Comes in handy more than ever when out driving long distances late at night & keeps me from hvng to continuously look away from road to find whatever song being wherever thruout setlist.
I understand your point but even with just simple aging, a man's voice can sound different in his early 50s than it did in his early 20s. Billy Corgan isn't a big drinker or smoker either. His voice is not the same.
I always forget about Weezer until I realize I know more than half of these songs hard. And you don't hear one wrong note out of them. They are so so locked in.

@@musicmania1263 weezer is an insanely popular band dude. back then and to this day. also rivers biggest influences are beach boys, pixies, and nirvana and you can hear a lot of that in the music - while yes bringing a lot of original magic to the mix.
That was a very very entertaining hour and a half of great tunes by a tight band who don't always get the credit they deserve from the music critics......they really rock.
@@thestradiosmiles I guess it depends on your perspective. I think he's talking about those arpeggios, and I've heard about loads of bands that don't play those kinds of arpeggios live because they can come off a bit sloppy. So I wouldn't be surprised if weezer did this too.

You can economy pick the arpeggios and that makes it a lot easier (Which is what Rivers is clearly doing), but even that is quite hard. I actually beg to differ though, I find the intro arpeggios much easier because I finger pick/hybrid pick them, but I find this other arpeggio section much harder because there are a lot of chord shape shifts to numerous sections of the fretboard - it's a lot easier to make mistakes here vs the intro.
I was there that day. We sat down in front of the stage a half an hour early just to be close to the front. My phone was dead and I wasn’t able to record the show but I was so thankful because I was living in the moment and I loved this show. I can’t wait for the next meadows
Attending concerts that totally pull you in are not often. It feels great for sure. I saw Ry Cooder in a club in San Francisco. It was wall to wall groove. I started doing the grateful dead hippy dance in a trance, something that never happens. lol
That's how we used to do it in the day when we didn't have cell phones, it was all about living in the moment I've been to countless concerts before cell phones were invented and those days a lot of times you couldn't even bring cameras in.
I have no idea how they can stay in tune for 65 minutes without a guitar change. It would help to use an Evertune Bridge, which is something I would do in their shoes. Never have to think about tuning live, ever again.
It must be because Rivers’ Warmoths have fixed bridges & locking tuners. Karl Koch (their roadie) said that his blue guitar never ever went out of tune

I grew UP in the 90s and never knew these songs were from Weezer...or rather... Never heard of Weezer as a band. Where the heck have I been? These guys are GREAT!
I was there and wish the sound was this good that day. For the first 5 minutes you couldn't really hear them. If you look closely you can see the crowd is not very energetic in the beginning.
it was a great show, the crowd only knew beverly hills which I booed during. I tried to cheer enough for whole crowd but I was hoarse by harmonica part in jonas. I was so stoned which was great. Then the chillie peppers came on and they were the perfect band to follow
Saw them at Blossom Theater with the Pixies bout 5 years back . Was really surprised how much I enjoyed there live sound. They finished set with paranoia by sabbath. Haha. That was cool.

But i see why a lot of people would be turm off by that especially the recording quality isnt as clean as blue. But EWBAITE and the white album are both great albums. Not as good as blue but still really good and enjoyable

But I'm not sure when they started that was supposed to be seen as cool. Don't get me wrong, it was definitely a marketing thing - the whole schtick was the nerdy, outcast, unrequited love vibe. And I'm not hating on it; I love the Blue Album and Pinkerton! With Rivers' direction, they've gone back and forth since the Green Album on being well dressed or trying to be cool with overconfident, boastful lyrics (maybe with twinges of irony) to the awkward, loser vibe. Each new album brings a wild ride to some other point on the continuum, all based on whatever music Rivers wants to write and how they manufacture their image based on the latest tunes.

My floating bridge Strat is so quick to go out of tune
If you have a good guitar and it's setup well it can stay in tune for days.
It also helps that most of Weezer's material is played tuned down by a half-step.
i'm a heavy metal death metal rocker fan....but i really love weezer's music....rivers voice is cool...lock like jimmy pop...hahaha!!!!
