Thanks for the detailed reviews. Like this I have a chance seeing the brands tested, as an Eastern European amateur musician I don't have the possibility testing them live.
Hey, Adrian! Your reputation precedes you- heard lots of good things from UK folks. I have a couple friends that I want to have try this horn, and then it'll be up for sale (and probably without the slide since this one is good!)
Hi Aidan! I’m thinking of taking lessons via computer/zoom etc. I was wondering if you have any advice for mic? I wanna get the best sound as possible so my sounds get depicted in a natural way. Thanks! /Anton
Hey, Anton! Honestly, almost anything works if it's placed properly and "normal sound" is turned on (so the software isn't trying to damp out the noise). You can hear a surprising amount even through the worst quality microphones.
Well, there are no non-custom Bach dual bores. There are a couple out there, but every Bach slide you see in the wild is a single bore. I personally use my Shires dual bore (B62/78) for all of my playing on my Bachs. I have an Edwards DBN (just like the Shires, different length oversleeves) and a DBB (no oversleeves, yellow crook). They are both good as well, but the playability and sound are just a bit less special than the Shires. It's open, balanced, good in all registers, and has this great match to the bell section that the Edwards are just a bit away from. Shires slides need a tenon swap to fit Bach bells- I have an Edwards dual bore tenon on mine.
@@AidanRitchie thank you for the information. i’m a sophomore recently picking up bass trombone from euphonium so i can play in college and i’ve been looking into what i should look for and i’m just down to what instrument i plan on getting for college. my two options are the bach 50af3 or a shires q36ya.
That tenor is so neat. The tuba community has so many frankenhorns, it’s fun to see some weirder trombones every now and again!
Frankenbones aren't too uncommon!

New Aidan lore
Beautiful tune and tone at the beginning!
It would be really cool if you can get that large bore tenor working!
It's the plan!
Be up for the 50T3 I’ve got 2x Bach slides so only need bell section. Tried buying one in UK many times but missed out or took too long to ship new!

Please sell!!! I would love to purchase that old bass…is there anyway to accept a shires slide?
Which one?
LOL - so you bought that tenor?!?!? I was eying it but decided I have too many large bores at the moment.
yup, no one bid on it. I was surprised to win haha

@@AidanRitchie Thanks for the reply Aidan, I’ll keep that in mind.
hi i’m curious as to which dual bore slide you would recommend the bach dual bore, the shires dual bore, or the edwards dual bore.

Do you want to sell the 50T3?
That's long gone!
I thought I just won coolest tenor with my new 42a with corp bell🥲
I mean, that's dope and actually functional haha
