    I used to shop & hangout at Arnold and Morgan's music store in Garland Tx. in the 70's & 80's. Jerry Cantrell was working there in '85 I believe, before he quit and moved back to Tacoma, Washington and helped form Alice in Chains a few years later. I bought all of my guitars from salesmen Jimmy Wallace & Dan Haubrick. Wallace had me on his guest list back then so I got to see Jimmy's band, Lynx free in local clubs in Dallas. • @billgibbons6925

    Here's the whole story about the 59 burst. Joe owned it thru the 1970's and when he divorced his 1st wife in the early 1980's, she got alot of his gear. One piece of gear was this 59. She then sold it to Eric Johnson. He kept it awhile and then sold it to Slash. Years later Joe Perry asks Slash would he sell it back to Joe and Slash wouldnt. Joe said it started being a problem between the 2 because he would always mention the guitar when he was around Slash. So on Joe's 50th birthday they threw him a party. Joe was onstage playing with Cheap Trick when Slash walks out unannounced and presents Joe with the guitar. Joe tells the story on Conan O'Brien's show and the clip of Slash giving him the guitar is on youtube.

Not bc it was valuable but bc it was used on the 1st few aerosmith albums! Joe Perry begged and begged slash to sell it back to him for years, so its is cool slash just gave it back to him bc its could probably fetch a million or more at the right auction. Sweet emotion, dream on was recorded with that very guitar so ya... its a major piece of great music rock n roll history! And that bring real money at auctions and privet sales.

      He definitely owned one. I am lucky enough to have gotten a '68 tobacco sunburst ES- 330 back in 1979 in an equal trade for a 50's Kay Acoustic guitar my dad owned. My dads acoustic was worth about $50.00.

      Think of it this way - it's like a pretty girl who doesn't put out. It's a waste in the cosmic sense. This guitar had one specific person, a friend of Slash, who really wanted it. It's better for the guitar to be played. Slash didn't like to play this one so it was being wasted.

      Agree no mix and they're strung out back then Stevens voice is off Joe's out of tune I think Tom Hamilton sounded ok if they fix the mix I love Smith I seen them in 88 with guns for permanent vacation they kicked ass at that time

      As a young Aerosmith fan I thought it was great. I couldn’t play or even tune a guitar back then.

      Dennis Schell I read Jimmy page gave slash a hard time over Joe's 59 and said it should go to it's rightful owner.it took the fucker long enough to hand it over back to Joe!

    • @boppah
      @boppah 6 лет назад

      Bullcrap, Slash was the rightful owner. He bought it, Perry sold it. It is a big gesture that he gave it to Perry.

      @@uplaywithfire7564 woh dude he didn't have to give it back to Joe at all.it was legally his guitar!and I don't know about this Jimmy page story.but if it's true and u was slash I would certainly tell page to mind his own buisness.
