JV kept the number 2 team in the league at bay for 6 innings. Who were also fighting for the number 1 seed so its not like they were taking the day off.

He lost a lot of velocity. He’s only topping out at 93 since returning from that neck injury. It’s pretty safe to say his career is possibly over if he can’t fix it during the off season.

Michael Connor you're such a pessimistic quitter it's really a bummer to listen to your podcast. I remember when you gave up on the team 1 month into the season and even though the team figured it out and turned it around here you are with this same mopey "season's-over" attitude. One bad season and JV of all people is the person you call dead? The same 40 year old who came back from Tommy John and won a Cy Young 2 years ago? Dude was battling an injury all season and tried to come back early, it didn't work out and you say his career is over like he's not gonna try to keep pitching until he's 50. As a fan shameful all around buddy have some heart
Easy fella! Conner is cool alright buttt I'm definitely not writing off JV. If I had to bet I would say he comes back with 2 more 3 Era seasons, which is good. No more Sub 3 ERA and very likely injuries start creeping in more frequently especially after 2 years if he keeps going cause that's obviously JV's goal..longevity for his legacy.
