Pocky & Rocky Reshrined guide with commentary - every secret location!

A playthrough demonstrating every secret in the game that I'm aware of.
There might be other secrets, but so far I have not seen any other players uncovering them.
Be sure to enable Close Captions for commentary in the subtitles.
The most important aspect of the game is to never get hit. Picking up excess health will give up to 30,000 extra points per item, and excess shield talismans (if your current shield didn't take any damage) will give up to 50,000. Excess bombs will also give you a 30,000 bonus, and extra lives are worth 50,000 each at the end of the game. These elements are the biggest source of scoring in the game.
For the 50-point and 100-point stores you also want to manipulate the outcome by fixing the last digit in your coin count when you activate them. Getting a shield or a 1up can potentially be worth 50,000 points each.

The catch is you need to get enough money to afford it, otherwise it won't even show.
That is why I start out going back and forth farming for coins.

Simply play through story mode on any difficulty, some times you'll get this character, other times you'll get the samurai on stage 5 (i think it's random) .
If you just play till the end you'll unlock the character you played as, doesn't matter if you continued :)
