I really appreciate how the moldings are contiguous. The copper was a brilliant idea❤ Thank you for sharing your thoughts and talents, you're amazing 💖
You have outdone yourself today Ria. This was a wonderful video! Your tutorial was perfect, and your vision for that piece was amazing. I couldn't have come up with that if I lived to 150. I love it and I'm sure you won't have it long. Thank you for sharing this.
Really glad you liked it Anita - there were times working on it i was not sure how my vision was but it got there in the end. It was really fun project for me. This piece has been sitting giving me inspiration for quite some time so happy with the result.
I have many moulds and like the ones you used. It’s a Japanese look but subtle. Did you sell it or keep it? Thanks for answering. I’ve never seen a busier and more knowledgeable lady. I’m 72 now and have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia so most of my restoring or refinishing days are done. I still have 3 pieces to do. Maybe my grandson will work on it with me. He has the equipment now. Keep up the great ideas and I’ll be watching and applauding! 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏾🙏🏼☝🏻
I sold this piece locally, the lady who purchased it was looking to change the look of her bedroom and this was the anchor piece for that change. Its sad to hear your restoring days are done, I am sure you have gained so much knowledge and I hope your grandson is willing to learn from you. I hope you enjoy the videos to come its hard to find editing time right but the next video is coming together hopefully be out next week.
Looks gorgeous 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 BTW…what did u find out about that other beautiful piece u had a while back that u thought was an antique…did it turn out to be an antique? And what have u ended up doing with it or to it please?
Thank you - for now that antique piece is in my home i gave it many coats of wax to protect it. Not yet had it appraised second guessing if i will or not to be honest with you. The lady i would get to appraise it is an absolute expert but that appraisal would cost 3 times what i paid for the piece. So i am still thinking it over. I've done much more research since that video i dont think it super valuable but its without doubt very old.
I knew this would be really bad for the brush so after starting with a round brush i decided to change to one a buy in bulk. The brush was ruined after but your right it was easier with the round one.
Hi thank you for great video…I was not so sure when you were adding the brown to the black…then I loved it🤩… then when you brought third color out I was not feeling it…the more you went along the more I loved it! How unique…I mean the moulds are gorgeous and layout is so nice…then add in the paint and WOW😍 I can see why you didn’t want to stop looking at it! Just Gorgeous🌟 If I may make a suggestion…when you are all finished could you show top and sides as well …it looked like you blended colors on top but was hard to tell. Also I have a question I have been meaning to ask you…what kind of dogs do you have? I’m wondering if the are Coton de Tulears….we have two a male and female 7 years old. Your dogs look a little smaller then ours but oh so similar….we live in Delaware and went to Nashville to pick up our pups…weren’t easy to find! I took an online quiz as to which dog would best suit my lifestyle and the cutie Coton popped up! Thank you for sharing great video😊kim
Thanks Kim glad you liked it, I still cant stop looking at it great feeling to know i did that. It really is a process for a long time it did look like it was not going to come together -got to trust the process. The top and sides are just like the front minus the moulds. I will do what i can to expand the end shots to cover it from all sides. As far as the dogs go they are Maltese which are so similar to Coton de Tulears just a smaller. My boy is massive for a Maltese but the girl is only 6lbs which its self is on the bigger size for the bread if you can believe that. That is one big trip for your pups but i am sure it was absolutely worth it. One is fun but two are the best kind of nightmare.
I knew doing this would ruin the brush I used it might have been two by the end. Which is why i used the Wooster shortcut when you buy them in bulk they are under $4, stippling brush would have been easier though.
one of my favorite pieces ever seen by anyone
That was my exact thought when I stood back at the end. I still cant believe it was my work.
Beautiful! Makes me want to go get busy....
Another Beautiful piece!!!! ❤️💫❤️

I was doubting you. But it turned out Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊 Its all about trusting the process but for a while there i was doubting my self too!
Never have seen the dark base paint with appliques and the added colors brushed on top make it special. Thank you for this wonderful combo of colors.
So glad you liked it - of all this piece I've done over the years this might be my favourate of all.

Alex’s final comment “we’ve got 9 hours of video saying it is your piece” is hilarious.

I am still in awe of this piece. I had a vision for it but this turned out even better than I could have hoped.

A piece with a lot of personality and drama!❤❤❤

Lovely work!
Thank you so much 😀

Looks like the clouds are moving in with a full moon over head. Have you looked at getting a stippling or stencil brush. It would be easier to use.
I knew doing this would ruin the brush I used it might have been two by the end. Which is why i used the Wooster shortcut when you buy them in bulk they are under $4, stippling brush would have been easier though.
You would get much more natural looking texture (and it would be exponentially easier to use) with a natural bristle brush.
Absolutely beautiful 😍
Absolutely stunning 💖
Thank you! 😊
