Honestly I prefer hooking their tail area so it doesn’t hurt them as much and hopefully when I get a bite they won’t feel pain honestly I feel bad for the fishes we use for live bait
You don’t need to worry because they do not feel pain like we do, they only feel pressure which is what they call conscious pain. So fish on my friend.
Lately I have been hooking them under the chin out the top of the bone in the nostril. They stay on good don’t die and no pesky double hook making them spin when I’m bottom fishing 250 ft down
Belly? Great way of killing them. You know some anglers out there just give you the wrong information to fish. This is one of them. Nose hook yes belly no way!!
We catch hundreds of fish this way. Literally. The bait isn't alive long enough to die from a hooking in the meat. Yes a nose hook will keep them alive longer. But we go through hundreds at a time. So if it and when it dies, we just out a new one on. No tricks here. Nose hooking works. Belly hooks works to. I use belly hooks a more then nose hooking
Straight though the top of the back that still swim well and they live for quite a while ……..hooking it through the belly is just terrible the fish is t going to swim very well it’s it’s gonna die lots faster it’s crueler for the fish and just unnecessary and I think hooking it though the head/lip would lose quite a lot of fish and it really can’t swim freely and it’s gonna die faster
The nostril by far is the best place to hook it for survival of the fish. And cruel.? We already abducted this bait and plan on killing it violently to a bigger fish.
It's been my experience that a belly injured fish doesn't live as long as fish hooked in other parts of it's body.
Totally true. Usually where I'm throwing them, they don't have long to live regardless.
@@Fishnfl1 I see. Thanks for the explanation.
Nice? what kind of fish is this?
I usually would hook in the back
yup through the back near the head at a angle so the tip of the hook doesn’t turn back into the bait

bro we are literally feeding them to bigger fish 😂😂

Feel bad for em to I prefer to hook em so they don’t die if they don’t end up eaten

@davidploiphad4372 how do you know that for sure? Have you asked them? Lol
Greenbacks = fish candy. Always thru the nostril for me unless I’m starting to get into them deep; through the belly! And hang on!
Do you do it through the back of the tail?
yes you can.
Greenbacks i typically double hookem and i catch big fish.
Please don't hook your live bait in the belly. It won't be live for very long.
They’re getting eaten in 20 seconds anyways
Exactly
The belly imma have to try that. I bank fish so I sling alot off lol
ong or it smacks the water and comes off the hook

That works well to.
Hook them through the tail
Can you fish with a Live Betta
not sure thats legal.
In the mouth out the gills then through the top of the back! You won’t puncture any organs allowing you to catch more than one fish with a minnow
One bite one bait on my boat.
@@Fishnfl1 i respect it !just a money saver for those who cant afford a bunch of minnows

That one Karen be like "ANIMAL ABUSE"😂
YEP!
If "abusing" animals will feed me I'm all for it
It is, in Germany for example it’s illegal to use live bait, and that’s good
There’s no reason to torture this animal..
@@patriotv3747 wack, God created animals for us to rule over. To eat, use as bait etc.

I dont agree at all
You're missing out!
Its so disgusting what you do Putting a live bait on a Hook thats so Bad.
It really is, all humans ever do is destroy there are very few humans who create
I create delicious food out of the fish I destroy. Soo there’s that!
Cuz I ain't tryna loose my 2 dollar lure
Wrong
