I think Treinen was the unsung hero of this entire post season, especially this WS. Getting out of the jam in 8th was absolutely electric. He definitely made Dave Roberts look great.
Treinen got us out of nearly every jam imaginable. He closed out a bunch of games when no other pitcher could. He’s a legend in my eyes what he did for us all of October.

For Fernando Valenzuela who would’ve turned 64 this Friday, Vin Scully, Tommy Lasorda, Jackie Robinson, all the Dodger greats who are no longer with us. We are the World Series Champions!
And there were sadly a LOT of Buehler haters saying he shouldn't have been on the playoff roster. LAD needed him and he delivered. They need to resign him.
They will let him walk. The dodgers have a treasure trove of young pitchers ready to go next season. May, Gossilon, Glasnow, Yamamoto, Miller, Sheehan, and Ohtani. Let’s not forget about Knack and Casparian as well.
@@Mike1122. Well, it's called an opinion for a reason. And my opinion is that he is finally healthy after 2 years and now is not the time to toss him to the curb. This was definitely a weird series. Neither really showed up for the most part, but they did contribute in subtle ways. Ohtani several times would advance the runners, get on base, etc. Nothing flashy, but effective. His presence meant pitchers weren't sure if they should walk him or not. As for Judge, obviously a game he'd like to forget. But I'm glad he did go off at least once, it was nice to see.
Love that Doc stuck with Trienen after his long stint in relief. He got through 2 1/3 innings and only gave up one hit. Then, he called on Walker Buehler to close out the ninth for the Championship Congrats Dodgers! It's been a long, wacky season, but you did it!

Been a long wait since my first time watching baseball and rooting for the Dodgers in 2021. It's probably longer for longtime Dodgers fans. This team is giving Fernando a proper send off with today's win, LFG Dodgers!
I think Giancarlo Stanton's first pitch swing pop-up to Mookie Betts with only one out in the eigth inning really took all the air out of the Yankees. He really helped the Dodgers out on that one....
Watching the regular season games all the way to the playoffs, our Dodgers deserved this so much. Walker Buehler. Cool as a cucumber. After a tough season post-Tommy John surgery, comes off the bench and seals the deal. No drama. No arm waving or fist pumping after each out. What a stud.

Similar to 1988. A walk off home run by a left hander in game 1. Buehler is a starter and came in to close it out.
