Dubrov reveals the true genius of Mussorgsky. This piece is I've of the most powerful pieces of music I've ever heard when played by an orchestra. Mussorgsky only ever heard it on piano. The sounds, music, and emotion to come from the instrument from the team of Mussorgsky and Dubrov are wondrous.

I could write for days about things I like, and dislike.. Bad News First: too much pedal in my opinion. Articulation can be improved with lifting extension exercises in some places. Good News: I Love most of the timing, but really, especially, the sense of urgency, to get to a wonderful place. Then, we see this place. - I personally think, if Andrei had significant time to familiarize himself with this Fazioli model, and its full dynamic range, it would be much different .. but that is what makes competition fun. But ... seriously ... very accurate memorization! (but you can only hear what the microphones will let your speakers hear)

@@bm4114 it’s called a critique. I guarantee you someone like the person in the video is used to getting them and doesn’t act like a petulant child when someone isn’t fanboying over every note he plays. Critiques are how one improves.

      Wikipedia:
"Night on Bald Mountain (Russian: Ночьна лысой горе, romanized: Noch′ na lysoy gore), also known as Night on the Bare Mountain"
      Britannica:
"Night on Bald Mountain, Russian Noch na lysoy gore, also called Night on Bare Mountain"
      Hollywood bowl:
"St. John’s Eve on the Bare Mountain"
Classical FM also refers to it as bald/bare.
I'm assuming that the only reason that it is named this way is likely because they are just two different translations of the same original Russian word, but I mean it isn't a big deal because it means the same thing in this context. But yes, the main name is, of course, "Bald Mountain." "Bare" is another name it is commonly referred to. At least, according to these sources.

@@moldychez5429 Ah, yes! It makes sense now. Since the languages differ, the translation can get mixed up seeing as the English translation can go both ways. I can compare it to trying to explain foreign foul language with some things. Sometimes there IS no “exact” translation. Thanks for the info! Have a good day 👏
