Joe has been a comedian for like 3 decades, has consistently done small shows in LA all week when he’s not touring with people like Dave chappelle and has sold out arenas. My life experience taught me genetics are far bigger drivers in our actions and emotions than we ever realize. My dad and mom split when I was born. My dad was never part of my life growing up. Never even a photo of the guy around. I knew almost nothing about him. Then, at 26, I decided to find him and meet him. He was very much a stranger to me, but as I learned more about him, the more I was sort of blown away how similar we were in our actions and decisions in life. Even things that I thought would be something that is nurtured... like someones gait/walk or how they talk... we we're damn near identical. I was blown away. How the hell do I talk like this guy when I've never spent a second around him? I don't mean accent. I mean same cadence, volume, tempo, etc. Crazy shit. Same sports growing up, same positions in those sports, same paths took in the military and same paths taken post military. Someone might think it's me exaggerating or conflating some excitement with re-uniting with my father. But it's not. We aren't close. I don't call him or talk to him often. Maybe once a year if that. So it's not any sort of rose colored glasses here. I'm tellin' ya... genetics has a HUGE influence on us that we don't factor nearly enough.

I think there's a measure of both. There are differences in male and female nature and interests that are inborn. In general, we're not the same. However, I think in certain times and cultures, this has been abused to draw hard, fast lines around behavior for both men and women, the uncrossable barriers of "men must not do this and women must not do that....", etc. I think that's when it becomes an issue. But I believe innate differences exist. I'm a big car guy. Been driving and working with cars since I was 13. I was the guy other guys came to when they were stuck on a car problem. And I met very few girls who had any real interest in auto mechanics. The inclination just didn't seem to be there. But there were some. I had a female cousin and two friends who, at different times, asked me to teach them. I was happy to do so. I loved it. Being that there were so few with the interest, it was nice to be able to be a teacher to the ones who did. And my sister credits that fact that she's not afraid to drive any car, no matter how odd or temperamental, to the fact that it was me(and my strange assortment of vehicles) and not someone else who taught her how to drive.

Boys and girls are not the same from birth! Different body type and different characters because we came from evolution! We have instincts like every other animal! Have you seen animal cubs how they play around? That's practice of fighting for when they grow up! We have evolved to have men: harsh, tough, rigid and talented in building and solving heavy duty problems and women: soft, elastic, cunning, tough in enduring cold; birth pain and talented in cooking, sewing, raising! Society has been around only 10 thousand years but our evolution as human species has continued for millions of years you do the math! If we go back to nature man and women like it or not immediately instinctively fall to these categories and you also have an island survival episode of Bear Grills to prove it! The women were too cocky to listen to what the men said and they split thinking they were going to make it but what happened was the women were starving to death while the men had build a freakin fortress and were having a vacation when the women decided to go back to the men cause they just couldn't take it anymore! Yes sure there are exceptions on both sides, not every man is all of the above and not all women either but in an evolutionary perspective generally speaking this is how we got here, working together on areas that come naturally to us from physical and mental advantages and gene memory...

My sister is an electrical engineer, an anime geek, and a martial artist. Like you, she has many stereotypically boyish traits, but is otherwise very much a lady (enough for a few of my friends to be attracted to her). Conversely, there are boys who like to play with dolls. There are outliers on both sides.
But Rogan was correct: Overall, most boys prefer boyish toys and most girls prefer girlish toys. There are outliers like you or my sister, but the trend is real and it's biological.
The differences in hormones start very early, and it affects brain development, which in turn affects behavior.
There may have been societies where women were the aggressive ones who engaged in war, but they got wiped out because of logistics. A society where men do the dangerous things can outbreed the societies where women do those dangerous things. Dangerous things kill people, and the number of women dictates how many kids are born per year. You could have only a few (surviving) men breed with all the women, and the same number of kids are born per year.
A society where women handle the violence wouldn't be able to compete, just by sheer numbers over multiple generations.
This logistical truth isn't just for Humans. Look at social mammals and the same is almost always true.
This applies to bison and lions, which suggests that this strategy emerged during our evolution since before we were Human. Hence why males are usually larger, stronger, more aggressive, and lack the neuroticism (sensitivity to negativity and threat) that women tend to have. Possessing those traits makes dangerous activity more suitable to men.

In the Studies Rogan is talking about they took seven months old boys and girls and put them in a room with stereotypical toys, as he said trucks, cars, tools, dolls etc. And allmost without failure those babies gravitate to the toys that match the sterotype. They also did the same studies but with diffrent types of male and female monkeys, same thing happend, which is something you would not expect. They also filmed the experiments and I bet there are a couple of videos on here.

@UCK3JZPqkzvOUcYsWb9wx6OA No problem. They also, just to nai it down some more, did some tests with girls that have a higher than usual level of testosterone in their body, guess what that did to their toy preferences...
Sweden went above and beyond in trying to make their country as gender neutral as possible, Kids still prefer the toys that match their gender.
They also did the same with the job market, the difference in what job men and women choose did not equalize, no 50/50 male/ female nurse, nope. They got bigger, More men became engineers and more women entered the social job market. It's because when they were really free to choose, without societal pressure they chose the jobs that were more in line with their natural desire.
Those topics are a big ass rabbithole I jumped in there a few years ago and I don't think I have ever come out of it. Well yes I have, but it did change my view of certain topics to a degree.

I wonder if there is a cultural difference here. I'm from the UK and my 7 year old stepdaughter's birthday party was exactly the way Bill describes the boys at the kids Birthday parties he has been to. It was chaos 11 girls and one boy who was by far the calmest, probably due to being outnumbered. Maybe we just allow the girls to be as crazy as the boys here, maybe American parents are more lenient with the boys. I dunno. Don't get me wrong all of the kids at the party are good kids generally, but all of the destructive behaviours that Bill and Joe describe the boys of having the girls definitely have. I see no difference in the behaviour of my step daughter and her friends and the behaviour of boys her age. It kinda does feel like they are genderless at that age in that way. If anyone disagrees that's absolutely fine, I am just saying from my own parental experience of children that age, they don't seem to follow gender stereotypes. Boys and girls get muddy, break stuff and fight in pretty much equal measure. Maybe more differences start showing in teen years. I'll update you in about 9 years.

    • @jamesweible5357
      @jamesweible5357 2 года назад

There are many stereotypes parents pass on to their children, but in my experience, girls and boys are just as rowdy as each other, some of each sex are calculating, some are destructive, as a matter of fact, it usually is a stronger indication of the parent if a child is destructive. Sometimes girls are tomboys because their dads wanted a boy, sometimes they are tomboys because that's what they like. American kids are just as diverse as grownups.

So even though the may have been physically stronger than me they didn't have that mindset. We boys jumped from high up that broke our ankles or fought with sticks, catching spiders and so on. While they were always staying behind saying stuff like that's dangerous, you will get hurt and so on, only one girl did all the same shit we did but most didn't. To respond to your "due process" point, yes if he were going to prison he'd have to go to court and have due process. But if 12 women came out with allegations against your restaurant's chef one after the other, you may ask the chef to leave. The women may choose to press charges or not, but as an employer you're like "yeah this is too much, personally I don't think 12 different women conspire against you for no reason". And it's political, and this particular party is trying to stand against harassment, so he should resign. It's fine.
Generally though, Bill Burr makes a number of points that are half true even though they look like common sense. He should be in a debate with someone to really give him credit for an otherwise superficially good point he makes.

Your comment about kids and how it just ruins relationships is exactly how I feel about it xD
I see way to many people get kids without properly talking it through and preparing for what's to come. I think it takes a very strong bond and dedicated partners to handle having kids without splitting up a few years after. I see it happen so many times.
Before I even start to think about having kids I want to know that I am truly loved for who I am. That we don't have any underlaying grievances or things we do that we are fine with but find irritating. No bring it all up on the table. Lets talk about it. That way we grow and find a deeper attraction to each other. Then MAYBE we can have kids :P

I don’t think women necessarily attack their problems head on better than men particularly when it comes to relationships. Women look for distractions which is why they tend to have easier rebounds after they get done with a relationship, which in turn allows them to move on and get over it a lot quicker. For guys it’s much harder because we sleep with whoever we can get and women sleep with whoever they want. There was a study I read that showed where more than half of married women said they had a backup in case their marriage didn’t work out. There’s always a guy in woman’s life, whether she’s aware of it or not, that’s waiting for his opportunity to get with her, while for men that’s rarely ever the case
