Hi Cee! Congratulations on getting you another surger! That is a very popular serger. My serger sat in the box for 2 years before I stated using it. There are great videos on how to thread your surger that I highly suggest you watch on RUclips before you need to reread your machine.
i have a 1034D. it is very easy to thread and maintain. so take a deep breath and watch utube there are lots of instructions. if i can do it i know you can. i love mine
I have Brother products and when I can’t find something on their website or here on RUclips, I call them. They may walk you through threading the machine. 😊
You got this! 💪 I have the same overlocker, my first one ever, bought it just a month ago. I love it… so far. In the last month I have finished seams on one woven top and I sewed a full knit top. The T-bar in the back stays up on its own when you pull all the way up. Just pull it up up up until it clicks. When you are done for the day and you want to put the cover on, just gently press down on the T-bar to lower it so the cover fits.

I have a Janome serger and I really dislike threading the first thread. I hear the Brother 1034 is easier to thread. Honestly thinking of transitioning from my Janome to Brother.
You mentioned about your dull scissors -- here's a helpful link to a video on how to sharpen them. ( ruclips.net/video/GB3xXjJiiDI/видео.html) And also I believe he may also advise on how to sharpen pinking shears or other specialty edge scissors. I have 2 pair of good Henckels scissors (1 larger & 1 smaller pair) and the larger pair was getting dull and a problem to cut fabric well. After watching that video, I was able to get a sharp edge and now it is a pleasure to use them again. Hope that helps! And I know you will enjoy your new serger - the brother model is very good and after viewing other videos on it, threading seems so easy compared to other models.

FYI if u didn’t know. Hobby Lobby has all New Look patterns on clearance for 99 cents. I’ve been to 2 HL; got 38 patterns.
