In private Ryan when they burned the Germans in the bunkers in Normandy they said, “Let those bastards burn!” So maybe that’s what you where thinking of
I used to be a Civil War reenact-or we didn’t get to do a lot of “shoot and scoot” it was fun watching your team move in smaller groups. Seeing that guy land backwards in the trench that wasn’t acting that was weight and gravity 😂
That’s true unless you’re part of a “Picket line” some time when you read soldiers memoirs or Officers accounts you will find the phrase “we drove of the pickets”.
I'm the MG42 gunner in the thumbnail. The funny thing is that the bunker roof being sloped like how it is made the space really tight. My unit built it before I brought my MG-42 and laffette mount (I came up on Friday morning because I worked on Thursday) so it was a major pain in the ass to put into there. It didn't fit in there so I had to take the stock off while it was in the mount and it was so tight I couldn't lift the top cover up fully. It managed to work and I was glad I was able to terrorize you guys on Friday and Saturday during the beach battle. The other downside of that sloped bunker roof is that there weren't too many pictures of me, but thankfully they had a photographer in our bunker so there's at least a couple pictures of me on the D-Day site. I also commented on the Echoes of the Past Saturday Beach Battle since his unit was directed in front of us there.

I'm in texas just too young I love history and would pay any amount to do this but is this real guns? Never mind it's just bb or pellet but the guns are like $5000 and a stein gun I found was listed for $6490
i also had a feeling friday was more energetic. i think since the weather was similar to the actual thing everybody just locked in and saw it less as a reenactment.
I always wonder if there was another period in time you ever wanted to reenact? Just curious really. Thanks for sharing all these cool facts about both history and reenactment
12:17 imagine being in a reenactment and meet world war wisdom mid battle and get taught a quick lesson😅, what an honor. 😆 Edit: few minutes later, did I just witness the same guy die in battle 😭
im 15 and im really into ww2 i used to play army as a kid and use plastic armys you have inspired me so much that when im older im going to travel to the usa from aus to par take in these reenactments.
Very cool. Keep doing what you do. How else would we learn. You Tube needs to chill. This is just a history lesson done in the best way possible. Great work by both sides.👍😁
Since I am a bit of a military and history nerd, this would actually be beneficial to creating a strong population that can be extremely efficient in combat, due to the fact that they already have first hand experience of what combat would look like (Granted bullets arent firing, but learning the order in the chaos is valuable). Not only would they know how to act in combat, but also how you must stay calm within the chaos. Now granted situations will be different, but it still would be better compared to someone who has never been in such a chaotic battlefield.
As a guy living near the actual Omaha Beach here in france, it looks nothing like it 🥺😐😣 , thanks for making history alive anyways for the people that cannot go so far for a visit
Hi, do you use a real M1 Garand which is modified to shoot just blanks? I am wondering if i should get one of these for reenacting or just a Denix replica.
hiii i just came across your channel and i love your channel and i just wanna say great job and im wondering how to get into the reenactment stuff and if i have to buy the gear or what i needa do and where i can go to get the stuff
I’ve never been or seen a reenactment but I find them really interesting can anyone tell me how the people know they are getting hit since they are using blanks and there is no projectile coming out of the gun
I bought a spot to do this last year but I backed out last minute because I was worried the veterns of re-enactments was gonna give me a hard time about something. Where do I go for the first time, what unit do I join? What if I don’t know exact lingo? There is so many things I’m worried about. I almost feel like a replacement even thinking about it. I really want to go to one some day but I have no idea where to even start. Of course I have the firearm, blanks and blank adapters and uniforms but once I get there, I don’t know anybody so what do I do? What will happen if I’m not up to date on WW2 lingo? What will happen if I don’t call the NCO the correct military name? What happens when I’m assigned to a unit that has been doing reenacting for years and they don’t want me there because I’m a burden to their experience? Will they take me in with open arms and teach me the things I need to learn or will they give me a hard time because they have to babysit me? I’m 27 and shouldn’t have to feel this way but I do. I’m confident at everything in life but whenever I do something new, it makes me nervous as heck. Could you do a video discussing these things? It would really help people like me get over that fear of going to the first WW2 reenactment.
You just described what your grandparents felt in 1944 and we do today as reenactors for the first time,,,then when the event is over, you are a reenactor veteran

Part of that being that the civil war (to my understanding, correct me if I’m wrong) was mostly line battles.

Are the weapons live? Is that why everyone’s saying don’t shoot over the berm? Fucken wild dude, new sub!
If you mean with real bullets, then no, they’re using blanks.
Blanks can be lethal close range so that’s why if one of them in the trench pop their head up they don’t wanna get them hit
