I think cops are doing this on purpose as a sign of solidarity. If charges are brought on one officer, they have to be brought upon all of them. Maybe not...but I wouldn't blame them with how things have been going lately. Definitely less than ideal with his colleagues in front though.
I think they made the right call laying into him like that. Nevermind that he got what he deserved, by that point best to make sure he's dead. Like putting down a sick dog. If he somehow survived he's going to live a horrible life. Make sure he's out of his misery so he's not gurgling for life for hours.

As a former 911 dispatcher, I've taken quite a few calls, usually in the beginning of July or the end of December, where the caller had mistaken fireworks for gunshots. THIS video, however, with over half a dozen officers peppering up this buffoon rather nicely, is the first time I've heard gunshots that I would mistaken for fireworks xD haha

You think it ends with just the person dying? No, they probably have friends, family, etc which would just start being mad at the system and cops. The US doesn't value mental health issues. Nordic countries for example have the lowest rates of recidivism, and that's due to their focus on rehabilitation, the US focuses on punishment which just leads to tax payers being burdened more.

Headshot marksman had to pull away from optimal shot to give the hostage as much safety as possible. The yelling, flipping, and bouncing around on the ground suggests the headshot may not have proved fatal.
That always blows my mind when I see someone get pulled over for going 20 over, tints too dark, registration. and they end up having 20 lbs of meth or something! If you're going to traffic drugs and do any of what's mentioned above...lol! DARWIN AWARD WON!

I’ve seen this one before. First off, the hostage was really a willing accomplice as made obvious by her reaction when her “hostage taker” was killed. Doesn’t change any of the decision making, but worth noting how scummy criminals and their accomplices are. I think they did a decent job, good marksmanship and decision making by the rifle officer. This situation was a good candidate for a hostage split. This technique taught to swat teams involved pushing two to three officers aggressively and quickly in opposite directions and toward the suspect. He can only face one of them and as they move in one of them will definitely get a clear shot. I’ve been the hostage taker roleplayer against this tactic and it was very effective. It totally screwed my ooda loop and I couldn’t decide where to look or who to shoot and two seconds later I was lit up by sims. Sadly patrol officers are rarely trained in such aggressive and high risk/reward tactics.
