Always a good idea to clean the outside of the carb with the tooth brush before adding to ultrasonic cleaner, that way you know how much dirt came off internally.
To save on cleaning fluid in my 30 litre cleaner by putting everything in glass or plastic jars(glass works best) with lids rather than fill the whole cleaner up and throw it out after a few uses, you can also use sealable zip lock plastic bags too. One of the best cleaners I have found is strait forward petrol, make sure you do a test on any material that may be damaged by petrol if your going to use it, same with any detergent or cleaning fluid too.
After manually cleaning about 100 motorsports carburetors, it's time for me to get one of these. And I don't actually care if I have to push buttons several times.
I've sent for one today with the push button controls, I sure hope I don't have to push the button for every number up and down but can just hold it and it will change and hoping even more if it's the same for the timer.
Great Video, I am going to have to get a ultrasonic cleaner and take on my 1989 Transalp carbs, a rare bike here in the US, I was going to install a jet kit but I think I will do Your secret power band trick, what should I put it around on a carbureted bike? Thanks!
Having trouble with my mikuni hsr42 inside just covered with this green muddy some jets are completely clogged thing I'll get me one and try what your doing. Thx saved for later.
Hopefully an ultrasonic cleaner will do the job. You may need a few goes in the cleaner and to agitate the dirt with a brush between sessions in the cleaner. Also, using a good cleaning liquid is important for tougher gunk.
About to try cleaning a carb in my ultrasonic. Think Simple Green would be ok to put in as a solution or some kind of degreaser? Think I just might try some Dawn dish soap first just to try it out.
Everybody is showing how to clean carburettor, that mean no other parts can be cleaned with this ultrasonic cleaner.Other thing is that slowly carburettors are vanishing as alternative methods are being used,in that case this ultrasonic cleaner will become absolute.
Not at all. Carbs are aluminum. The knowledge transfers. And different solutions can be used for different metals. Vinegar is great on gears, nuts, bolts but the acidity cab discolor aluminum. There are lots of videos explaining all of this. These machines are amazing and versatile.

I use 25 oz of muratic acid with 1.5 gals of water..you will see the carb boil..leave in for a minute...remove and rinse with water...repeat untill carb is clean...i also use pure toilet bowl cleaner..it removes rust, calcium..leave in for one minute or less...repeat as needed...you dont want to leave it too long" or the aluminum will turn dark...iv been useing this method since the 1970s..you could use ultrasonic after my method, for fine cleaning the circuits of the carb..

I feel you man 😂 I'm grabbing myself that 30l to take on more parts at once.
I use mine for carbs and antique clock movements. Works wonders!
Helpful video. About to do snowmobile carbs. Thanks 😊

Unfortunately holding the button down doesn't work on mine. Not a big deal as I'm not using it every day.

Holding the button sends both figures all the way up on mine, and actually starts skipping by tens, once you hold it.
You can use a pump wedge to displace the water in the bigger one
Thanks.

Does the machine itself become dirty or is that easy to wipe down inside? These are such amazing machines.

Did you replace the gasket adter cleaning it?
Not on this occasion

Trying to clear a blocked gallery in my carbs and they fit better in the cleaner with out the basket ??
No, not necessary as far as I'm aware.

how many liters is your cleaner ?
small one is 3 litres I think. Big one is huge.
