This is gonna be a long one so it's fine if you don't want to read all of it:
Overview: Ultraman is a long-running Japanese superhero franchise that began in 1966, created by Eiji Tsuburaya of Tsuburaya Productions. It’s known for its giant alien heroes who battle monstrous creatures, using a mix of live-action, special effects, and cutting-edge tokusatsu (miniature sets and suitmation) techniques. The Ultraman series focuses on cosmic defenders called Ultras who protect Earth from alien invasions and giant kaiju (monsters).
    Key Eras and Series (1966-2024):
    1. 1960s-1970s: The Original Era(showa)
Ultraman (1966): The first and most iconic series. The story follows Hayata, a member of the Science Patrol, who merges with an alien warrior named Ultraman after a crash. Hayata uses a Beta Capsule to transform into Ultraman to fight gigantic threats. The series set the tone for future entries, with each episode featuring a new kaiju or alien menace.
Ultra Seven (1967): The second series, introducing Ultra Seven, another hero from the same Ultra species. This series is more science fiction-driven and darker in tone, focusing on deeper space themes.
Return of Ultraman (1971), Ultraman Ace (1972), Ultraman Taro (1973), Ultraman Leo (1974): These shows expanded the universe, introducing different Ultra warriors, each with unique abilities and storylines.
    2. 1980s-1990s: Expansion and Revivals
Ultraman 80 (1980): A new entry that revitalized the franchise after a brief hiatus, appealing to a younger audience.
Ultraman Tiga (1996): One of the most successful modern revivals, set in an alternate universe. Tiga was notable for using different combat modes (Power, Sky, and Multi types). It reintroduced Ultraman to a new generation and was followed by Ultraman Dyna (1997) and Ultraman Gaia (1998).
    3. 2000s: New Generation and Global Appeal
Ultraman Cosmos (2001): Focused more on peaceful resolutions and coexistence with monsters, this series highlighted Ultraman's moral growth.
Ultraman Nexus (2004): A darker and more mature entry with deeper emotional and psychological themes.
Ultraman Mebius (2006): Marked the 40th anniversary of the franchise, returning to the classic timeline and reviving many past Ultras.
Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle (2007): A unique entry where monsters are used as controlled combatants in battles, expanding the kaiju focus.
    4. 2010s: The New Generation Era
Ultraman Zero (2010): The son of Ultraseven, Zero is a fan-favorite character who appears in various movies and spin-offs, bringing in new viewers. His story arc focuses on his journey to becoming a powerful warrior and protector.
Ultraman Ginga (2013), Ultraman X (2015), Ultraman Orb (2016): These series reintroduce the franchise with modern CGI, new heroes, and deeper connections to the broader Ultra multiverse.
Ultraman Geed (2017): The son of an evil Ultraman, Belial, Geed fights to prove himself as a true hero, which explores legacy themes.
Ultraman R/B (2018), Ultraman Taiga (2019): More character-driven stories, introducing sibling Ultras and Ultraman teams, appealing to younger viewers while maintaining the core themes.
    5. 2020s: Ultraman's Global Expansion
Ultraman Z (2020): This series reignited global interest with an accessible storyline and polished effects. Z is the disciple of Ultraman Zero and inherits his fighting spirit.
Ultraman Trigger (2021): A spiritual successor to Tiga, this series brings back the multi-type transformation concept with modern CGI and nostalgia for the 90s era.
Ultraman Decker (2022): Set in the same timeline as Trigger, Decker continues to build on the cosmic lore and introduces new kaiju and technologies.
Ultraman Blazar (2023): The latest series emphasizes darker themes, with Blazar representing an Ultra from an alternate universe facing serious challenges.
Ultraman films and Netflix adaptations (2019-2024): Several animated and live-action adaptations, like Netflix’s Ultraman, help introduce the franchise to global audiences. These are often reimaginings or continuations of the classic lore in modern settings.
    Core Themes Across Ultraman:
Hope and Heroism: Each Ultraman represents the idea of ultimate heroism-selflessness, courage, and the fight for justice.
Kaiju Battles: Ultraman is famous for its enormous monster fights. Every episode typically features a new kaiju or alien foe for Ultraman to confront.
Human and Ultra Bond: Most Ultramen merge with or disguise themselves as human hosts. This dynamic explores the relationship between humanity and its protectors, with the human element bringing emotional depth to the series.
Moral Lessons: Many episodes convey messages about environmental protection, the dangers of scientific hubris, and the power of unity in overcoming challenges.
    For Newcomers:
    1. Start with Recent Series: If you’re new, Ultraman Z (2020) [a lot of people including myself agreed that this is the best ultraman shows yet]. These modern series are easy to follow and introduce key concepts of the franchise.
    2. Movies and Specials: Check out the Ultraman Zero movies or Netflix's Ultraman series for a more cinematic experience.
    3. Classic Series: Once familiar, watch the original Ultraman (1966) and Ultraseven (1967) for a taste of the classic era that started it all.
    4. Standalone Films: Occasionally, Ultraman films bring together multiple generations of Ultramen, making it exciting for both longtime fans and newcomers.
Conclusion: Ultraman, from its humble beginnings in 1966 to its modern CGI-filled battles, remains one of Japan's most beloved superhero franchises. With a rich history, multiple interconnected series, and a universe of heroes to explore, it continues to attract both long-time fans and new viewers alike, offering a mix of action, heart, and kaiju-fueled excitement.

I appreciate you for taking the time to share this peak knowledge, this goes deep and I see now why the show is so popular the themes are really intriguing and so are the descriptions for each Ultraman. Tiga, Trigger, and Decker seems interesting I like how they’re connected, I for sure gotta check out some more.

Honestly, trigger and decker was not very good because:
      1. Over-reliance on Nostalgia: Both series are heavily inspired by the 1996 classic Ultraman Tiga, which can feel repetitive to long-time fans. Trigger was marketed as a spiritual successor, but many felt it leaned too much on familiar elements rather than offering new ideas.
      2. Inconsistent Storytelling: Both shows struggled with pacing. In Trigger, some episodes felt formulaic, lacking deeper character development or meaningful stakes. Similarly, Decker was criticized for weak narrative progression, making it harder for viewers to get invested.
      3. Limited Character Depth: While Trigger and Decker had visually impressive action, the character arcs, especially the human cast, lacked emotional complexity. This made it harder for viewers to connect with the characters on a personal level.
But the action is still fun to watch l.
So if you want to start watching I'll recommend:
      -Ultraman rising(2024)
offers a fresh storyline and new characters, while respecting the franchise's roots, making it engaging(it's an animated movie and you can watch in in Netflix)
      -Ultraman Z(2020)
are perfect starting points for newcomers to the Ultraman universe. Ultraman Z combines epic kaiju battles with a lighthearted, fun hero, making it an accessible entry for new fans. It introduces modern effects and strong character development, with Z learning under the legendary Ultraman Zero.(It has 25 episode on RUclips btw and English dub available too)

@@WelcomeToPris To elaborate on the OP with one additional detail. Ultraman features an established multiverse. Most of the shows from the original Showa era take place in the same universe. This is considered the main universe, where the majority of Ultras come from. Just about every show after that takes place on an Earth in an alternate universe. Most of the time, the Ultraman of the show travels from the main universe into that universe. There are times when this isn't the case. For instance, Tiga and Gaia each originate from the universe they take place in. The origins of others, like Nexus and Blazar are mysteries that haven't been answered.

Most of the time Ultraman disguise as a human in the past to help human fight Kaiju but during the 2000s with Nexus and later series like Ginga we slowly have more human that borrow an Ultraman power becoming their host

Ultraman Tiga, Dyna, and Gaia are my favorites ones.
Then Cosmos has gentle side, first ultraman who repairs damage building from battle 😆 It has good ending song.
Then Nexus, although not popular in Japan, but in overseas it got it's fanbase because it has more mature story. First OP song is fire 🔥
