Like always this was very helpful. Thank you captain CA. I always overthink this, but I do catch a lot of snook and Tarpon and they do try to wrap me around the pylons and the docks so that is one of my biggest considerations I like to use the floor carbon that’s pink soft but it’s a joke there somewhere, but it doesn’t impede the action even though it’s very high test-tight lines .✌️🏴☠️🛶
I’ve always wanted to ask you this question but never knew how to ask it about the color of the line a lot of times I like to use line that is very bright, but that’s only for me to see because in my kayak and in my canoe, it’s tough not to get tangled in trees and stuff, but I’m not sure. Seems like I catch more with the dark green braid than the real bright yellows and blues but I always use floor carbon. I’m a big fan of yo Siri pink, I think because it’s soft and I could use very high strength like 50. It’s win-win for me.? I told you I didn’t know how to ask.😂tight,lines. Thanks, captain CA.
You did warn me 😂. But to try and answer the question. I generally prefer grey, white and blue braid for most fishing… but do use hi-vis yellow for Ned Rig or slack line techniques
I have a slight question about line weight on a pole my tranx 200 is running 30lb braid but i want to use a fishing rod lighter for side of the rod canal fishing but the line ratings are between 15 to sometimes 20 can i still run that 30lb braid with that pole
The short answer is yes but it could hinder casting performance with that heavier line… not as concerned about over stressing rod unless your target fish are really oversized (eg Grouper)
CA, I have a question for you. I can buy fluorocarbon in 250 yard length spool. Is this the same quality that the short spools, or is it something different? and I’m talking about like Berkeley vanish easy casting flurocarbon versus the traditional Seagar 20 pound fluorocarbon. thank you. Please let me know.
See I run 40 lb most of the time since 90% I’m skipping mangroves for snook. And it’s impossible for me to go any longer than 3’ because my uni to uni can’t go through the guides.
This is why Cap is the best!! A 22 minute video about leader!!!!
Awesome feedback
Capt. CA, thanks for the great information.
And thank you for your loyal support of the channel
Fluoro for inshore… or yellowtails offshore 🤙
Amen 🙏🏼
Great Vid. Keep them coming.
Thank you Pat and I definitely will 💯
Very good video C. a. and like you say common sense is what you need !
Yeah but that type of sense is uncommon now 😂
I use the red Philip knot that you taught me for my bike ticket really really well
Yes, that would be an excellent alternative to the blood knot. Appreciate the add to this post!

Great share for this post… appreciate your support on all of our videos!
Great video
Appreciate the support 🙏🏼
So the blood knot doesn’t go through the guides well? Im using the surgeons knot now keeping it short and outside the guides. Thank you!
Tony thanks for the input and support

They are made differently and the castable fluoro has much more stretch.
@@flatsclasscharters Thank you. Good to know.
What pound braid did you have on for that nice big snook?
Dave- it was 20lb braid… but that thin diameter cuts, bites and obviously breaks around the mangrove roots 😢
See I run 40 lb most of the time since 90% I’m skipping mangroves for snook. And it’s impossible for me to go any longer than 3’ because my uni to uni can’t go through the guides.
The Alberto or FG Knot will definitely change that for you. And once you tie them a few times you’ll find they are quite simple to master
And I also use the pr not with a bobbin
Now that’s technical… it’s a great connection though 👍🏼
I would like to hear your reply if you have time
Video too long
Thank you again for solid feedback
