Thank you for taking the time to put this video together and answering all the comments. Your time and patiences is appreciated. My wife and I were planning to visit in December 2021, but between the health pass rule changes and the alternative of the addition of $30-$50 (X 2 people) covid tests every 72 hours, we are now looking to go else. We just don't want to spend the entire vacation at the hotel or running around trying to get covid tests. I can wait in lines here in the USA. I hope you all have a better time visiting, and I'm looking forward to reschedule when things settle down in a year or two.
Hi Chris, you're very welcome. I understand travel at this time is so complicated. We want to travel somewhere for my birthday in Jan, and I find myself doing the same thing and deciding to postpone certain places. All I can continue to say is that all of our clients are navigating it quite well whether they received the QR code or not. If they did not, most places are accepting the CDC card at this point. And I have been to several restaurants lately where they didn't even ask to see our codes. A friend and I were talking at lunch on Monday, that other than wearing masks still, it almost felt normal. I do believe they are set to release some new updates around the middle of this month. I didn't find any new updated articles this week given that the QR portal has closed. All things considered, it's still a really great time to travel here bc so many things are still much quieter than normal. And that's not just coming from me, I consistently hear that from our clients. We understand though! You have to visit when the time feels right -- I'm hopeful in the next few months things are going to get much easier. Holding out for a "normal" year next year. Bon voyage wherever you end up in December!
Just visited last week (24-31 October 2021)...received our Pass Sanitaires from French government on the Firday before we left for Paris...submitted them on the 30Sep2021, so it took all of 4 weeks to get them approved...also remember to fill out the residence as the address you are staying at in France, not where you are from...THAT info goes in the space for where you are signing the form! The Pass Sanitaire made things very simple for us whenever it was requested because we had the codes on our phones and it was just a matter of scanning them. Used them at the touristy attractions mainly - Eiffel Tower, Versailles, Louvre...not so much in restaurants though I think there was one or two that requested them.
We've never had our French QR scanned at the airport, but they do always look for proof of vaccination, so I've shown my French QR code or my CDC card from the US. Things tend to vary a touch depending on new/old measures, but as long as you have your proof with you, you should be prepared.
Thank you got the information I tried to apply for a French health pass but the website is closed not sure if I would be ok just using my cdc card , any suggestions?
Hi Vicky -- for the most part yes. I haven't had any of our clients tell us they had a difficult time using their CDC card since July. I believe they are set to announce some new updates around the middle of the month. I looked to see if there were any updated articles on our end given that the QR portal is closed, but I didn't come across anything. Hang in there! All of my clients in the past couple of months seem to have had smooth travels - I make sure to ask all of them how it's going. ;) I do hope you get to come to France, and I hope you have an amazing time. It really is actually a great time to visit. Best wishes!
As an American, returned from Paris, Lorie Valley, Bordeaux, Lyon, and Strasbourg (12 Days Vacation) using the CDC vaccinated card. The CDC vaccinated card worked like a charm at Museum, Chateau's, restaurants, shopping malls, and even grocery stores. No worries at all - passe sanitare is for the French using a French Social Security System which cannot be adapted or endorsed to any other system. Just enjoy yourself using the CDS vaccinated card. Antigen test is needed outbound and inbound from USA.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm so happy to hear you had a smooth trip in France! I have been hearing (and witnessed with our friends when they were here) that everyone seems to be having good success presenting their CDC card.
Thank you for the information. My twin and I are traveling to Paris in December. I want to make sure I can get my QR code by then, but it seems like I might not. finger crossed. but with your information I know what to, if It doesn't arrive in time. Thanks for taking the time out to film this. its appreciated :)
Absolutely! Happy to help! And honestly, I think at this point you'll be fine whether you receive it or not. We've had plenty of clients/friends not receive it and it didn't really affect much with their travels, if anything. Just have your vaccine card, a copy of it, and a photo of it on your phone in case you forget the card at the hotel. Most importantly, enjoy your travels!! :D
Good info! My girlfriend & I are traveling to Europe (London, Paris, Normandy & Munich) in November. Traveling from London to France via train. Just to confirm, we DO need this QR code to travel domestically in France & to go to museums, etc, right? Lol
For the time being the official answer is yes. I believe they will review the pass sanitaire details again by mid-November. Some people have had success receiving their QR code (especially after the French holidays were over), and others have had success using their CDC card at most venues. I do know that initially the Louvre and Disney were definitely the stricter locations in that they would only accept the QR code or a recent covid test within 72 hours.
hi THANK YOU for all the information in this video especially the with the code, i’m traveling to paris at the beginning of october this year for the first time (US to FRANCE). i’m fully vaccinated with pfizer. i have some questions. so i need a negative COVID-19 test to travel to paris at least 3 days before arriving? and before i leave paris i need another one? the test at the airport are only by appointment? are they free? are the rest of the test in paris free as well? again THANK YOU 😊
Hello! Currently if you are fully vaccinated you don't need a covid test as you leave the U.S., but you do need to take the steps mentioned in the video to apply for your QR code to make a smooth transition once you arrive. When you return to the U.S. you currently need a negative test within 72 hours of your departure. The tests at the airport are by appointment and seem to be more for travel by Europeans within Europe, but there are MANY pharmacies all over Paris offering the rapid antigen test without appt needed. The tests are capped at 29€. As an American you would need to pay. I hope that helps! Of course by October things may change again, but the sites we have included in the notes of the video are great resources to keep up with as things change. I hope you have a lovely trip!
Hi, I am trying to use any of those links that you provided but it doesn't take me anywhere. Please send the link for the application to put my information and CDC card to get the QR. Please advise and attach the link again here. Thank you
Hi Andrew! As has been the case, things are constantly changing and it can be hard for even us to keep up. France has apparently gone back to letting US visitors get their CDC card converted to a QR code at a pharmacy in France but now it's a fee that can be up to $44, which is still cheaper than getting tested every 3 days. Here's a link with more info and a map of participating pharmacies. www.sante.fr/obtenir-un-passe-sanitaire-en-cas-de-vaccination-letranger It seems many of the big tourist spots are accepting the US CDC card, but in our experience lately many restaurants are checking for the QR code. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! You're considered fully vaccinated 7 days after your second dose. At the moment you can get the QR code in France by taking an antigen test - available at most pharmacies and many pop up tents around the city. However, that will only be good for 72 hours. If you are successful with getting the QR code before you leave home, you wouldn't have to worry about taking the test more than once.
Thank you for the information. I am wondering about LAYOVERS...If we have a 10 hour layover in France and want to take advantage and see Paris during that time.. Is that possible for non-vaccinated and vaccinated people? I can't get a straight answer online. That would be so helpful. Thank you!!
You're very welcome. Currently, it says only vaccinated individuals should travel to France unless it is for essential travel. If you have unvaccinated in your group it could be complicated for them. I'd also plan on your 10 hours, maximum being 5-6 hours in Paris by the time you get out of the airport, travel into the city, and then need to allow the time coming back. I hope it works out though! Paris is worth it even if you have a few hours.
Thank you very much for the info, I am traveling to Paris in 2 weeks, I'm still waiting for my QR code but no response yet, I just wish there was an easier way to get other than waiting for the French government :( Is that true you can go to a Pharmacy and bring your CDC card and passport so they can get a QR Code? also Do Americans have to quarantine upon arrival when they are back to the US? I have read that on the Air France page Thank You so much for your help, you are an angel
It is frustrating, I agree. I have heard everyone has been having great success with their CDC card so don't sweat it too much if the QR code doesn't come through in time. I have heard if you find just the right pharmacie that you may still get lucky and they may agree to change it over for you, but not many of them are doing it now, and that was very short-lived. I am not 100% sure about the quarantine for the US...my husband and I have only taken the covid test on departure to US, but nothing was ever stated that we needed to quarantine once we arrived and he is there now. We fly Delta normally. I hope this helps some. The information is changing so quickly, and I think they are set to announce new info possibly in mid-November. Best wishes for a smooth trip!!
Hello! Thank you for this helpful information! I have 3 questions: 1. Should we include anything in the body of the email? 2. Is it okay to submit now for arrival after the listed date on the website (currently August 23)? We arrive early Sept. 3. Are there easy antigen tests at CDG that we can get the QR code before leaving the airport?
You're very welcome! Good questions .... 1. I don't think it's necessary since they don't list anything about it in the requirements, but I don't think it would hurt anything either. Most important is to format your subject line exactly as they request and include all requested documents. 2. This was not clearly spelled out. They have been changing the dates regularly on the site for the window to apply ...but in the FAQ's I read where it said to submit once your know your travel dates. So unless they didn't update the FAQ's, it seems a bit of a toss up. Most people I know have been submitting before the window. 3. My husband remembers seeing a set up for testing when we came back to France in July, but upon a quick search it seems it's more for departing passengers than for arrivals, and you must have an appointment. But no worries, there are a gazillion areas in the city to get tested. I noticed just the other day that there was a tent at the base of the Eiffel Tower, one near Opera, one outside the Au Printemps shopping center ...and these were simply the white pop up tent centers. Most pharmacies are offering the tests too. Here's a link to sites for testing. www.sante.fr/cf/carte-depistage-covid.html I hope that helps, and I hope you have a lovely time in France!
There are testing sites throughout the Pharmacies (green crosses) everywhere...however, you're test is only recognized for 72 hours and you have to pay for them each time (about 35 euro / ~$40 each time). The Pass Sanitaire is good indefinitely and requires nothing else once it is granted as a QR code for verification electronically...Bon Chance!
Ahhhh, I'm sorry Fi! It's so frustrating! I looked this morning on our news sites to see if there were any updates regarding this, but I didn't come across anything. I believe they are set to announce some updates by mid-month (Nov.). All I can say is all of our clients have been successfully navigating their trips with their CDC card, and they all seem happy and calm when I ask how the travel is going regarding covid requirements. I do hope you get to travel to France. And I do hope there is more clarity again on the QR code soon. My hope is that they will be ditching that requirement. Fingers crossed!
The QR code that you were talking about, do you know how long it lasts or when to get it before your trip? We are traveling to Spain in 5/2022 and will be getting on a cruise ship and stopping in multiple ports including France, just wondering if we will have to get the same QR code that you were talking about for that trip.
Congratulations on your spring trip! That sounds wonderful! I was just thinking about a cruise the other day. I would say not to worry about these logistics yet as I have no doubt things will change significantly by then. The main QR code info for tourists has already changed twice in the first couple of months of implementation. And hopefully, fingers crossed, all the covid stuff will be in a much more manageable category by that point.
Hi! Thank you so much for this video. I’m just so terribly confused as things really do keep changing. My husband and I are fully vaccinated US citizens traveling to Paris next week until November 29th. We are spending 2 days in Portugal and 2 days in Barcelona before arriving in Paris for a 24 hr trip. We are thinking to not waste our limited time getting the QR code as were in Paris only for a day. Do you have any advice and information regarding our trip, especially regarding our few days in Spain and Portugal? It would be so helpful. Thank you so much!
Hi! You're welcome. Unfortunately, I'm not well versed with Portugal or the requirements for Spain. There is a lot of crossover within Europe for the requirements to be the same, but not always. For Paris, for 24 hours, unless you're going to the Louvre, or to the top of the Eiffel Tower, you'd be fine without it. And you'll likely already have your results for your flight home, so you would have a code to show in Paris anyhow, so that's probably the part of your trip you'll be most prepared for honestly. Enjoy your trip! It sounds like a lovely mix of experiences.
You shouldn't need an actual visa unless you plan to stay for a long time. You'll want to apply for the QR code for your visit though just to make life easier while you're here, otherwise you'll have to take a new antigen test every 72 hours if you're wanting to go to restaurants, museums, etc.
Hello - on the French website you noted I saw the definition of “fully vaccinated” includes people who have had COVID before and have had one dose of the vaccine. My husband had COVID in July 2020 and then got one dose of Moderna in April 2021. Would you be able to confirm if he’s considered fully vaccinated? I’m not sure if the dates he had COVID matter. He only had one dose because he had such a strong reaction and his doctor recommended that he not get the second dose because his antibodies were extremely high. Merci.
Hi! Hmmm....that one seems a little more complicated and I'm certainly not an expert on this, nor do I want to give you the wrong info. I didn't reread the fine print in this moment, but I do remember fully vaccinated was 7 or 14 days after the second dose. I'm sure there's verbiage regarding if you had Covid as well, but I'm not sure. You could try messaging the consulate for clarification if reading it a few more times doesn't make it clearer. If I happen to see this answered on any forums, I'll be sure to pop back here with an update if it's helpful. I'm sorry I wasn't more help on this one.
Thank you for your helpful video, i will go to Paris from us for the first time in December, is it possible for me to apply for code now? I'm confused about questions in the form,"Resident address aboard? " ( is it mean address in Us or hotel in Paris?) "County aboard?" ( same questions above) . Thank you.
You are very welcome. I might wait until you get closer to the trip as things could change a little or a lot by then. I know the QR code is in effect until mid-November at this point. Resident address abroad I do believe would be the address where you are staying.
First it would depend which country you are traveling from, you would want to see what classification your country is currently. The U.S. is listed as Green for travel to France. In that case you can travel here without vaccination, but would need to take the test showing you are negative for covid within 72 hours of flight. Once you arrive in France though, you would need to take a new test for a new QR code that will permit you access to museums, restaurants, trains, etc. You can utilize this option, but you will have to renew your covid test every 72 hours for a new code while you're here if you want access to those places. The antigen test here is capped at 29€ and is available at most pharmacies.
My dream has become a nightmare. Visiting Paris with my 2 kids and husband. I’m also visiting London and Ireland. The nightmare is all the covid testing we will need. Can you let me know if its easy to get a covid test to hop in the Eurostar train the day of?? The reason I ask is I’m traveling on Eurostar on the Monday after Christmas. Test sites are prob all closed Christmas Day. Do you know if there’s anything open on Sunday’s. Please help me out as I’m losing my mind. I really don’t want to cancel this trip I’ve been planning since April and lose lots of $!! Hope you’re well!! I have a QR code.
Oh no! I'm so sorry! Travel is indeed a bit tricky at the moment. I agree Christmas day could be difficult, but maybe not impossible. However, depending upon the order of your travel -- to enter France the PCR or rapid antigen test are still accepted. We were just in the US when the changes were implemented mid-last week and had to schedule tests to fly back to France today. I'm in zombie jet lag mode at the moment, so I don't want to misspeak. Here's an article on our local news specifically talking about travel bw London and France. www.thelocal.fr/20210311/latest-everything-you-need-to-know-on-travel-rules-between-france-and-the-uk/ This may help a bit I hope. Something else you may consider if it's too overwhelming is to take out one piece of your trip so there won't be too many moving parts. It may feel less overwhelming at that point if you're able to do that, though I completely understand all the work that goes into planning a trip such as yours. We were trying to go to Thailand for my birthday in January, and now our trip is in limbo too. The only other thing I will say, it has been easy for us to get the rapid test whenever we need it. They are widely available at the pharmacies, and there are still pop up locations around major tourist attractions and such. I do wish you a safe and enjoyable trip - I hope it all works out!! Fingers crossed tightly!
Every time I go to the links, I can’t find the information in English. The first page translates, but nothing after it. So frustrating. I’m coming to France in a little over two weeks and I cant seem to figure out how to get the QR Code. Help!!
oh no! Try this link....www.demarches-simplifiees.fr/commencer/passe-sanitaire-etrangers It goes straight to the page where you create your account. I'm a mac user, so my pages translate pretty easy with a click of the button up in the url area. I'm not sure of you're operating system, but you may google how to translate pages specific to your browser/computer. I hope that helps in some way! Bon courage!
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers Thanks so much… I’ve been working on my iPad and have explored on multiple occasions with no luck. But last night after watching your video… I stuck with it and finally found the right page to apply!!! It took several more try’s, but the application is submitted! Hopefully I filled it out correctly! 😂
It's our pleasure Tracey! We understand the complexities of planning travel at the moment, so we just want to help however we can. Hoping to see your face here in Paris soon!
Thank you for the feedback! Productions of this nature are still a bit new to us, and we are certainly working on those details. I agree there are a few spots in this video that I wish were better and drove me crazy in post-production. ;) We just got the pocket gimbal and it seems to be picking up too much ambient still when we use the mics ...working on the fix. It sounds better than it did with too much background noise and other people talking initially. It will get better from here! Merci!
Great video but you need to fix your audio. Many visitors will forgive imperfect video but will leave if the audio isn’t clean. Happy to advise how to improve (gratuitement, bien sûr). You can DM me.
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, it was such a pertinent/timely video that we had to get the info out, and I did have to sacrifice a touch on audio quality. There was a section I believe the mic wasn't on we had to voice over, and then we thought we had the gimbal set so that it would only receive the direct audio, but it was still picking up audio from all sides. A work in progress - but it should get better from here! I appreciate your offer to help. If it's still an issue the next video, I'll reach out! Merci!
Thanks for all this amazing info!!!

Hi! Is there another way to do it? Now, the link page shows: This procedure has been closed, it is no longer possible to submit a file.
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers Thank you so much! God bless you and happy holidays! :)
Hello, thank you for the information. Question. I’m US citizen and I’m fully vaccinated. Do I need to do a visa to come to Paris from New York now?
So if I’m not vaccinated, I can’t travel to Paris?
@@lynnelundy1806 Yay! That's good news! It sounds like life here! ;) I hope everything works out well.
Thank you so much for this!
It's our pleasure Tracey! We understand the complexities of planning travel at the moment, so we just want to help however we can. Hoping to see your face here in Paris soon!
Video quality and content nice but the sound is bad
Merci!
@@LamourdeParisPhotographers been there! You’re welcome. Looking forward to seeing more great content from you.
