- I'm using my ultrasonic cleaner to clean the carburettor off my Beta Rev 3 trials bike. The carb is a Dellorto VHST26 if you are interested.
The cleaning fluid I use is Ultrasonic Carburettor Cleaning Fluid from Bestultrasonic.co.uk
(I have no affiliation with this business)
The ultrasonic cleaner I am using in this video is a Digital Pro+ 3ltr model.
If you enjoyed this video and found it useful, please consider buying me a coffee:

Always a good idea to clean the outside of the carb with the tooth brush before adding to ultrasonic cleaner, that way you know how much dirt came off internally.
If you start the motorcycle we all can enjoy!
To save on cleaning fluid in my 30 litre cleaner by putting everything in glass or plastic jars(glass works best) with lids rather than fill the whole cleaner up and throw it out after a few uses, you can also use sealable zip lock plastic bags too. One of the best cleaners I have found is strait forward petrol, make sure you do a test on any material that may be damaged by petrol if your going to use it, same with any detergent or cleaning fluid too.
After manually cleaning about 100 motorsports carburetors, it's time for me to get one of these. And I don't actually care if I have to push buttons several times.
I feel you man 😂 I'm grabbing myself that 30l to take on more parts at once.
Top tip for small parts in the bath, use loose tea gauze balls
Excellent idea. Thanks!
I've sent for one today with the push button controls, I sure hope I don't have to push the button for every number up and down but can just hold it and it will change and hoping even more if it's the same for the timer.
Unfortunately holding the button down doesn't work on mine. Not a big deal as I'm not using it every day.
I just use a loose tea ball for my small carb parts in my ultrasonic cleaner
ill have to google what that is
Helpful video. About to do snowmobile carbs. Thanks 😊
I use mine for carbs and antique clock movements. Works wonders!
Great Video, I am going to have to get a ultrasonic cleaner and take on my 1989 Transalp carbs, a rare bike here in the US, I was going to install a jet kit but I think I will do Your secret power band trick, what should I put it around on a carbureted bike? Thanks!
😁
You can use a pump wedge to displace the water in the bigger one
Thanks.
Please identify cleaner chemical.
I've put details in the video description. Thanks for watching.
@@SongsFromTheSaddle thanks very much!!
What made is the ultrasonic bath
Mine is a Digital Pro+.
Having trouble with my mikuni hsr42 inside just covered with this green muddy some jets are completely clogged thing I'll get me one and try what your doing. Thx saved for later.
Hopefully an ultrasonic cleaner will do the job. You may need a few goes in the cleaner and to agitate the dirt with a brush between sessions in the cleaner. Also, using a good cleaning liquid is important for tougher gunk.
Can I just use straight De-ionized Water
I’m a young mechanic
Yes. People use all sorts of different liquids and cleaners.
Do you have to use the basket ? Im
Trying to clear a blocked gallery in my carbs and they fit better in the cleaner with out the basket ??
No, not necessary as far as I'm aware.
Hold the button and it will scroll up and down fast. No need to keep pushing.
Wrong
I use 25 oz of muratic acid with 1.5 gals of water..you will see the carb boil..leave in for a minute...remove and rinse with water...repeat untill carb is clean...i also use pure toilet bowl cleaner..it removes rust, calcium..leave in for one minute or less...repeat as needed...you dont want to leave it too long" or the aluminum will turn dark...iv been useing this method since the 1970s..you could use ultrasonic after my method, for fine cleaning the circuits of the carb..
Nice cleaning
Thanks for the vid! Fuel filter on backwards by chance?
I don't think so, but I changed it anyway
About to try cleaning a carb in my ultrasonic. Think Simple Green would be ok to put in as a solution or some kind of degreaser? Think I just might try some Dawn dish soap first just to try it out.
Did you replace the gasket adter cleaning it?
Not on this occasion
how many liters is your cleaner ?
small one is 3 litres I think. Big one is huge.
A complete waste of time and money. You forgot the most important part! 😆
Ha ha. We all have our own opinions and methods.
Blow through the parts away from the bench...one slip and that tissue and parts are all on the floor....good video tho ,thanks...
This is the problem with trying to do things on-camera.
