  • Research confirms that weight bearing exercises contribute to stroke recovery. Simply put, these moves allow a patient to put weight or pressure through the stroke-affected limb. This is why a patient gets the use of the weak leg because they must stand on it to transfer to the bed, or chair, or toilet. No one walks on their arms so weight bearing exercises have been devised for the weak arm. These are the basic moves.
