      @@SirWalrusButt556 That’s a good question bro. I’ll say this, many black and brown brothers in my community are not doing positive things . The same image is portrayed in popular media. It’s deeply discouraging to me.
      I love to see everyone win, and especially desire everyone to live a fulfilled life in Christ . So when I see so many people that look like me so far from this Truth and this Life it hurts. I believe these two can help lead this particular demographic I speak of to Christ. I could go on and on about this but it would be better have a conversation like this in person. One last thing I’ll say is that most of my favorite pastors and scholars our old white man…lol and I love them to death. So these two are a breath of fresh air, and inspire people my age and even younger to Study our Bibles and theology in depth, value education and constant spiritual growth

  • @yaboimak5

    As a Native American man myself, I've always loved and appreciated the history of both minorities and our struggles, but I've particularly benefited a TON and learned to appreciate even more the African Americans history through the north and south divide, slavery, jim crow laws etc. And how yall have COME UP literally! Through soo much struggle and pain yall have risen above the standards of the racist whites over the centuries, and not to say all whites are racists of course, but the main problems in the systemic racism that has been present and is still being shown to be very present in our time with all the crazy killings of African Americans men and woman by the POLICE! its crazy honestly, but I just wanted to say that even as a native American man who came to faith at age 18 fresh out of gang life, hip hop upbringing etc, God actually used Christian hip hop artists like The Gospel Gangstaz as clubs and parties and it really spoke to me..... then when I accepted Christ shortly after through my christian aunties prayers I'm sure, I started my walk with Christ by being gifted with a Cross Movement album Called Higher Definition! It was ON from there! Lol Christ used Hip hop my past "learning language" so to speak to minister the Gospel to me, and Sanctify me over the years, and I actually got onto Pastor Eric Masons ministry at that time as well which really blessed me and his books and ministry STILL do. I've been buying books like 'The Warmth Of Other Suns' and other books to learn from African history.

    I just have one issue with the whole conversation. I have a problem with the term ‘black Christianity’, because it feels all black people are encompassed in the conversation. I am black woman raised in Africa. Being saved in Africa, I don’t necessarily have the same issues as black Americans. We have our own issues and many different cultures on the continent. And I can say that they are huge differences between how Christianity looks like in my country and how it looks like in a neighboring country. So maybe consider that not all black people are represented by black people in America.

    • @benjaminlamptey1867
      @benjaminlamptey1867 3 года назад +1

      I think the term "black" doesn't really apply to us (especially in the context of the US). The very concept of black fails to hold water when one spends some time pretty much in any African society. It's a Western concept that only really works in a Western setting.
      Plus African-Americans are a distinct ethnicity now, you can't map any of them to specific kingdoms on the continent, there was so much admixture over the centuries. So I think it's safe to assume that even though we share ancestry, the term black only applies to them and not us continental Africans.
      But in general conversation, we entertain the term because many Americans can't tell the difference and it'd take so much more time and effort educating them.

Also, it's not good for your soul if you're stepping on people. And it's not good for your soul if you're watching quietly while others are being stepped on. Jesus' people who are still inside the camp gotta follow His footsteps and make their way outside the camp. Brothers and sisters are waiting there. Thank you guys for this podcast. This brought alot of clarity to areas within orthodox black christianity, issues pertaining to ministry and theology and how it deviates based on social location, and understanding how black suffering and the dismissal of black cultural social injustice leads to Africans Americans either not seeing Christ and the Bible as being for them, or seeing Jesus as only a white man's religion. It was wonderfully tied in from beginning to end. Y'all had me weak at 1:21:04 though. Not the Red Pill brothers. 😂Y'all play too much. Also at 1:21:35 -1:21:40 when Mr. McCaulley spoke on how the bag changes when you deviate from the two extremes. This brings a form of humility in a way and grant's you a better understanding of the Widow with the two mites (Luke 21:1-4) in the bible even though you didn't want to be in that situation👏🏿👏🏿. Do you mind clarifying what Mr. McCaulley meant about the black person who is skeptical of white christianity for a white skeptical audience? That statement kinda flew over my head a little. But as always great podcast. So glad I found you guys accidentally.

    I've listened to all of the podcast put up by Southside Rabbi. I enjoy them greatly! This one I had a hard time with. It's an obvious statement that the church has had racism in it. Racism is wrong. We all agree and there is no excuse for it.
    My quarry is this: Everyone in this podcast acknowledge racism in todays evangelical church. BUT they didn't mention any names or churches were these racist acts occurred. It's the same thing that Beth Moore is guilty of. Claim "racism must stop in our churchs", but never call anyone out. This is not an issue of gossip or stirring a pot. Racism is a huge deal. If someone or some church body is in sin with racism it needs to be brought to the spotlight. These racist need to be marked and expelled from the church culture. Just claiming racism and never going beyond the claim just lets the problem continue.
    In this podcast general comments were made alluding to racist situations. If that's the case please call them out so we can stand behind you in solidarity. Ya'll just said in the podcast that fame and money aren't as important as the gospel message. Don't let the fear of backlash or hurt feelings silent the truth.
    I'm going to harsh but fair with this next comment. In this podcast it was stated that there is pressure to talk bad on others because there is a lot money to be made by doing it. Specifically when black people are attack other black people, and you guys said you weren't going to do that on here. Then the same video you didn't have problem naming Thomas Sowell in a negative light.
    The last two episodes got me feeling that critical race theory is creeping into, being accepted, into the conversation. That's going to do nothing but divide people.
    I don't want this to come off as an attack, because it's not. It's a concern that i'd like to bring up. I appreciate you brothers for this podcast and how great of a tool you have made this to preach Christ Crucified. God Bless, Soli Deo Gloria.
    PS ya'll going back and forth about the grits about made me almost wreck my car I was laughing so hard!

    An interesting thought, if the privilege or power of white slaveowners caused them to twist the word incorrectly with regards to slavery (their social location), what blindspots or misinterpretations of the Word do oppressed people tend to have? Do they bristle at the idea of authority or hierarchy to the point where they don’t believe in God’s ordained systems of authority in the family or church or government ?

    • @terrishabuckley7753
      @terrishabuckley7753 3 года назад

      It could be two-fold. It could also be the fact that people in authority including black people that gain some authority and affluence equate God giving them that authority to God being okay with said leader’s bad decisions. We easily talk about how David honored Saul because God anointed him, which is true. AT THE SAME TIME, God also was punishing and rejecting Saul for not obeying and all of his other sins. Saul has over 40 years of torment because God was not pleased with how he ruled.
      In other words, half truths are the reason why black people are not comfortable with authority.

There have always been white christians in America and Europe who opposed slavery and white supremacy ideology. If you're going to make the distinction that black churches didn't be consistent and don't group all white churches together. Because there is a huge difference.

    So the future of ministering to black folks is to address racism, huh? Not the problem of being born in sin, no no no no. My goodness I thought it was the demonstration of the love and power of Jesus Christ that brought folks to repentance 🤣🤣🤣 like healing diseases and setting folks free from bondages like drugs and alcohol-you know, things JESUS DID-that was effective. Nope, it’s winning the arguments against racism. Yep 👍🏾

    I think the reason why I have such an issue with the topic of race and injustice is that they, along with other issues, are temporal in comparison to eternity. Now I am not say that these issues do not matter, because they do and I believe God cares as well; yet are we putting so much emphasis on the issues that it makes seeking the Kingdom above all else secondary?

      How can people enter the kingdom of Heaven if racism is woven into the very fabric of Christianity in America?

      @@brittaniebetch wow, that's a strong point madam. I never thought of it that way.

    After listening to three guys smell their own farts for over a hour the scripture that comes to mind is: “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
    ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭11:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    Esau, of course you know all the Christian rhetoric but as I’ve said below while tracking your statements it appears you really don’t believe them cause you and these other two dudes want to make Christ equal politics and sociopolitical justice. That wasn’t Jesus mission then, nor the Church’s and it isn’t today. Jesus did not come to make bad men, racist men, etc, good, Jesus came to bring dead people back to life. Although Satan hates every form of goodness I’m sure he’ll settle for everyone singing kumbaya if it meant they didn’t accept Christ as their redemption.
    I hate to break it to you guys but racism WILL NEVER EVER END. Why? Because Satan is the author of it and until Jesus puts an end to his kingdom racism (and every other form of evil wickedness will continue to thrive). We’re here to be light and fruit and even then we can do NOTHING apart from Christ-NOTHING REALLY MEANS NOTHING.
    You can’t say be not of the world and then use the Church to engage in the most worldliest of things: politics! Politics, a system rooted deeply in the occult. Be a good citizen a vote however you please but politics and Christ will never work because its of two different kingdoms.
    Esau you mentioned briefly when you wrote around Pauline topics (THE BIBLE) it was boring but slavery is a hotter topic. Check your heart dude. I don’t know if you’re really a Christian or not but your allegiance and priorities is out of order.
    I hope all you guys reexamine your hearts.
