wow. Why don't all psyches know this? The 'specialist' PTSD psyche I was assigned to kept 'telling' me to do this, do that...she never once acknowledged what I was saying. I felt twice as traumatised. Your videos are brilliant. Thank you for your work.

Had two PTSD specialist counselors, when they got frustrated with me they were often pushing drugs, one suggested an experimental procedure that was problematic. Decided I had enough experience working in psychiatric (and theatre, maybe especially experimental theatre), wasn’t going to even start with these crude drugs. Figured to just let the experience flow through, if it killed me that was OK, if I lived then that’s OK too. Never believed in death anyway, know that we are all eternal, yet respect those who for there experience of life choose to believe otherwise. We all have our creative answers to living with our realities.

I used to freeze up. No longer do. When my ex and I get an argument, I would freeze. One time, he got frustrated and shook me( not abusive like) saying, "TALK TO ME!".
I understand now that it came from the abusive childhood, which at the time I thought my childhood was normal.

I think cutting off from humans helps in healing processes. People make others feel like you need them but in reality you can become someone who doesnt need anybody by surviving alone , and when you can survive alone you will be able to heal yourself too. Everything else that people do is just drama and for clout or for money or they feel the need to do it because they experienced it themselves, because they are in different states of mind, some may not even understand or cater your needs etc etc. But all you need to know is that you can heal yourself. Time can heal everything.

      True story
I isolated myself for 6 weeks Healed whole body once our whole nervous system is back in equilibrium we're Healed on every level, and your right the body does in fact heal itself if you just let it.
It's interference from outside sources/people therapists ect that actively delay the bodies own rebalancing process, and in my experience those that truly want to heal DO HEAL, but some use the conditions for excuses so hang onto the condition because it serves them a purpose they're getting 'something' out of it that serves them & their agenda. So create a victim mentality all on their own & the Dr types love them because it's These types they make money off.
Trauma actually STRENGTHENS YOU It's designed to, we are also designed to withstand trauma grow stronger from it not weaker, but again all the Dr types need you to believe you NEED them to fix you that your too weak broken damaged to do it for yourself. Body heals itself it's designed to, if it's not then its the human delaying the process not the mind/body.
(These days trauma is extremely profitable to Dr types)
I run a whole centre and the clients need 2-3 visits maximum why because I give them the gift of STRENGTH STRENGTHENING WITHIN tell them how incredibly their minds/bodies truly are how STRONG they truly are, teach them breathing techniques yoga all to be able to do at home for themselves it's truly Empowering instead of Disempowering which is what others NEED to make people believe think about themselves to profit off them is the ONLY Reason 🤔

Ps before people jump on me
I had every child abuse you could name perpetrated upon me, left the family cut them all off
NO MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AT ALL
Was in an extremely violent abusive relationship that ended in him trying to murder myself our 2 children in a vicious knife attack NO MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
      I'm not an exception either
There are many like me which is why we need tell people our stories
Of surviving & THRIVING of a human beings STRENGTH how truly self sufficient self healing we truly are.
Dr types tell us the opposite for profit.
My Motto is stay away from Dr types because they'll kill you!
(Dr types also know how easily humans are manipulated by the Power of suggestion from a trusted source is & they use it against us all. Example you trust Drs we are taught to, so you BELIEVE everything they suggest to you without questioning it, you then believe what they tell you about you, you then become exactly as they're suggesting/telling you that you are, that's manipulating you for profits) 😮

You share a powerful message, but in the end people do need others, not to heal them or save them, but for genuine warmth and connection.
I have felt starved of connection, because I often seem to attract takers and controlling individuals and it is hell. I prefer being on my own, I just wish I knew how to find the right people. I feel like it would help my mental state too.

i start shaking when my cell phone rings, knowing i will have to talk. so i started missing calls. one by one. first, i would call back (days later), now i can't even do that.
i just want to be left alone. then again, i need someone. but not...anyone.
i have my "safe space" when i am alone with my dog.
and she is getting older...love her to death...meaning...

Have been in a dissociative fog for months. Now that I’ve got some distance I’m feeling the grief. I keep seeing that damn picture in my head. I’ve got a good trauma therapist doing body work and reframing. It was the most painful experience of my life. What I am getting from it is he being one who suffers from moderate to severe bpd truly does not have the ability to care, and can be very insensitive and mean-which I would consider what your ex did by posting that picture.
Sorry I think I’m going into codependent fix mode.

I have experienced this freeze as well and last weeks it has been loosing up a little. But yesterday I met my therapist and she lashed out at me two times. She misinterpreted some things I said and instantly got upset. And for me that is a big trigger. She also know how traumatising that is for me when she gets angry, but still she can’t seem to control her feelings.
Yesterday, to avoid conflict, I just had to be the big person in the situation. But it feels terrible that with my history, that I need to take care of my therapist feelings. She have told me that it’s something in me that provoke these behaviours in her. That she only have experienced it with a few people before, so it must be me. Just by writing this here I can feel my body starts to relax and the freeze response starts to let go. 😓
I think she have destroyed my life. (But also helped me with some stuff). But I need therapy and healing so that’s why I’m continuing. And also I have been aware for a time now that she has these traits.
Also yesterday she told me in therapy what I should do ”put your head like that”, ”do that” etc. For me that is traumatising as well. Because I don’t have any boundaries there.
It was the same experience the therapy session last week. Where she started to question my feelings. I have a destructive pattern where I get super arousal and can’t stop myself. And take on too much work etc. But she thought that was something good that I do so much work etc. Although she know I’m on sick leave beacuse I got burned out. She still said over and over again how that is something good and didn’t want to accept when I said how destructive that is for me.
It’s really confusing when your therpist makes everything worse and do things like this. I’m not sure what to do and have already made distance from the therpay with less appointments. But I’m afraid if I leave I won’t find or get any new help.
I think I had to let this out from my chest because I can feel my whole body again relax and different sensations.
She helps me with my trauma in some way, but also she makes my trauma worse.

I understand your desire to keep going with your therapist, maybe your options for alternative therapy are limited but know that it does not sound like a healthy relationship and you'd do well to seek out a new therapist. I had a similar experience with a pyschodynamic therapist who denied me basic comfort like a glass of water during therapy, then guilt tripped me when I asked for one, as well as displaying many other red flags. She tried to tie me down with a 4 session 'notice period' before I left. Well, sod that. Only regret is that I didn't submit a complaint about her. It really affected my trust in therapists haven't felt - I haven't felt confident about finding another therapist since.

I’d be interested in hearing thoughts on this idea of social engagement to regulate along with having co-dependency issues. How does one deal with both? Or the social engagement and people who are alone. How does one regulate without connection? I don’t mean specific approaches but the experience of having to deal with that or deeper solutions under those conditions.

I'm in a constant freeze'respons. Already learned it's due to the amygdala not being able to know the difference between being in a real life'threatening situation or you're experiencing overloads of life'stressors and or traumas. In my case it's both..but knowing the why..is not helping me getting out of it. Only know 1'st (baby) step.. to aply when you're someone who's not able to get out of bed, for example (not my issue, but it's about what to do in tiny steps). If you're that person, you need to sit up in bed and do nothing more..but just celebrate that baby'step excesively (like you've won an Olympic Medaillon..or something simulair)..so dopamine gets into the brain and by having thàt..the amygdala, so to speak, thinks.. 'Hold on, this person is in a life'threatening situation, so dopamine shouldn't be present cause thàt would lead to certain death'. This is how far I am where it comes to trying to learn to get out of this constant (subconsions) freeze'respons. Can you give me any more 'tools' plsss..cause it has a grip on my whole every day'life and friends have tried to motivate me, help me etc , but it only makes it worse, cause eventhough I want to accept their help, to them it looks like I'm lazy or not willing to recieve any help..which now caused me living in total isolation. I'm at my end here..frustrated to the bone knowing it's the freeze'respons, but not knowing how to grt myself out of it so I can really live again. Sorry for my long reaction/taking so much room in the reactions..I just feel so hopeless and misunderstood. Greetings from Carmen, from The Netherlands. 😞😥😴🙏🏻❤️

P.s. at age 37 I got diagnosed Emotion Regulation Disorder, aka BPD, and for checking in to a therapy'group for 5 months intern..at the intake'form the man who asked me to tell my life'story, he wrote 'heavily traumatised '..which I truly thought was heavily exxagerated...cause millions and milions of children had a way worse childhood, so it , to me, felt like..'hûh, come again... are you for real'... but in the end it was about me as an individual. 🙏🏻

Thank you for the video. I have a question about the trauma from narcissistic abuse. Which means that trauma still happens especially if you have a narcissistic parent. And leads to fobia for school, fobia for people. I assume a freeze response playing here, blockinf you for opening to people (maybe the Threat system is too dominant?). I would like to ask you how do you look at this and if you have any recommendation for other resources. Thank you.

I had a very traumatic experience and experienced this freeze response. It took me a long time to come out of it and i did when someone was trying to comfort me but then the reoccuring flashes of the event sent me back and i could get out again. Everything you describes happened to me. The out of body experience. The inability to communocate or to respond to verbal communication. It took me a few days and then a few weeks to get out of it and then i had to deal with afterwards with what had happened. I hate this response because if something bad happens again I dont want to freeze i want to move and act so i can protect those i need too. Is there a way to not freeze and just have the fight or flight response. 😢
