That's a nice looking model, Stirling!
Thanks Alex!
Very nice locomotive and it's great that you saw the real version at the museum
Thanks Shawn!
so you're the one who gave me that cold. haha.
Lol!!! XD lord I hope not! I didn't have it when we met up.
I love it
Glad you do 😊
Have two DC UPs - manual says all E units have lighted number boards in DC - not the case here. Also, why are there no numbers in the number board? Asked Rapido - no response - they could have at least provided some deck-als.
Also, the grills were loose out of the box - they’ll send replacements, but why have to “repair” a loco that was defective from the start?
I’ve been thinking about getting the 6901 from rapido. Guess we will see how the funds hold up after the train show in Atlanta this weekend
Honestly I'd get it if I were you.
Now we’ll have to do a side by side comparison of your Rapido E8 next to my Lionel E9s next time i’m down there. Although as we discussed yesterday i have to get those running again. Beautiful model by Rapido for sure! Excellent review buddy!
Thanks man!
Great model raven this is a great model of a real engine you've seen. (maybe a little bit nicer than some of the stuff Lionel offered in the lastest catalog). okay there were only some things that interested me but much of everything was overpriced or I had no interest. (if I had to pick what interested me were the boxcar for the chessie system's 50th anniversary and the es44ac's and one of the nw2 switchers). the es44ac unit I was leaning towards for a maybe purchase was the Kansas City southern safety starts here unit I always liked that one with the silver paint I just thought it was a sharp unit. (and the other kcs unit with the breast cancer awareness pink ribbon was nice as well I didn't know if that was a for real thing but it is). and the nw2 I liked a lot was the Indiana harbor belt switcher (I always thought the ihb was a interesting operation mostly with the switchers). and I sort of leaned for the fantasy es44ac (the one I was leaning was the Burlington northern unit I guess that would look like a what if if bnsf would do heritage units besides the 25th anniversary units). and the c&nw units (those are pretty close to the c44-9ws that looked like that with the operation lifesaver logo). so that's pretty much what I did like from the catalog. though everything was more expensive in this one and I was hoping for a different variety but not much). I can say that this is a lot nicer than some of the stuff offered from Lionel this year.
Yeah the gevos were nice and the ACWR E units are cool too.
All my side screen grills were loose and not straight on these e8s from rapido
3 dcc units at the cost of $770 and 2 dc units at the cost of $300
Very poor quality
