I think because he tried to get Deogen "heavy breath" response (that, according to wiki, has 33% chance), so when he didn't get it you can notice he eliminated Deo from the list, but Phasmophobia is Phasmophobia, and for some reason this deep breath just didn't happen. You probably saw that after first hunt he went back to spirit box to check "wtf".
