Totally with you. Grew up watching WGN and Harry Caray and singing along in the 7th inning stretch. The days of Grace and Sanberg. Flipping the tv two channels up and back down when they needed my superstitious help, which was A LOT lol
I am one truly blessed soul. There have been billions of souls that have resided in this region, attended the great games and truly loved the teams that play here. In my lifetime I've seen the Blackhawks become World Champions 4 times, the Bullss 6 times, the White Sox 2 times that I can recall, the Bears 2 times and now the most rewarding is this Cubs becoming World Series Champions. Every player that has ever played in Chicago will tell you that this is truly the greatest fan base in the World to play before! And I lived to see it all! There were so very very many that came and left before me that cannot say that. What a satisfying thrill it is! Too bad Ernie died the year before, but his number 14 was on full display for all to see! What more could a sports fan ask?
I am a Dodgers fan, but I have to say to the Cubs, good for them. They deserved that win. They finally broke that 108 year old drought on this special day, November 2, 2016. This was a very special World Series game because of this.
Both of these teams were class acts and deserved to win. As much as I was ecstatic bc my Cubs won I was feeling sad the next day for the Indians I hope they would win it all soon.
Seeing the time stamp on this video (5 HOURS!) reminded me that I was up very late that night to history made. Thank you for your hard work to entertain me make a lot of people excited and happy.
Montero didn't get enough love from the organization. He had arguably two of the biggest hits in Cubs postseason history. (4:30:56 and his grand slam in game 1 of the NLCS)
its gotta be a great feeling for any cub fan but i think mostly for those who have been fans for 30 40 years.. and finally saw them win it all.. I heard a story that a long time cubs fan died like 6 months after the cubs won the WS he was like 88 years old..
Be real, that should've been strikeout blown call for Hendricks was to make up for the should've been strikeout on Bryant and so much for bringing in Lester in a clean inning.
Yeah all us quarantined shut-ins with time on our hands, getting our sports fixes. This was one helluva game. Too many larger than life moments to count, so I'll just mention my fave. The last play of the game. The last play that's going to win the game. The last play that's going to bring a championship back to a franchise that's been waiting longer than any other, for that first sweet sip of champagne. They even bring me a reprise in slo-mo. That ball punched into the left side of the infield. Bryant swooping in to grab it, with a great big fat goofy grin on his face. Reaching down to pick it, with a great big fat goofy grin on his face. Spinning it off to that waiting first base glove, still with that great big fat goofy grin on his face. And right about the time it disappears into that first baseman's mitt, he just kinda settles down onto the turf, just kinda falls down on the ground, still with that great big fat goofy grin on his face. Just like he knew all along. That was one beautiful moment. It even put a great big fat goofy grin on my face.
They earned it alright. The Cubs were fighting the billy goat curse every step of the way this game. I could put together a highlight package with "Never Give Up" by Tori Letzler et al, that orchestral trailer music.
Well, there were some strikes called as balls for Hendricks and Lester as well. I agree that they should be called correctly for any team in such a high stakes scenario though!
It is too bad the game only lasted 5.5 hours. If only John Smoltz could have had more time to endlessly discuss how Jon Lester doesn’t like to throw to first base. Yikes, dude, let it go.
Absolutely no reason for Maddon to pulled Hendricks out of this game so early. After a crappy umpire called walk? Fun for TV dramatics. Terrible baseball instinct call.
joe maddon really tried to put his signature on this game. almost cost them, horrific managing. Who takes a guy out when he is dealing with 61 pitches 2 outs in the 5th. Then the squeeze play... and the awful decision to have chapman finish game 6 with a huge lead. I get it when it was close but when it was blown open, that was so dumb. Then the idiotic squeeze.
Before 2004 and 2016 the three teams in the MLB with longest droughts since winning the World Series were as follows the Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Indians who all three had the longest drought since winning a World Series title as of 2004 and 2016 you can scratch two of those teams names off of the list the White Sox and Cubs, Indians still have not won a World Series

Hard to believe a year later Chapman gets traded over to the Yankees and he replaces Rivera as the closer and the Cubs reliever Lester now is a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox
MLB game 7 2016
NBA game 7 2016
One of the greatest games in sports.
It never gets old. I will never forget this night as long as I live.
108 years of frustration FINALLY over! 😎👍
Eww old pussy
On my BD too !!
Your not kidding!

It’s April 2021 and I still watch this and cry every time!! Go Cubs go!!
I don’t think we realized at the time, but that lead off HR by Fowler was a good omen. And such an electric moment. What a game!
Thank you Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Javy Baez, I'll miss you all
So will I😥😥😥❤️💔💔💔
Kyle Schwarber and Aroldis Chapman
Montero's hit always gets overlooked.
I still cry tears of joy when I watch this game.
I still get teary eyes when I watch it.
As a Cubs fan I comeback to these videos and they never disappoint
Nerve wrecking game on both sides !!!!!
True, one of if not the craziest game i've ever watched/witnessed.
Both of these teams were class acts and deserved to win. As much as I was ecstatic bc my Cubs won I was feeling sad the next day for the Indians I hope they would win it all soon.
I’m a Red Sox fan and it absolutely KILLED me to root against Terry Francona.
I was at work when this happened, I know we weren't supposed to have our phones out but couldn't miss this
Seeing the time stamp on this video (5 HOURS!) reminded me that I was up very late that night to history made. Thank you for your hard work to entertain me make a lot of people excited and happy.

Because he was a minority.
@Madizzle90 I disagree he had good hits but was kinda a asshole
i was there in the stadium when he hit that grand slam and the stadium shook so bad i got scared lol. it was truly a moment i'll never forget
Great game i watch all the highlights every day go cubs
A game, a series, a moment never to be forgotten! It’s still feels wonderful every time I relive it!

I remember watching this game with my Dad & stepmom. I really enjoy watching this game. Go cubs go
The Cubs and the nationals game 7s are the best games in history.
I love watching the full game of the Major League Baseball World Series game 7 on RUclips since 2016.
Davis went thru soooo much different emotions n this game, checkout how many different scenarios he made some sort of play n this game !!
I love you Cubs
Forever Grateful to Ben Zobrist - someday be a Cub Coach please
Keep this up free forever! As it should be! At least until 2124!
SHIT!!!
@@JLamont45I’m not a Cubs fan but I hope they’re next World Series is sooner then 2124.
4:55:04. This right here will never be forgotten.
by any mlb fans

love it.. right now no sports to watch so i watch this.. best WS
I Love the Chicago Cubs ⚾️⚾️ BASSBALL
3:20:53 most clutch home run in World Series history but it’s not enough to stop the cubs
Yep.
4:55:06
The year the cubs won it all was the best year in all of baseball

Who else thought it was odd seeing Jason Kipnis in a Cubs uniform a few years after this?
LeBron with his shirt saying "Cleveland or Nowhere" ... OK LeBron
Great game, great opening package. One of the best World Series I've seen in years. This game is proof that baseball IS NOT boring.
I tear up when I watch that opening of that game
I knew this game was over in the first couple of innings when the strike zone for Kluber had become elusive af. Big love for the Cubs' fans, but jfc.
Well, there were some strikes called as balls for Hendricks and Lester as well. I agree that they should be called correctly for any team in such a high stakes scenario though!
Please win the world series championship for us Chicago Cubs 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
After that rajai homerun I could not believe it when the cubs scored first. What a roller coaster of emotions if fans must have felt.
When the cubs won with there World Series shirts on… I have that same shirt😃😅😁
I'll always watch the 2016 World series on my cell phone and my 2016 video!!!!!!
Does anyone know the name of that piece at 4:51:43 ? It’s so epic and dramatic it was a perfect selection for that moment of the game.
BEST day ever....EVER !! I was at game 4 at Wrigley. Still the highlight of my life (and they lost !). Wow.
When Davis tied it in the 8th i thought the Cubs were going to blow this.
Same here
And when Maddon pulled Hendricks on just 73 pitches.
3:20:47 i wish i could’ve seen this guy again after the ball cleared the wall.
Never gets old
5:04:03, that's the famous starts
Damn, Bryant's baserunning aggressive!

Can you imagine if the Cubs won Game Two at Wrigley?
My daughter's (2) being born. Watching the Cubs win the World Series. Getting married to the love of my life. In that order....

joe maddon the whole world was a CROOK! What slime
4:55:02 This is why you're here.
I wouldn't of taken Kyle Hendricks out in the 5th inning I would of let him give up a run before I took him out!!!!!!!!!!!

Kluber spent to much time licking his fingers, THAT'S why it didn't work !!
That wasn’t a road game for the Cubs by any means
I went to the series and I was sad
