homemade sweets)that sells blue candy to look like their product ..LOL!I have have some..Thank U for the video.
I didn't get into the show until long after its finale. I binged watched it on Netflix during the spring of 2016. Fell so hard into the show, that I watched all 62 episodes in just four days. 😆
Same here except I binge watched it in the fall of 2016. At work people were talking about for it's 5 year run, it but I never watched it. Then I retired and one day came across it on Netflix. I remembered everyone saying this was good. I watched the 1st episode and I was blown away It took over my life binge watching it to the end.
carston had a small role in babylon 5 he was a ranger that was given a mission to set up the shadows ...it was a terminal mission. it was also a role that showed his dramatic chops that really blew me away...
I love that Anthony Hopkins wrote a letter to Bryan Cranston, praising the show and the acting. Hopkins told Cranston that it was the best acting he'd ever seen.
I watched Breaking Bad and loved it, I had no idea Vince Gilligan wrote for X-Files until I started watching X-Files THIS year. During once episode I noticed Vince Gilligan pop up in the credits and got excited for the episode, of course it was good. Then I went and looked up all the episodes he was a part of and they are some of the best episodes in the series. I seen the one where Brian and Aaron where in so now this all makes sense. I only got into Breaking bad after about 5 seasons in because Mythbusters did an episode on it and I thought to myself, "this stuff is in a show? I got to see this" Fell in love with the show and was tortured because I binged watched it but had caught halfway to the last season and had to wait every week for the next episode to come out. When Better Call Saul came out I again was excited because I love Bob and I loved the character. I was surprised how many friends and family didn't like the character and refuse to watch the show. I would convince them to watch it because I told them it has some back stories to some of their other favorite BB character and of course once they started watching it they loved it.
PLEASE MINTY!!! Look into The Shield. It aired on FX 2002, Starring Michael Chiklis, Glenn close played a captain, Forrest Whittaker , Anthony Anderson was a drug dealer. Based on true LA cops gone bad. ❤
There’s Breaking Bad and then all shows that almost get to the heights that this show achieved. Best show of all time and I absolutely do not seeing another show take taking that crown any time soon. Ozark and Succession are two that get awfully darn close, though.
Sometimes I really felt for Walter, then I would take two steps back and think, “He’s making crystal meth!!!” Great vid, I agreed with you about the mixed emotions and ambiguous heros.
Hey Minty I went to college at the University of New Mexico and Albuquerque . I lived right behind the Denny’s across from campus where Walter White celebrates 50th birthday party breakfast. I’ve shopped at the convenience store where he goes into his “” fugue state. Gone four wheeling at 9 mile Hill, where they filmed some of the stuff outside of Albuquerque. I’ve gotten many times to Twisters and gotten their signature hurricane burrito, which was the stand-in for Los Pollos Hermanos. Amazing show my favorite of all time. Right up there with Sons of Anarchy.
Nice that’s a solid top five. Mine would be 1. The wire 2. Game of thrones 3. Six feet under 4. Mr robot 5. Dark I’ve got breaking bad at number 8, sopranos at 14, and mad men at 20
Fun fact there is a trilogy of italians comedy movies named "smetto quando voglio",that is a sort of italian breaking bad, the premise is the same a chemestry teacher that start to make drugs, and they are good movies

Need to watch this again, genuine masterpiece.
Your outfit would have been perfect with the addition of Heisenberg's hat. Love your content Minty.

I've watched it all the way through 5 times on Netflix it's an amazing show!
Being from Albuquerque I never watched this series But I'm glad it brang some positive recognition to the city!
One of the greatest written shows ever and definitely the best in the 21st century. This summer we went to Albuquerque and went to all the filming locations for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It was awesome. Definitely recommend to any fan!
Thank you Minty!! I’m going to watch the show all over again
People so shocked Walt let Jane die when she literally threatened to call the cops on him 😂
John de Lancie was exceptional in his few episodes. Thank you.
Great job on this one, Minty.
I’m sure a part II is on the distant horizon.
I still like the idea that Hal from Malcolm in the Middle and Walter from Breaking Bad are the same characters in that universe 😂✌️
Let's not forget Tim Watley, Jerry Seinfeld's dentist. He sniffed the nitrous oxide, probably where he first got into drugs.
@slake9727 haha, I didn't know that 😂👏
That part. It’s a fan Theory that Hal is Walter white in protective custody 😂
@@jeremiahallyn4603 have you seen the ep. of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' w him & Aaron Paul?
@@slake9727 let's not forget Steve Martin's dentist in Little Shop of Horrors tho
The pizza isn’t sliced because that’s the gimmick. Badger goes into it later in the series… it saves like a million minutes
TV Shows? Yes please.
Now time for you to do a Wentworth video. Loved that series
I'm a huge Laurel & Hardy fan, and I love the slapstick comedy bits between Walt and Jesse in scenes like "blowfish" and in the fly episode.
Aaron Paul and Dean Norris are UNBELIEVABLE. Amazing performances all around, but damn those two were superb.
Holy crap! Riverside, CA..? That’s my home town! I lived there for over 40 years. That would have been amazing if they had kept it set there.
Now this is an episode I didn’t expect.
10 Things to Backdraft would be much appreciated.
The vacuum repair guy is the ultimate gangster. More cautious than Gus, more professional etc.
Awesome video! Love that movie Wilder Napalm, where else do you get to see Dennis Quade as Biff the fire starting Clown
I was pretty excited to see this one... Thx Minty!
😂 I just started Re-watching BB two weeks ago.. thank you MINTY
Superb... that's a very perfect word to describe this show
bro, you gotta do Better Call Saul now! This was great!
My favorite TV show ever since I first saw the series premiere in 2008, love it 🥹
What a time for television that was
carston had a small role in babylon 5 he was a ranger that was given a mission to set up the shadows ...it was a terminal mission. it was also a role that showed his dramatic chops that really blew me away...
I love that Anthony Hopkins wrote a letter to Bryan Cranston, praising the show and the acting. Hopkins told Cranston that it was the best acting he'd ever seen.
Listen to Minty!! Dont go to that house with a pizza!! The resident is not having it!!😂
The Gus Fring story needs to be told. He was an amazing actor.
I think that pizza place(real location) serves it uncut thus why it was so in the episode.
PLEASE MINTY!!! Look into The Shield. It aired on FX 2002, Starring Michael Chiklis, Glenn close played a captain, Forrest Whittaker , Anthony Anderson was a drug dealer. Based on true LA cops gone bad. ❤
Best series of all time.
*the wire imo
There’s Breaking Bad and then all shows that almost get to the heights that this show achieved. Best show of all time and I absolutely do not seeing another show take taking that crown any time soon.
Ozark and Succession are two that get awfully darn close, though.
Sometimes I really felt for Walter, then I would take two steps back and think, “He’s making crystal meth!!!”
Great vid, I agreed with you about the mixed emotions and ambiguous heros.
Nice camera and wide-screen;)
Hey Minty
I went to college at the University of New Mexico and Albuquerque .
Best show in tv history!
Sopranos/Mad Men/The Wire/South Park round out my personal top 5
Nice that’s a solid top five. Mine would be
1. The wire
2. Game of thrones
3. Six feet under
4. Mr robot
5. Dark
I’ve got breaking bad at number 8, sopranos at 14, and mad men at 20
Happy birthday, Minty.
We love Breaking Bad
My husband looks JUST like Heisenberg. We have fun at comic con!
Fun fact there is a trilogy of italians comedy movies named "smetto quando voglio",that is a sort of italian breaking bad, the premise is the same a chemestry teacher that start to make drugs, and they are good movies
Not sure if should curse you or thank you cause you made me start watching the series again after you reminded me of everything that made it great
Minty another finest video..
Why don't you start, a "Shorts" talking about your views on on all the iconic characters, of films and TV. And what was iconic about them. Just a suggestion.
