I game these currently. These things are absolutely butter when you hit them well. Extremely forgiving but also very workable. Awesome set of clubs.
I LOVE that these smaller companies are challenging the larger ones. When you can find quality clubs for literally 1/3 the price as the big brands thats incredible, even if they aren't as good as the other ones, the price point makes it worth it by far.
The real budget is the Ram Accubar set that has Driver, 3w, 4hy (24 degree), 6-PW, mallet putter, bag with dual shoulder straps/stand legs/rain cover for about $239.99; you can also get one with all of that plus a 3 hybrid (19 degree)...plus available in steel and stiff and 1 inch longer.
Gabe I totally agree on the outrageous prices people are paying nowadays. Callaway, Taylormade and Ping are well over $1000 for 7 clubs. Titleist has really went up. The T 350’s are around $1500. I paid $799 for my Wilson Dynapower irons and love them. Those Ram irons are very clean looking.

I bought the new fx77 last year and definitely happy! I’m a casual golfer so for me I didn’t need premium set. They’re super forgiving and great performance for the money. Came with Lamkin grips and kbs steel shafts. Was a pretty good upgrade over my first set of burners.
I bought a set of Takomo 101 irons this spring. I'm more than happy with them. Easily as good as the 2010 AP2's I retired. $500!!!
Seems like Takomo, Sub70, Caley, and these all come from the same cast mold. No idea, but sure looks the same.

Ram are the cheapest of the lot I think - would be interested if there is any performance difference between them
I'm a mid handicapper (about 15 but I play like 3 times a year, so not very consistent). I bought this set about a month ago to replace some 30 year old hand me downs from my dad. Obviously they're a huge difference, and I'm happy with them, but agree that if you got the money, from what I've seen on reviews, go for the takomo's. I get good forgiveness from these clubs and they feel good on impact, but I think the distances are suspect. For example, the yardage of my new PW was on average around 155 and the 9 iron was 165, 8 iron was 170 and 7 iron 185. Just really odd that theres a 10 yard, 5 yard, then 15 yard difference between each club number. I wish every club had a 10 yard difference in carry between them to make it easy, but now I don't have a 175-180 yard club. Would I recommend this set? sure because of the price and having never hit another DTC set, but if I had tried the takomos, sub 70 or other brand side by side, I'd probably not be as happy with these.
Love your videos Gabe! Always get an honest review. One of the comments mentioned that Tom Watson played Ram clubs. True. Last year one of our older neighbors was moving and asked if I wanted a set of clubs. Sure! They were Tom Watson Ram irons with the Ram bag - all in really decent condition. Probably from the 70s? They do need grips so I will let you know how they perform when they're regripped. Keep those videos coming!

Yes yes yes! You are reviewing the fx77! I think I asked for this some time back! I was going to purchase these but wound up with almost new takomo 101 for 400.00

Played Rams when I was a kid and they were good clubs. Glad to see them back. My grandkids would be a good fit for these and probably myself
Many moons ago!!! I bought a RAM package set from the TGW. That was my FIRST brand new set. My first set was a mix match set from a pawn shop. I loved those rams, a lot of good memories..

I got a chance to try the stiff graphites l,and was impressed. I have Apeks CF16 s graphite stiff. I couldn't see much difference. Well done RAM.
I really appreciate you reviewing these clubs ive been waiting for someone like you to do a review on these as ive mentioned these to you before, as always your honesty is what makes these reviews to show the difference when buying clubs, as you know I'm in the uk and I'm off to the final round of the BMW at Wentworth tomorrow you looked all alone out there on your course are the free fee expensive where you play.

I love all of your videos. Very valuable information trying to navigate what is best for our swings. I have an 11 year old set of Mizunos JPX 900s. I love them and don't have a problem with distance. I play to a 12 and hit my 8 iron 155-160. Just because I would love a new set of irons, I'm loving the Takoma 101s. Do you think I'm going to see a HUGE difference in forgiveness? Part of me thinks just stay with what is working but hey who doesn't love a new shiny car, right?!? Thanks for any advice you can offer me.
The JPX line is pretty forgiving. I don’t know if it would be substantial enough to warrant the switch to be honest.
I actually still use the old FX2 forged. They have been good but I just bent the 5 iron. I’m looking at new set and maybe these are for me. Weekend warrior. 😬

Until 5 years ago I played the Ram FX Pro Set for over 15 yrs. They were great clubs. These are somewhat intriguing.
Own these clubs and love them. Very forgiving and look lovely

101st comment lol last time i was 100. Late to the game as always these days. Great video Gabe! When I switched from my Rams to my M2's my game changed drastically. I would say within 3 weeks I dropped 10 points. I would choose to get a slightly used set for a similar price over the Rams. Just me, as some would def prefer to have new clubs. Look forward to the next video

I am somewhat surprised that Ram is making a comeback, but I am happy nonetheless. My very first set of clubs came from my father who played an old set of Rams. I don't know if I could hit them even today, the faces were so small. However, these clubs look to be half-decent.

Gabe another great video Sir. These do resemble the Takomo. I certainly agree golf for us not so great golfer is CRAZY if we can get new clubs that work for such an awesome price then these or other like them are a go.

Rise cost are the only job's, to stopped, some of the stuff...and low down some stuff too.( Golf balls are cheaper,wood driver's, too .irons are the best tools , that need to be share, with, collection with ...so ,...rise cost are good new !!!

Watching your reviews I get the impression you were a little more impressed with the Caley's but also get the impression there's not much between them and the Takomo's

I think the Takomo have a better feel, but the value category is definitely in the Rams favor. Everything else is pretty equal.

I really love the look of a player iron but the forgiveness of them to. I’d love to have these than my burner 2.0s that were giving time by a guy who was 6’4 and I’m only 5’10 so I feel like the longer shafts and the cp2 grips kill me plus I need steel shafts I’m playing graphite shafts. Please RUclips gods let me win these because I live in valrico Florida you’re right down the road. Please RUclips gods let me win so I can meet gabe to. I’d love to win them then hit them office for the first time that would be the biggest win!!!

Am I crazy, aren't these RAMs just carbon copies of the Tokomo 101 irons?
If you take a good look at any dtc hollow body papers distance iron, they’re identical except for the badging. I think they’re all made by one company and individually branded by the company putting them out
@@ryanwalters694 I was thinking the exact same thing.
There is definitely a prototype that they’re based off. Each of them are just very slightly different, but likely made in the same place, or come from the same stock design. Surprisingly, they each perform slightly differently in my experience.

You really cant give a good analysis on the clubs that you test...you rarely hit it solid twice in a row..
That’s an interesting take. Does a robot tell you what it’s like on a miss-hit? Or how the club performs when you hit a draw or a fade? When it is thinned or fatted?
All clubs work really well when you hit them in the center every time. It’s how they perform with less than perfect contact that actually matters.
