They sure make it seem that way but i think the major reason theve struggle is because the success if the blue album wasnt well known so fastly that made rivers felt pressured after the succes of the album they wouldnt had gone down the road they went in the 2000s

RIvers is a very down to earth dude that genuinely cares about people. I was in the official video filmed in Downtown Los Angeles. Me and a friend could not get back home to Van Nuys that night. Rivers himself came out of his own pocket and gave us taxi fare all the way back home. I have nothing but the greatest respect for Rivers Cuomo.
As weird as Pat looks playing guitar, it's pretty wholesome to see him and Scott playing next to each other, considering they're the only members of Weezer who are still friends.

The article quoted Rick Rubin saying that Weezer were the most dysfunctional band he'd ever worked with and that Scott and Pat were the only band members who even remotely liked each other. I'm sure it would create schisms in a band atmosphere. Cuomo seemed to direct his focus on meditation in 2005, which is better than turning to drugs or other dangerous addictive outlets. I hope he has found the peace he has been searching for.

In that interview, Rivers admitted that by the time Make Believe was in production and that Rolling Stones interview came up, he and the rest of the band wasn’t in good terms, but that nowadays, all of them gets along just fine. Rivers in that interview acknowledged that mediation played a huge role in helping him grow as a person and becoming a better band mate.

How powerful do you think the distortion is on the pick-up Brian put in that acoustic? The choruses have a nice fuzz and I'm thinking it can't be mostly Pat.
I can understand your frustration. You gotta go to some of their real old stuff. Go look up the blue album they put out back in '96; I think. You can listen to that whole album without skipping a track and you will be satisfied. That's the best assortment of music Weezer has ever put out. I hope that helps!
When I saw them in September of 08, Scott sang. And he doesn't have a bad voice but this song is meant to be sung by Rivers, as are most of their tunes. I wish he'd play guitar more, so they can get back to the original line-up.

The acoustic doesn't have any distortion
The acoustic does have distortion or even fuzz on it. Listen closely with headphones. The electric is panned right and the acousic left.
