Take Me Higher is my personal Ultraman Opening song choice aside the primary Showa Ultraman. DYK: the song itself was published under the Avex Trax Record Label, the melody itself was made from Dave Rodgers, the Godfather of Eurobeat in Japan(often credited to his real surname Gian Carlo Pasquini) and later made his own cover of Take Me Higher (in English, not a translation) afterwards. One of the performers of the song (V6) is also the main actor for Ultraman Tiga (Hiroshi Nagano).
Ultraman powered was originally created in America and they just decided to dub the show in Japan later on . The show before it(ultraman great) did the same thing but it was made in Australia instead.

You often see many anime or other TV shows that references 3 minute fight limit or "I will beat you in less than 3 minutes". The Color Timer Blue light is an indicator of how much time an Ultraman can stay on the planet. This is because Ultramen are 'Beings of Light' and Earth's atmosphere lacks purity of energy for them to stay alive. The red indicates they are becoming weaker or have been heavily damaged, and/or are running out of time. The more time and energy they use up, or the more they get hurt, the faster the red light flashes and beeps. This mechanic is done more to make the fights more intense and for the sake of the audience's enjoyment of the show.

It's a shame that the Ultraman Nexus show ended short all just bcoz it was aired in a kids timeslot when it was planned for teen and adult audiences. I think its the first ultraman show with a dark storyline and not for kids.

To explain the phenomenon of the cross eyed ultraman, those are eye holes, so the suit actors can see. Tsuburaya can be slick when it comes to hiding eye holes but sometimes they lazy so they just put holes on the eyes

I say yes, Ultraman is an amazing series and the one that made Tokusatsu/Toku shows into the hero styled stuff you see now. While Godzilla was the Forefather of toku, Ultraman is the Father of superhero toku. Also for context, Ultraman is always about a giant of light/alien of light coming to alternate earths and such to help those in need. While they can be giant, there has been moments they need to fight on our level. There's 3 Generations of Ultraman. The "First Generation", which is Ultraman to Ultraman 80. Ultra Q tho, is the prequel/start of the ultra series but revolves more around mysteries and monster sightings. Its kinda like The Twilight Zone in a sense before it evolves into the giants of light-esc heroes of the Ultraman you know now. After The First Generation, we get the "Next Generation" which is from Ultraman Tiga to Ultraman Zero. And finally we have the "New Generation" which is Ginga to Decker and onward. These ones are fully about characters, their bonds with their Ultra's and more.

29:13 there are two types of humans that "transform" into ultramen. the first one is human host where ultramen reside in humans that they choose, so when the hosts "transform" they basically just switch places with the ultramen inside them. the second type is human form, which some ultramen have the ability to transform into humans themselves. so far it isn't clear whether all ultramen have the ability to transform into humans or just some of them. hope that helps

This video compilation is .....a little too long, what I mean is they really didn't need to include all of that but kudos for you both for being able to sit through that. My faves: -Ultraman Ace. Easily the most underwhelming close combat fighter but he's the best when it comes to energy based attacks, he's nicknamed the "Guillotine Killer/Master" because he constantly cuts limbs off of enemies. -Ultraman Tiga. Out of all the ultras, I think he's the most handsome one. He got a pretty face no? lol -Ultraman Nexus. The helmet seems similar to a Samurai helmet, love how much more 'masculine' he looks. Since I'm a 'bigger' asian, he'd prob be the best one for me to cosplay, though Tiga is my favorite. -Ultraman Mebius. This is the last season of ultraman that truly stuck to the original Ultraman universe, the Ultra Brothers, and overall a good show and good human team. Honorable mentions: Ultraman Zero Ultraman Trigger and Decker (They are based on Tiga and Dyna)

DYK: the song itself was published under the Avex Trax Record Label, the melody itself was made from Dave Rodgers, the Godfather of Eurobeat in Japan(often credited to his real surname Gian Carlo Pasquini) and later made his own cover of Take Me Higher (in English, not a translation) afterwards. One of the performers of the song (V6) is also the main actor for Ultraman Tiga (Hiroshi Nagano).
Ultraman powered was originally created in America and they just decided to dub the show in Japan later on . The show before it(ultraman great) did the same thing but it was made in Australia instead.

41:30 There's usually a blue light on an Ultraman, it is called the Color Timer, which was partially an excuse to keep fighting scenes short but that is basically where the "3 minute" time limit for fights came from. You often see many anime or other TV shows that references 3 minute fight limit or "I will beat you in less than 3 minutes".
The Color Timer Blue light is an indicator of how much time an Ultraman can stay on the planet. This is because Ultramen are 'Beings of Light' and Earth's atmosphere lacks purity of energy for them to stay alive. The red indicates they are becoming weaker or have been heavily damaged, and/or are running out of time. The more time and energy they use up, or the more they get hurt, the faster the red light flashes and beeps.
This mechanic is done more to make the fights more intense and for the sake of the audience's enjoyment of the show.

After that, there's compilation series (Retusden, Chronicle), web series (Ultra Galaxy Fight, Netflix anime), English dubs, spin-offs (Andro Melos, Kids), and straight up rip-offs (that Thai one).
Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, as mentioned, was based on Denkou Chojin Gridman (aka Gridman the Hyper Agent), which has been getting animated sequels from Studio TRIGGER, with a new movie coming this March.
If you're interested in the mainline Ultra series, all 25 episodes of Ultraman Z (2020) are available with English subs on the official Ultraman RUclips channel. It's a great show for fans and newcomers alike.

We had a blast reacting to them. It got a little tiring once it hit the hour and 30 minute mark but it was enjoyable enough to help us watch the rest.
It's a shame that the Ultraman Nexus show ended short all just bcoz it was aired in a kids timeslot when it was planned for teen and adult audiences. I think its the first ultraman show with a dark storyline and not for kids.
Its actually kid friendly aswell. Even with some murderer scene. Still they keep hidden the whole time.

Tsuburaya can be slick when it comes to hiding eye holes but sometimes they lazy so they just put holes on the eyes

Ultraman Nexus is such a S-Tier opening. Nexus is pretty dark though, I was scared at hell watching it as a kid 😅
I say yes, Ultraman is an amazing series and the one that made Tokusatsu/Toku shows into the hero styled stuff you see now. While Godzilla was the Forefather of toku, Ultraman is the Father of superhero toku.
Also for context, Ultraman is always about a giant of light/alien of light coming to alternate earths and such to help those in need. While they can be giant, there has been moments they need to fight on our level.
There's 3 Generations of Ultraman. The "First Generation", which is Ultraman to Ultraman 80. Ultra Q tho, is the prequel/start of the ultra series but revolves more around mysteries and monster sightings. Its kinda like The Twilight Zone in a sense before it evolves into the giants of light-esc heroes of the Ultraman you know now.
After The First Generation, we get the "Next Generation" which is from Ultraman Tiga to Ultraman Zero. And finally we have the "New Generation" which is Ginga to Decker and onward. These ones are fully about characters, their bonds with their Ultra's and more.

29:13 there are two types of humans that "transform" into ultramen. the first one is human host where ultramen reside in humans that they choose, so when the hosts "transform" they basically just switch places with the ultramen inside them. the second type is human form, which some ultramen have the ability to transform into humans themselves. so far it isn't clear whether all ultramen have the ability to transform into humans or just some of them. hope that helps

-Ultraman Ace. Easily the most underwhelming close combat fighter but he's the best when it comes to energy based attacks, he's nicknamed the "Guillotine Killer/Master" because he constantly cuts limbs off of enemies.
-Ultraman Tiga. Out of all the ultras, I think he's the most handsome one. He got a pretty face no? lol
-Ultraman Nexus. The helmet seems similar to a Samurai helmet, love how much more 'masculine' he looks. Since I'm a 'bigger' asian, he'd prob be the best one for me to cosplay, though Tiga is my favorite.
-Ultraman Mebius. This is the last season of ultraman that truly stuck to the original Ultraman universe, the Ultra Brothers, and overall a good show and good human team.

But we decided not to since we already did the pose jokingly wrong at the beginning of the video. I tend to do that a lot with Tokusatsu related reactions. Like when I did the Viewtiful Joe and Great Saiyaman pose while reacting to to Kamen Rider.
