From there, check the games between the Yankees and Dodgers in the 50's, the 1960 WS deciding game, and the early 70's NLCS and WS. Thought I'd watch this since the end of an era happened today. Thank you Rizzo, Baez, Bryant. We will never forget!!! Go Cubs Go!! It FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!
In hindsight, today (12/10/24), none of those big 3 players had even better than average years/careers since leaving the Cubs. Not that the Cubs have been any good since they left, and today I honestly don't remember who we received in return for them. But they did give us 2016, and that was enough. We aren't greedy like the Yankees, Patriots or Celtics/Lakers.
This was easily the most "on the edge of your seat" games in all of sports and I was so damn happy for the cubs when they won it. It was historic, and we probably won't witness another game in our lifetimes like this. Even rewatching it pumps up my adrenaline!
@@sliat1981at this point let's not be selfish. It took them over a century to get ONE. It'll happen again. Hopefully without over a hundred years of pain and suffering this time.

I remember sitting in my apartment room, alone watching this game. I just the chair i was sitting on, the tv, and a towel I was constantly hyperventilating into. When that final out happened, I cried tears of joy. I called my Dad, we cried together. I called my girlfriend after that and she told me she loved me for the first time. Afterwards I drove 45min just to spend time with people and celebrate the win. I would love to relive this day.
my cousin jennie died of a stage IV brain tumor in september of 2016. she was the biggest cubs fan you’ve ever met. she loved kris bryant and died before she could see them win. we like to think she was looking down on the cubs as they won, and that they won it for jennie.❤️
My great grandpa was born in 1914 and had season tickets his entire life went to every home game he could and never saw them win. This was for every fan who waited for this moment and didn’t get to see it.
I didn’t realize the impact this game would have on me, didn’t realize me being a Dodger fan that year really didn’t matter, the Cubs and Indians brawled out in a World Series that would go down in the history books. Never knew I see these teams ever in my life time in the World Series and here we are. Still looking back at this game almost 7 years later. Seriously insane.

I'm from Pensacola Florida. I remember as a kid in the 90s watching Cubs games with my daddy on channel 9 WGN and Braves games on channel 7 TBS. I'm so happy to have witnessed both those franchises win World Series
Ben zobrist was so clutch this entire year… the playoffs he went ballistic… true legend. Also how many other players have won two different rings in a row with two different teams
2016 the world saw The Cavs over come a 3-1 series deficit to win in game 7 on Father's day to win its 1st Title since the Browns in 1964.... months down the Road the world saw the Cubs over come a 3-1 series Deficit to win its 1st World Series Title since 1908... what a heck of a year in Sports ... ill never forget 2016
I'm a Cubs fan and I was rooting for Cleveland end their long World Series drought in 2017 after we finally ended ours. The Indians came back hungry and 2017 and were by far the best team in baseball down the stretch heading into the playoffs. I'm not even a Cleveland fan and I felt sick after seeing the Yankees pull off the stunning comeback after losing the first 2 in that series to end Cleveland's dream in 2017. I hated the Yankees back then (and still do) but it sickens me even more knowing the cheating Astro's won that World Series.
Even though I am a Braves fan. I concider this the best baseball game of all time and find it really hard to believe ill see a better one. I have a terrible memory and I still remember this whole night
2:15:00 that is why baseball is a beautiful game. A players last game is game 7 of the World Series and his Home run is the reason they get to the tenth to eventually win. It’s enough to make a grown man cry.
I get what ur saying but just his home run isn’t the reason they got to the tenth. A lot of things could have happened differently even if they had that home run that would have resulted in them losing the game.
I'll never forget this game. This was the greatest series and game 7 of all time. I cry every time I watch highlights. This is baseball. This is why it's America's past time.

This game gets me everytime! I remember I was sitting on the floor in my dad's room, watching the game with him. I have been a Cubs fan for about 20 years, and I'm 28. I cried that whole last inning. I kept seeing it so close and then so far. My crying didn't stop. I cried all night long. It's been the happiest moment in my sporty life ⚾ I won't stop thanking the team for that moment 💚
I’ve seen a lot of baseball in my time. I saw the Mariners win 116 games in the early 2000’s. I saw the Red Sox do the Impossible and come back down 3 games to the Yanks and Reverse the Curse of Babe Ruth. I saw the Yankees crush my dreams year after year and ironically, their my favorite team now. But this was the greatest game I have ever witnessed. 🍺 ⚾️
I would say, this has to be the most memorable World Series of all time for me, between the team and the length of time between championships for the two, and the fact the two states are close, and the game 7 story, the cubs winning down 3 games to 1, the back and forth tight games and ultimately the end of a 108 year drought and Theo Epstein again ending a curse with a new franchise. And I’ve been watching every world series throughly since 1999, when I was 7 years old
I actually lost count of how many times I’ve watched this game… a beautiful sight to behold. And the introduction, showing fans of all ages from both teams, narrated by Bryan Cranston of all people… the PERFECT way to set the tone for this legendary Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. Then the tight game, the rain delay, and going into extra innings… making it all better. And finally, to hear the sound of the ball hit the mitt to end the drought, over a century of pain, mockery, and futility gone in an instant… the PERFECT ending… there’s no other feeling like it. And seeing those reaction videos of the Cubs’ WS win, especially of the old folks who’ve waited so long for that moment… it only makes it better. 11+/10 is my grade. 😊 Now if only the (In/Guar)dians, Mariners, Detroit Lions, Sacramento Kings, and even the Toronto Maple Leafs could end their long championship droughts and give their fanbases the same feeling the Cubs fans felt that fateful day… ☺️
I remember staying up late, walking around my grandparents tv room sweating over this game as it went on. Both of my grandparents were born and raised on the Cubs and all three of us were rocking in our seats as this game went into extras. Ill never forget that night or how I couldn't sleep after the drought was ended. Cubs forever.
We no longer have to hear these fateful words: Them Cubs. They ain't gonna win anymore! Courtesy of Billy Siannis. And one day, Cleveland's time will come, and soon.
Honestly, I don't care if you're a cubs fan or not (I'm a twins fan) but you have to give them credit. This has to be the greatest game of baseball ever played
One of the greatest series of all time. I watched every single one in its entirety from my couch while I was very sick. It was the only thing that really got me to go to sleep and make it through the day.
The Billy Goat Curse was finally lifted, and all of Chicagoland rejoiced! Thank you to every Cub on the 2016 team, and to every player and fan that worked hard to keep the hope alive during those 108 years!
Looking back, 2016 might have been the greatest sports year ever. Cubs winning after 100 years, Cavs 3-1 comeback, Pats 28-3, Leicester City prem champs, Nova buzzer beater to win Natty. 2016 in general was just insane

The composure to be able to make that play while at the same time knowing that will break a 108 year curse still blows my mind
Justin Sane as I love watching him stick that ball in his pocket and then go run and celebrate he knows that ball is gonna be worth millions to some rich cub fan😂
And those words started out with little meaning but ended with most meaning of all calls.
Probably the greatest call Joe Buck ever did
@@jonmarrie8093 YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN! Everytime my Dad has heard Buck pontificate for too long to the point of stupidity, the signal for the drinking game "Shut up, Joe." fills the house. Recently, during the Super Bowl, I followed in father's footsteps and had my first moment of saying those words and I hope that I filled my father with pride in doing so. Most hated commentator in the house.
This Chicago Cubs team was magical and those playoffs were magical. I swear it still doesn't feel real. It still feels like a dream! Can't believe it was almost 4 years ago
😊
4 years later, watching this again, restirred up every emotion of my being.

Man I’m balling again. This was so awesome. Waited 31 years I waited for this.
I'm on my 3rd rewatch and same here

5 years ago today. This was the best night of my life ever! Still get the goosebumps today. I will never forget this day when the Cubs won the World Series.
I had to turn in early, because I had to punch in at seven Central Time the next morning. Late at night I got a text that it had FINALLY happened after all these years.
😊
I’m an Indians fan, but I still think this was the greatest games ever played, good job cubs
Good fan
Good Indians fan
Yeah, besides the Cavs just won a championship that year. Doubt you'd feel much disappointment at the Indians losing after that.
Curse was broken in Cleveland for the cubs in extras then it was payed back to break the curse for the Cavs in game 7 in overtime...
Me too
Greatest game I'll ever see in my lifetime, Fly The W Cubs fans.
Darryl Jenks Are you still upset about Lisa dumping you, Darryl?
David Paul Planchard, yes very much so.
Darryl Jenks It's okay Bro. It looks like you with Patrice now? lol
David Paul Planchard, She understands me.
I imagine all those home weave sales have helped you cope with Lisa's loss. Just keep lettin' your Soul Glo Darryl.
Jays fan here. One of the best World Series games I've seen in a long time. Both teams played well throughout the series and deserved to be there.
ShadowBaofu Well said :) Both teams are winners. They both should get a trophy. Great game.
Andrew Miller was the ALCS MVP, and considering the lineup he had to shut down that was probably well-earned.
ShadowBaofu im a Jay's fan too
Thank ya 😂
Same here but I live in Chi town. This was truly amazing to see and I swear no one in the streets was quiet for the rest of the week
I'm a diehard Braves fan but I was raised on baseball. This is one of my favorite moments ever. I was cheering the Cubs all the way. I actually cried with that last out! Still an incredible game!
😊
This was one of the most meaningful sports events and championship games ever
😊😊
Red Sox Cubs White Sox all winning meant a lot...
Wow...MLB posted a full game? I'm impressed.
Anthony Ricci this game made history. Of course they did!!
MLB has posted every game the past like 9 years
Anthony Ricci I believe the rain delay was Devine Intervention. Gave time for Cubs to collect their thoughts and regroup to go out and win it! Great memories watching this game!
Usually do this on special channels for a specific season. Unless it’s important to the history of baseball, like what is seen here.
They should edit the commercial break screen out of it. Got kind of annoying fast forwarding threw them. Great game though! 😃⚾
I was too busy celebrating as a college senior during the interviews and award presentation. Just watched them all now - I cried. Boy, this win was special. The most important moment of my life.

This tops the Bears Super Bowl win and the Bulls domination of basketball in the 90's as the single greatest game in sports history for me. Gives me the chills STILL! :)
What about the Blackhawks dominance in Stanley Cup wins?
Or the White Sox world series lol, Chicago has a great sports franchise period.
Back to the Future was only off by one year! :D

Bryant smiling as he fields the ball is just insane
I thought the exact same thing. Ice.
And now he’s gone. 😭😭
@@CCoffey_2023 so is his MVP level play. It was time to move on.
@Daniel Le but he didn’t. The nerves of him overthrowing the ball were just because it was the final out. Any other play you wouldn’t think twice.
Thought I'd watch this since the end of an era happened today. Thank you Rizzo, Baez, Bryant. We will never forget!!! Go Cubs Go!! It FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!
😊
😊
There’s never been a bigger, louder, more excited reaction to the away team winning a game than this is sports history
SVP defined well about that crowd: It was a final four like crowd. Many cubs fans. The stadium was like 50-50.
It was really great
😊😊
Imagine if this happened at Wrigley 🤔

i'm not a fan of either team but this was hands-down the best world series and game i've ever seen, period. this is what baseball's all about.

I’m sorry
I’m very sorry for your loss
Sorry, dude.
That’s awful
Cheering for the cubs in heaven!
My great grandpa was born in 1914 and had season tickets his entire life went to every home game he could and never saw them win. This was for every fan who waited for this moment and didn’t get to see it.

As a cubs fan seeing bryant throw that ball to Rizzo for the final out always gets me really emotional. My favorite world series

4:02:20 rain delay starts
4:27:41 Zobrist rbi single
4:43:05 start of bottom of 10th

Yes it was. And even as a Yankee fan I would of been devastated if the Cubs lost
A Cub fan here watching again in October 2021. Still get emotional watching this.
Every once in a while, I'll come back to this...even as an A's fan...this feels like a fever dream. Like, THE CHICAGO CUBS, really won the World Series, in real life. It STILL doesn't feel real. And unlike the Red Sox, who became the team of the 2000's so far, them not even getting back to the World Series just enhances how amazing this run was.
Only time I’ve ever seen my dad cry in my whole life. He’s pretty sick now so anytime I get sad thoughts, I rewatch the final out and remember the memories❤️
😊😊
Still gives me goosebumps. And this is coming from a hardcore Giants fan. The Cubs earned this long awaited prize.

Art Aguilera the Lake Erie monsters won their first Calder cup since 1964 as well. Don’t forget that
Art Aguilera it’s was the year when teams were coming back from 3-1 deficit it’s called the miracle year
Also didnt the chicago Blackhawks do something like win a championship in 2015, 2016?
The way Zobrist was able to get behind pitches and seemingly just slap them wherever he wants was truly amazing to watch this postseason
Still brings a tear to my eye. Can’t wait to go to the dance again!! If not, we at least I got to witness one in my lifetime.
Greatest game I have EVER seen!!!
Thank you, Cubbies!!!
What did the self were you leave your backpack in had to do with this great game?
Very Classy of Cleveland to show the Cubs as world champions on their scoreboard. 😀
@Tony Mario I am sure they shared the same pain the Cubs have as both teams haven't won a World Series entering the game in 70+ years.

Even though I am a Taiwanese but I have been watching MLB For 7 years. This time is the most phenomenal world series in MLB
that I have never seen.

😊
Just watched this again. Cheered like I had no idea what was coming. Cried like it had just happened. Go CUBS!!
😔
😊😊
I would say, this has to be the most memorable World Series of all time for me, between the team and the length of time between championships for the two, and the fact the two states are close, and the game 7 story, the cubs winning down 3 games to 1, the back and forth tight games and ultimately the end of a 108 year drought and Theo Epstein again ending a curse with a new franchise. And I’ve been watching every world series throughly since 1999, when I was 7 years old
😊😊
I watch this on the loop every world series year now. Greatest moment of my life besides my children being born. Ill never forget this night
From a Tigers fan, Congrats to the Cubs on winning the World Series and beating the Tribe! It was a crazy game but you did it!! :)
I remember my heart sinking to my feet when Davis tied it up in the 9th but then my biggest joy of excitment on that final out in the 10th
Now if only the (In/Guar)dians, Mariners, Detroit Lions, Sacramento Kings, and even the Toronto Maple Leafs could end their long championship droughts and give their fanbases the same feeling the Cubs fans felt that fateful day… ☺️
For perspective on how long the Cubs had been waiting, Cleveland's drought would have to last until 2056 to match it.
Came to reminisce with my boys. Thank for the Memories Joe. You’re a cubs legend forever. We’ll be back! #FlytheW
5 years later, this still feels pretty damn good, all things considered.
The curse is broken!!! 108 years!! Cubs win!!!!
