they probably thought james messed up and the windows were misplaced. they didnt notice he used platforms and the floors were at a different height. and they matched the windows to the floor instead of the ceiling. but idk if thats what happened. still dumb and terrible tho

This does look like the first expansion pack that is actually worth 40 dollars in a long time but I do have to wonder how much longer are they going to keep supporting this game before they move on to the next game

As an artist I can relate. I am never satisfied with my work but then I’m always praising my friends. Then we fight over who did better. 🤣🤣

I love how all the other creators involved in this showed all their builds in one video, but James is like, "Naw, I'm gonna milk this for everything it's worth" 😆😆

I still love how we’re able to see the first idea and then the differences to the final thing. I kinda miss that in the other videos and through these videos James really can show and talk about all the details.

The fact that they got simmers to do the builds for this pack is honestly going to be one of the main reasons I buy this pack ASAP.
I don’t preorder packs. I just don’t. It’s usually not worth it because I really want to see the content before buying it. This was the exception.

I was literally telling my boyfriend its great that the Sims team has “EA Game changers” building the lots so we don’t have windows that are misaligned. WELP. It wouldn’t be the Sims if there wasn’t wacky windows.

Meanwhile I’m over here like: “OMG THIS IS AMAZING, it looks so good! It’s so fancy and clean-looking, just perfect.” 👌🏻

I just LOVE seeing James this excited! He did a good thing making multiple videos showing the lots sharing his excitement and experience with us. I also love his build style since IRL I don't like pre-decorated or cluttered houses so when I play sims I would rather decorate as the story progresses. The others did amazing as well but I'm most excited to play on James' lots 😊
EA was like “well we can’t have all the lots have no mistakes....move James’ window!”
I am beyond excited about this! I think it's so cool that they recruited the 4 of you to build the lots in this world and I really hope they recruit players again in the future to do the builds or maybe even some of the new townies!
I truly hope with how excited you are about this pack and the places you built, you play it for a long time. I wish game changers who get excited about these packs and hype them up, really believed what they were putting out. Play the pack longer than a month or so and really show that it's worth people's money since you get yours for free.
Really happy they got the colours of winter right this time. The sky colour looks suitably cold, for example
I’ve watched almost all the creators show off their builds for this expansion pack, and it’s soooo fascinating to hear them talk about their builds and their thought process. 4 truly amazing simmers!!!!!!
At this point, it is actually impressive how EA manages to mess a build EVEN WHEN THEY DID NOT BUILD IT. That has to be a superpower.
I love watching all these videos and seeing how authentically proud all of the builders are of their work, it really shows how much effort and passion went into them.
I really like the hallway connection to the master bedroom. It gives the house an interesting shape. Really excited for these builds.
Never underestimate your building skills. Some of your houses are the best builds I think I’ve ever seen (and I watch all the regular sims RUclipsrs) - you have an incredible knack of making something look so realistic and flow nicely without using an incredible amount of cheats or anything, and they’re always actually playable houses which matters to me.
Now I can finally do my Japanese builds! Thank god. I am going to buy this pack because these 4 worked on the builds.
The way you built the land up makes it look like the snow is piled up around the house. It looks super cool 👍
I’m way more excited about this pack now that I know all the lots we’re not built by EA lol. Also a hugeeee plus that it’s Japanese inspired. Since I live in Japan, definitely true that a lot of houses have the toilets separate from the bath. My apartment is set up like that. The entrance also has a raised step (it’s the genkan) & all my shoes are kept there. Too bad they only have the high tech toilet and not a squat toilet too lol. That would be a riot for sure. Or a “weighted” toilet like my apartment has - it does exactly that. When the flap is weighed down enough... it “flushes” xD;; also... if it’s a mountainous area, we definitely get a ton of bugs. Huge ones too. Too bad they didn’t add in gigantic huntsman spiders or slugs that come out of your pipes xD. So fun to see they added in onsens though!! The sims should be completely naked though & should NOT be wearing swimsuits though. Hoping wicked whims fixes this or another mod. Loving these previews though!!
Yes I was also disappointed to see that sims used clothing/swimsuits inside the onsen. They wouldn’t even have to add in the pixelization since the Actual hot spring goes to their shoulder in the sims. Although when I do play this pack in this world I have a desperate swimsuit for my female sims that has no sort of straps so it’s feel more realistic
I love how you thought of the little details that will make playing with the build fun. I wish they had done this with earlier packs. I am stoked for this pack mainly because of my favorite simmers builds.
James: Y'all know I never miss align windows in the Sims 4, so I'm going to prove to y'all that It was their fault and not mine. Im not getting blamed for Windows being miss aligned.
But also I dont blame him i wouldnt want ppl thinking I didnt align windows either. When they arent align you can really tell on the outside of the build. Also great build as always James.

This would be the perfect pack to use the Sauna from Spa Day. (I know you were limited to Base Game and Snowy Escape in this build)

Love it! Love how its your own private little village. Love the woodiness of Japanese architecture. Was kinda surpeised by a dinning room table versus floor seating

i am a person who loves architecture - and traditional japanese is definitely one of my favorite types. seeing this lot alone makes me genuinely want to buy this pack when it comes out. i havent been excited for a pack in AGES, but this makes me so genuinely excited.

I have to say, as someone who has visited Japan a lot, and stayed in quite a few ryokans, this looks incredible. I would not be surprised if I went to northern Japan and saw a house or ryokan just like this.
Congrats to you all for getting your builds made as the "default" builds for the pack instead of the plain EA build. That has to be so exciting for ya'll!

So many ideas, I think the only times I was this excited were the updates to the stairs, the ladders and the most recent window and door update! I could squeal so hard right now!❤

This ones my favourite of your builds. Your strength is interesting architecture. Your builds always look awesome on the map
It looks marvelous. You've all managed simple, uncluttered designs. But your builds actually have character. The house is on point for the style. The layout is detailed, while flowing together elegantly. I'm glad you put the little gazebo in the front, versus the back, where it would be looking at the big wall. The terrain editing really sets it off and adds a lot of interest. James, when you get on a building roll, your skills really get sharpened. Do you and Deli give each other tips/feedback? I imagine that would be a perk, heehee, for you guys, and us. 😉
My question to Maxis is----WHY didn't this happen three years ago??
This pack looks to be almost worth a preorder. If the overall game wasn't so buggy, I would do it. I've vowed not to do any more preorders until they get that ironed out more, just as a matter of principle.
I saw you trying to put stairs up to a platform, then up to the next level, but that didn't seem to work? I was just wondering if we could make bigger landings than the stairs allow now. Or if you can simply have stairs going up to a platform and up or down in another spot on it. I would assume you can. Are the platforms going to be in the Patch? I think they should be.

That is a well built rental! 😍 👍 EA could never. It was a brilliant idea for them to get GCs to do their prebuilds this time around. Hope they keep that up.
I really wish when they gave you resources they explained some of the traditional features better (genkan, seperate toilets, kotatsu, tatami, onsen, etc), the builds you guys did and the pack as a whole looks so good but it's been a bit disappointing seeing you guys struggle around build/buy stuff you don't understand when it would have been a great way to share why those cultural details exist and what they are for, since they chose non-asian builders.
well i definitely think that the only reason they chose these simmers is for marketing. even though i absolutely love james's work its kind of disappointing how there are no asian representatives or hardly any cultural spirit in this world :(

i seriously do like the way this one looks. in fact, i'm planning on copying it and turning the copy into a residence for a japanese family that already exists in my game. only problem is figuring out what lot that's going on
also, the lounge is absolutely becoming a karaoke bar. it just seems needed and only needs very, very minor changes. i really do enjoy how you did that lounge and agree with everything you'd said in the video about it yesterday
can't wait to play this! Whoever decided to let these four make the lots and show them off before launch is a marketing genius. Everyone is excited about this new pack now.

I think James' builds are turning out to be my favourite! Although, Simlicy's rental lot next door was really impressive as well! I love that both James and Dawn used terrain manipulation for their rental homes on the snowy mountain.

These builds are amazing James! I hope this is a change EA is going to be making because it seems so much better than the quality of builds we normally see in the sims!
A pond in that central courtyard and under the house would be great!
There are both rentals and permanent homes around the skiing resort that I live 10min from(a mountain!) so that's not strange at all, imho. There are also rental apartments/rooms just a minute from my apartment here in the tiny village I live in just for the resort/tourism.
James, another terrific build. It looks beautiful. Can't wait until this pack is released so I can go and visit there. You rock!
Love that you used the terrain tool! I've been wanting to see a build that reflects a lot of the mountain homes I've been to. I don't think this lot would necessarily work for it, but many of them have a sort of basement? So on the side facing towards the peak of the mountain, it's completely underground, but because of the slope, the side facing down the mountain is at ground level. I'm not sure it would even be possible in the sims, but I think it looks super cool and I'd love to see someone try it ;)
