There's something about that straight half-bass that just calls out to me... I love my 8H. If the music allows, I will choose it over my 88H every time. Thanks for the video!
I have 4 trombones, 3 I use regularly depending on the gig: bass, jazz and concert tenors. The 4th is a pbone that sits on my TV stand that I can grab and noodle on if the mood strikes me. The others stay in their cases unless I am actively playing/practicing. There are a few novelties I’d like to get like soprano, picc, etc just to have in my collection. I have a friend that has a Db Conn his dad made for him when he was a child when his dad worked at the factory fifty to sixty years ago. Outside of those I don’t really have much of a desire to collect old horns. I wouldn’t mind having a back up bass trombone in case something happens to mine. I am more inclined to pick up a tuba and maybe a euophonium.
I have my two main horns; a Bach 36G tenor and a Getzen 1062FD bass, and two “collection” horns, an unbranded tenor/bass that’s identical to yours at 7:47 and a Jupiter soprano that I found in a second hand shop for AU$100 (~US$50).
I can understand because I really only have a need for one trombone but I currently have two. I saw this LA Olds Studio in really good shape for sale in a pawnshop in NJ for about $100 and I couldn't resist. Do I have a need for such an instrument? Not really. But for that price, why not? Of course, I could keep saying that and end up with dozens of trombones.
I decided to finally pull the trigger on a "collection" horn I've been wanting for a while. A King Tempo, but not the 2B copy. The one I've been wanting is basically a nickel silver King 606 with a curved brace. Never played one, never seen anybody talk about them, so that made me want it lol
I know how you feel. Currently "borrowing" a Minick Great G Contrabass trombone. I'm going out of my way to play it on bass trombone parts in my Trombone Choir. I really should not buy it and just save up for a bass trombone for myself.

Right on with Slide Hampton playing left handed!
