Thx Mike , this helps a lot. Was hitting the bag way to hard and stopped using it in my exercise routine, it was flying all over the place. Both your double end bag videos helped a lot. I owe you again :)
I think that thedouble-ended bag has become my favorite mode of training as I've gotten older. It’s the type of workout that you can do every day and not be too sore afterwards. I also find tracking the bag and continuously making contact with it really does help the time fly… glad you like it : )
I just want to tell you how much I have enjoyed all of the videos you have posted.Your info is always clear and helpful to me.Thanks, Mike! I feel like I owe you a debt.
Great work out! develop skill and coordination. Get a gopro to film your workout to see if you are developing bad habits. Mr Everlast has a habit of dropping the left glove prior to a left hook or left jab. An opponent can get used to that and know a left is coming and either defend or counter with a right hook to a wide open left side.
Thanks for commenting; And you are absolutely right, recording your self is an awesome tool. And you have a great eye. I recorded this video not too long after badly tearing my lead shoulder. I was still able to keep the lead shoulder high which is the most important thing, but my lead hand would often come down (As you can see) before and after the punch. Even once my shoulder had healed, i still then had this bad habit (which i didn't have previously) . It took these videos to really hit home the point that my left was dropping and so i want to thank you for recommending to people to try filming themselves because it really does help... and as you will notice in more recent videos like the shadow boxing one ect. that the problem was fixed (but i might never have noticed it without the video) So once again i thank you for recommending that awesome tip about filming yourself because you may have helped other people out there. Cheers : )
this video series has been a tremendous help, but after a year of this double end bag, i'm feeling stagnant. I really like the 10 round format, any chance of a next level routine?
Thank you so much for watching all of the videos.. I definitely want to do some updated videos with some new routines. I just need to schedule the time to film them all.. hopefully I’ll be able to get to it soon. thanks again for watching😎😎😎
Great video, I just got one... as a beginner i was trying to smash it with every punch lol. Ill do The beginner routine you made for a while 1st... then ill try and smash it some more :P
Great question, We are going to put together a video all about boxing combinations shortly, in the meantime, you can throw any punches that come to mind but i wouldn't advise throw uppercuts on a double ended bag : )
Hi, why can't you throw uppercuts on a double-end bag? I do it all the time, that's one of its advantages over the heavybag where you can't because of its shape.
Thanks for commenting You are right, you definitely could throw uppercuts on the double-ended bag but I usually don't advise it to people just starting out. You may be more advanced and won't catch your gloves against the bottom attachments, or you won't throw powerful uppercuts that could extend the bottom bungee in the upward direction and break the bag.
Many thanks for your reply. Yes, the double-end bag I have has vertical straps just above and below the bag so that it doesn't damage your gloves if you are off target.
Wrap your hands.... For a double end.... Ya maybe if I just took my gloves off from my heavy bag work. Otherwise I just use speed bag slip on's or mma gloves. And this is more of an intermediate routine
Mate, no disrespect here but this hardly counts as 'advanced'. Maybe if you put some speed on those punches, used advanced footwork, maybe used better form to achieve more powerful shots and added in some rounds of freestyle, you could say it was advanced. These are just basic drills. You're also telegraphing your left jab as well by dropping it and then throwing it. If the aim is for a good cardio session, then this is fine although you look slow, which I'm sure you're not. I know this is a demonstration, so you can't do the whole video at 100% because the bag will just be a blur but I'd like to see a different version of this, with the slow technique mixed with speed and the mayhem and fun that it leads to.
Thanks for commenting; And you are absolutely right, this is still a beginner's routine yet it is advanced for a beginner as far as it being a little more taxing on the cardiovascular system than most people are used to. For guys that are used to the double-ended bag, this like you mentioned isn't all that difficult. I will definitely do some better routines in the near future where I won't be using this type of white background as it really limits the movement around the bag.
Leandros Amarantidis I took this video as reference m.ruclips.net/video/iCvlWiM6Ocw/видео.html and It only cost me 10$ over all and it isn’t so bad, al least it serves its purpose! This is because I couldn’t find one so I had to be creative
@@LeandrosAmarantidis I got my first one recently which was a cheap one off Amazon too but it's an amazing tool and great cardio so I'm pretty pleased with it. Hope you enjoy it bro, definitely not disappointed. Cheap or not
safety first, wrap your hands and put on gloves.... weird how TMAs don't wrap their hands or wear gloves with wrist support and manage to avoid boxer's breaks and wrist injuries when punching things hard than a punching bag...maybe learning to properly make a fist and alignment should be the safety brief instead...
If someone is a beginner and is trying to learn is better if they get the habit of wrapping up their hands properly, as anyone just starting is bound to have a bad/improper form, so making sure they are safley prepared before any striking activity is always nice even if the double end bag is really soft. Beginners should wrap their hands even if they are just shadowboxing.
That is my advice as well. Always wrap your hands. I’ve train in the gym with the best MMA fighters in the world. They all wrap their hands before training. There is no point risking an injury that could sideline your training. It’s better to be save than sorry.
@@fightyourwayfit it's not a risk to training if you learn to punch properly...it's amazing how we don't hear about rampant hand and wrist injuries in say...kyokushin for example...a full contact striking sport that does not use any wrist supports

I was out on “remember to circle the bag in both directions..so you don’t get dizzy.” Lmfao!!!😂
Can you do work out example with maze bag?
Definitely, it is already on my to-do list :)
Everlast Nutrition can I use the above work out for the reflex bag?
The reflex bag moves in a similar pattern do the double ended bag and so i can't see why you couldn't do the same routine using the reflex bag.
What do you use to secure the bungee cords?
Hooks
any other combinations? :)
