- The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 3-2, in Game 3 of the 2018 World Series. It was an 18-inning affair that was the longest game in World Series history.

Especially since extra-inning games virtually never go as long as this. It's rare enough for an extra-inning game to go beyond 12 innings.

@@steveschmidt3961 I don't have to imagine -- I was here in Boston watching and still coming down from the adrenaline rush a few hours later when the sun came up. Thankfully the Red Sox bounced back from that crushing setback.

Ridiculous how clutch Max Muncy was. Doubling in the bottom of the 10th before Machado popped out to end the inning. Then tagging up on that popup play with Nunez going into the seats in the 13th, scoring on the Kinsler error. Barely hooking a walkoff home run foul in the 15th, then ultimately winning it with a bomb in the 18th. It is pure baseball justice that he got to be the hero...the game is fair to players who deserve it!

Same but…Game 6 in 2011 was better in my opinion.
Never have I seen a team win the World Series by losing a walk-off game...but that is exactly what happened here. The way the Red Sox came out of the dugout to mob Eovaldi after his 97 pitch performance in relief in a loss...it was pretty clear the series was over and the Red Sox would not lose another game.

I still didn't think I'd make it home to E Hollywood in time to watch any, but they kept playin, and when i walked into my place and turned the tv on i saw the last out! what a game lol!! I remember this epic game started at 7:00 pm and ended at 3:20 am in Mexico :v, now I'am seeing the wild card game

I could easily picture what one can do in seven and a half hours. Here's one. I'm watching the beginning of this game at the San Jose International airport in California. I board the plane about 25 minutes into the game, and takes off in half an hour. That's 55 minutes there. Then, we land at JFK Airport some 5 hours, 10 minutes later. I get off the plane, and I find out the game is STILL going in the 14th inning. 10 minutes after I pick up my baggage, I then take the JFK airtrain and then the Subway bound for Manhattan. It's an hour here. Now, I begin browsing the sights and skyscrapers of Manhattan seven hours and 15 minutes since the game started.......and STILL going. So, I take a seat at a section in Times Square to check the 18th inning on my cell phone at RUclips TV. Finally, Max Muncy homers to win the ball game in the bottom half. Point is, the game began when I was on the West Coast and ended an hour after I arrived on the EAST coast. OKAY! So that scenario never happened as I made it up. But I have visited NYC four times in five years......just not on the night of October 27 & 28, 2018 in the longest MLB playoff game in history.

You can’t say the Sox cheated until the report comes out. Every team had been using technology assisted sign stealing since it’s been possible. It wouldn’t surprise me if this has been happening since the turn of the century. Sox definitely did steal signs using technology, but so has every other Mlb team. This is the exact same as every major scandal in baseball. In the 90’s everyone did steroids and most fans, do this day, still turn a blind eye. When was the last time you heard about the 80’s cocaine scandal? Or how about the collusion that plagued the league for who knows how many years? This scandal is peanuts compared to what the league has had to deal with since its creation. And I can guarantee that whatever team you root for has stollen signs using technology befor. So stop trying to act like that the dodgers deserved to win either WS. They didn’t, get over it.
