As a kid this was my favorite lightsaber! I remember the plastic lightsabers they used to have. They were a strong plastic and they had it in multiple colors I got the green one. I always thought because it was green it was Yoda’s lol but I got to get this one!
My opinion is that in the Theed power generator in Epsiode I, down inside the shaft are three different directions. The first is a harmless safe direction (which Obi-Wan's lightsaber goes into), the second is a direction where the garbage that eventually gets transported from Naboo is (which Darth Maul and his remaining lightsaber half go into), and the third goes into the direction where the melting pit is (which Darth Maul's legs go into).
Wow this brings back memories. I saw episode one in theaters when I was 13.
When I had a school party I dressed up as Obi Wan. My father made a lightsaber from a wooden stick, pvc pipe and aluminium foil 😅.
Oh if you saw ep 1 in the movies the. You know that feeling of the audience when darth maul opened up the staff for the first time! Woohoo!!!!

That lightsaber has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid. I built the korbanth version which I believe is the same 89 sabers hilt. It’s awesome
I've always liked Obi Wan's Phantom Menace lightsaber. That lgt version was the first one I ever got from Vader Sabers. I still love it. I know this one is definitely more screen accurate, but that original lgt just feels like a sleeker, more refined version of it. I still like that one better.
That is a really cool lightsaber. I'm also excited to see the reviews of the other sabers coming up.

I need one of these eventually. I have the Anh and the geonosis clan hilt.
I wish they would find a way to hide the charger port but still have it be external. Partial disassembly to charge is kind of a pain. I get it can't be done with every hilt though. If they did the round charger port you could hide it under a knob on some of them I think. Not much room to work with in those hilts so I get it.

I really want to get Ep1 Kenobi's eventually as i love it's streamlined design.
I would definitely get it purley as a COMBAT saber, its just too ergonomic to have it for anything else, it's BUILT to defeat SITH and hit stuff 😭😭.
Actually the gold blade plug is accurate. I studied the prop but I think silver looks better.

It's a fine looking hilt, but the Obi-Wan hilt from ANH is my favorite. Your future review of the Series version 3.5 as you call it interests me a LOT more. I'd be very tempted to get one of those. If UW/TPS offered one, I'd buy it in a second. I've been buying from them for almost 6 years now and well, I just prefer their hilts.
I saw A New Hope twice at the drive in theatre in Massachusetts 1977. I was only 3, but I remember it vividly. Speaker in the window... We had a blue Al Bundy style Dodge, lol.
I saw Empire the same way (it was in the theaters forever (over a year)) and it was a double feature with the movie Dragon Slayer. 👍

Niiiice! Good old times. Yeah I was 4 when return of the Jedi came out. I remember crossing the street and there was a long line to get in to the theater. I feel in love with Ewoks and lightsaber at 4 years old and it just kept going to this day!
@@TheCollectorsOutpost I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I just never had the money for wants vs needs, especially being sick (like disease sick) but the only lightsaber I've ever owned was the originals (wish I still had it). All plastic, no real detail, colored plastic sabers (no lights) and only available in red & blue. My brother and I beat the crap out of them playing in the yard. I remember them being so dented up. Now I would just swing it around all day long as a form of physical therapy. I'd need ten replacement batteries. 🤣
If I had a man cave, It'd be all horror and Star Wars themed.
I had a lot of the original toys (action figures (Luke (with removable saber & I had him in the orange flight suit) Han, Leia, Chewy, R2 & 3PO, Akbar, probably a dozen or so in total) I had the Halloween costumes, I know I had Vader and Yoda etc...). All gone now.
But yes, the good 'ol days. Still every bit of a fan though. I get chills watching you talk about all these sabers, just love the original sounds, how bright they are, how spectacularly detailed with "kyber crystals" so cool. I loved growing up with it, but it must be really cool being a kid now and growing up with it too.
The only thing I don't like is the dialogue in the fonts. Maybe that makes me a purist, lol, Idk, but it takes away from the realism to me. I know the fonts need to be labeled, that can be done on an app, but just make the sabers be sabers. Sound on, sound off and everything in-between, just no start up quotes. It's kinda like watching Return of the Jedi and when Luke turns on his lightsaber it says "Hi, I'm Luke Skywalker" then Pssssshhh it turns on.
Other than that, I absolutely love them! So thanks for sharing!

Wish that red button seat closer to the body, that sticks up way too much. I’ve seen good buttons of that style where just the center is the plunger. Wonder if those could be swapped.
Just have to screw it in more. I did that after the video when I also noticed it was high. Super easy fix.

Would you say this is most movie accurate as fas as length and width of the hilt? The ultra sabers looks THICK. Almost bought it.
This and the Xeno v3 are both great and almost completely identical and very screen accurate.
I have a Luke artsabers with only one retention screw and the blade tends to shake loose when I spin it. Does this one have that issue? Only thing holding me back right now. Love your reviews!
Not that I have noticed but my blades before i even tighten the retention screw are super tight fits.
Ok well thanks for your insight. My Ani 2 has one screw and I never have it come loose. All these sabers have such a different feel.
How do you personally aquire these? Do you outright pay or do you get free ones to review?
The red activation button looks like it's raised away from the hilt a bit far and it's seems a little wiggly-wobbly. Does it feel secure when spinning, doesn't dig into your hand too much or feel like you'll snap it off?
It’s just fine. I just screwed it down after the video. Wasn’t all the in.
hey man, awesome review as usual, I've bought my first Neopixel blade because of you. Between this Obi Wan saber and Qui Gon's, which one feels better for spin, and is Obi's well balanced? (because you have to grip it quite down on the hilt)
Seems ok. Very few are balance perfectly m. Maybe times it comes down to the size of the blade, length and thickness as that can easily change the balance to front of back heavy.

What?! The basic shape is the same... but for movie prop enthusiasts, Ep1 and Ep2 are two drastically different props. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
The only thing i dont like all the 89 sabers have the same fonts and most of them dont even have a font of the characters lightsaber
All the new proffie v3.9 that I tried have a lot more fonts than they use to. But yeah I normally just drop my
Own font on sabers anyway. I’ll just drop my Kenobi font on here at some point.
Never got to see the OT in theaters as I wasn't born yet however my father brought me to see the special editions when they came to theaters because the big screen is the best way to watch these. With Obi-Wan being one of my favorite characters this will be in my collection.
