  • Episode 3 of a Suzuki SV650 revival project. In this video you see me disassemble the carburetors of the bike for cleaning. These were a bit stubborn for removing hardware but a little time in the ultrasonic cleaner got me going.

    Nice recommendation. People at work thought I was nuts when the company sent a group of us to Japan and I was bringing back JIS Vessel brand screw drivers. (2011). Could never find them in the states, now you can get them on amazon.

      They make so much of a difference it's crazy. I have a video going up tomorrow where I talk about JIS again. I have to spread the gospel lol

      I walked into Autozone and asked where they had the JIS screwdrivers and they looked at me like I was insane. I went to two other auto stores with the same effect. I believe the screw driver in the bike's tool kit is JIS. That's what I've always used on the brake fluid reservoir and it's worked well

    With no closeup footage, we might as well be watching this from across the street.

      I apologize Tom. This was one of the first videos I ever made and I was learning the entire process of filming/editing/and narration with zero experience. My modern videos are better but we all have to start somewhere

    Yay I think i'm going to have to do this. Bike hardly starts when its colder than 55 and the choke is on for a while.

      Carbs can be really finicky but when given some love they will change the way the bike feels drastically. These are my early videos and I wish they were a bit better but hopefully they help some.

      @@BrickHouseBuilds Did soaking the carbs actually clean out the small holes that may have been clogged like the jets

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  4 года назад

      @@haydenmilles6662 the tank you see is not soaking but actually sonically vibrating the liquid to work lose anything in the carb passages. Its called an ultrasonic cleaner. Mild chemical heated to 50c and vibrated for 10 minutes does the trick.

      would a clogged pilot jet be indicated by the choke needing to stay on? Mine will run fine without it after about 30 min of riding in 60-70 degree weather, but it mainly stays partly on for my short daily commutes

    Did you shoot this on a Moto X (or Motorolla phone in general)? I had the exact same problems with my audio getting this progressively louder hissing sound.
    Thanks for the video on the carb, btw!

      I grabbed mind on EBAY about 3 years ago. It's the large 30l which I HIGHLY recommend even if you think it's too big. Everyone buys a smaller one and immediately say they wish they bought this one. It was $250
