That was my birthday and I was there. Someone asked me about my birthday and I said in the bottom of the 10th (before Freddie came up) that all I wanted for my birthday was a Dodger win… Freddie gave me the best birthday present ever! Every single pitch of that game it was either tied or a team had a one run lead. One of the best World Series games ever! 💙

....and they both have in common that they were not at their best physically, Freddie with his ankle sprain and Kirk with his bad knees. GREAT MOMENTS!!

I'm 70 and grew up in Orange County, always a baseball fan. Remember 63 & 65 some pitcher named Kofax, another named Drysdale, but I have never seen a better ending to a series game than this one. Wow! What drama, what a game! One pitch . . . smack! Two other favorites were Ryan no hitters at Angel Stadium, this game next.
Gibson's at bat, and the circumstances surrounding it (the A's were heavy favorites to win the series) was more dramatic, but both players and both homeruns will live in Dodger lore forever.

This 10th inning was the game...The previous innings were also great, a classic pitching duel for sure that set the stage for this epic 10th inning. Freddie's Granny was so surreal, though...so reminiscent of Gibby's walk-off back in 1988. GO AZUL!
