This feels like a fight that shoulda been fought with a rifle
Agreed it is rare now a days they dont have a rifle, hell even a shot gun with slugs.
Anytime an officer gets dispatched to an active shooter call they should grab their patrol carbine!!!
A full auto MP5 with optics would have done wonders
@@LucasDaRonco and probably killed civilians if cops are spraying at torso level
@@oneperspective8601 anymore than the tons of pistol shots sprayed in that direction anyway?

patrol rifle with optic would have helped a whole bunch
“It’s impossible to miss a target fast enough to win a gunfight.”
“Check those corners!”
Both have one rapid fire to keep them from being distracted and have one take precise shots 🤣
This is a great quote and probably should be added to ASP’s quotes. 👍
I love the second officers cam, helps a wounded man then runs toward danger to take out this piece of trash.
You say that until it’s you on the ground with a extra hole in u God didn’t put in
@@PROVOCATEURSK Sometimes it's that very thing of free will that makes a good person eventually turn into a bad one. Of course tho, we can't have good without the bad tho. Honestly wonder what caused this man to choose such a violent option. Usually people tend to not want to kill people unless they're not aware of what they're actually doing (drugged up and such and/or experiencing psychosis) or they've been through horrible amounts of trauma.
I agree with Texan.
Any man who takes upon evil unto his fellow man is neither a child nor blessed nor right. Dont glorify a murderer.
The area wasn't secure yet. It worked out that time, but the shooter was close enough that he could have used that as an opportunity for an ambush.
absolute savage
These officers had no lack of courage, thats for sure. Their skills and equipment were on the weaker side, but through guts and numbers they won in the end. This is just a reminder how badly law enforcement needs better training and equipment.
Something like this never happens in Normal (Bloomington gets all the action). These guys probably never dealt with something like this outside of practice and the adrenaline got the better of them.
"Defund the Police"... wait that's done with funds and resources, and now they're getting targets painted on their back by social media. It's only gonna get worse, less combat vets and more fresh out the defunded woke academy who get ambushed on their 1st shift.
They worked together pretty damn good. Love how high and mighty all the people that don't do this sort of work are.
Good thing they’re getting defunded
So much for defund the police haha
After watching this video. My thoughts where that the bad guy would have fired less shots if at least 1 of the officers had a rifle. I think this situation is one reason why police departments have the AR 15.
Well yeah but I think they didn’t have time to grab their rifles. Just jumped out right into the action.
That's nonsense all you need is 1 or 2 shotgun shells. Biden says so, so it must be true.
Let's go Brandon🇺🇸
That’s on them though they have however much time they took to drive there plus dispatch no shot a single one of them didn’t have time to get a rifle
Okay I wasn't going to respond to the ( they didn't have time comment) but I half too. You must know I'm on the side of the police however. There rifles are with in right hand reach. In the cab. So that's not a strong argument.

@John Marston I'm sorry, but how would you feel if your house was one of those and you walked into your room with a bullets that happened to hit your pillow and your office chair? It'd be kinda terrifying. This is why people criticize people so much if they miss a lot. Even if they were lucky to hit no one, it doesn't mean that anyone in those houses was not put in more danger by those missed shots.

Wow those officers showed no fear and saved lives. Great teamwork covering each other and separating the killers attention.
This dude handled getting a tourniquet applied like a boss. Either the cop did not apply it right or that man is an absolute beast. I choose to believe he is a beast.
He's in shock, just listen to how he was talking.
Did he die?
Hard to tell through the blur but it didn't look like he cranked the windlass
Was looking for this comment. That was the first thing i thought. Dude must not feel the pain cause that shit hurts when done right.
Always believe they are beast but was not applied correctly.
I have to disagree with one of your opinions on this video. That the officer shouldn't have stopped and applied a tourniquet. There was enough law enforcement on seen tracking the killer for this officer to stop and save a life and then rejoin the fight. I think he did an exceptional job balancing patient care and going after the threat.
I agree. To protect and preserve life.
Agreed, if the victim needed a tourniquet it's possible he'd have bled out by the time they shot the bad guy and got back to him.
Yeah, I"m with you on this one. At that moment when you see a bleeding person and your partners are out chasing the shooter, you take care of the medical first. Although I would have told him to move to X direction, away from the action so that he doesn't find himself in the middle of it since the active shooter is mobile.
Wrong first lesson of first aid is to remove the danger. This is what they also teach in the millitary. WIN THE FIREFIGHTER. Then and only then do you apply first aid.
As it was said, deliberate shots.
Slowing down those splits and making them count will stop the threat quicker than spray and pray shooting all day long.
Especially in a trailer park, zero protection in those walls.
A good shot with a slug from a shotgun or a Rifle would have put him down and no need for them to have to get close to shoot him with a pistol.

No blame for anything here. This level of stress turns off your thinking and you revert to training. If you haven’t been trained, results may vary…
That’s one thing people dont understand in comment sections in a lot of videos like these you can’t accurately predict how you would act in situations like this because once it’s a gunfight and life’s are on the line it becomes much harder to think than when you’re calm
Sadly too many police and deputies train just enough to qualify. Either because of budget (most training is focused on politically decided goals) or ego.

I definitely would of wanted a long gun for this, modern optics have made it to where a shot at 25 yards might as well be up close it’s so easy to hit and under stress the ability to put the circle ⭕️ on him and just pull the trigger takes off a lot of stresss.

Officer at 5:05 "is he down?"
Same officer at 5:06 answers his own question. Now he is!
In spite of some obvious shortcomings, I have to commend these officers for their bravery in pursuing a lunatic killer. The point of not having a long gun is salient, the fight would likely have ended sooner had even one of those officers had a rifle.
Yeah this was hard to watch,, I thought it was about to be a friendly fire situation,, these officers need a whole lotta more training
I like this channel and all, but the nitpicking on here is sometimes uncomfortable to watch. Its easy to criticize from the comfort and safety of our home. These cops did an excellent job in the simple fact that they had the balls to put this dangerous individual in the dirt.
I'm not sure they're saying they did a bad job per se, just pointing out the areas for improvement for all to learn from. I fully commend their actions and bravery, and they were in the end successful, but that doesn't mean it was perfect and there can always be something to learn. At least, that's my opinion on it.
Don't be so sensitive. Nitpicking after the fact is part of training to always improve. There's always room for improvement. You train to be perfect because you'll never be perfect in a real situation.
Constructive criticism
It's not just criticism, it's constructive criticism. There are many officers out there who suffer from a lack of training, and ASP can serve as a sort of training. It's all for education and not intended to "backseat cop"
It's not nitpicking. Those were multiple serious errors and mistakes.
Yes, they overcame the mistakes with bravery and numbers and speed and violence of action but that doesn't mean they could not have done a lot better with common training practices.
"Active Shooter"... Uh OK, let's engage him with my trusty handgun. All active shooter response should be with long guns. Still wondering why officers don't carry SBRs?
Honestly probobly budget cuts for lack of training because most of the time they require a separate course. Or department policy may require some circumstances
Great point. I think a big limiting factor is definitely budget
While I agree, a lot of times that requires the unlocking of an officers rifle lock. Or going to the trunk if they only have a squad car not an SUV. When people are actively dying due to this guy like that one guy the officer applied a tourniquet to, who was probably one of the people who died. Time is of the essence, besides with a good amount of skill. Unless the threat has a rifle, a pistol will do just fine. This one of the rare circumstances where they needed more than 10 - 15 rounds to fight.
@@TemptationsEnd im not sure the individual they applied the tourniquet to is one that passed away- as it says the 2 individuals that were killed were both women (other than the perp) and while i agree they shouldve brought the rifles out for it, i dont know as it was anything other than "time management"

yup that's reality for you. Lol it happens in war too. You'll have 5 guys just shooting at a guy with rifles and then after 30 seconds you finally get the confirmation that he's dead. It's crazy. At this point cops should bring rifles to any kind of gun-related situation lol. scary

Tourniquets hurt like a mf. Hero cops runnng towards the gunfire and doing a excellent job at keeping it professional
I guess the adrenaline but that amount of shots towards a house with unknown occupants is cringy
It's one of the main things I think about n these situations, and rarely hear about the outcome of this point. I'm shocked no one grabbed a long gun of any kind. An AR is relatively small and easy to have and deploy, and not too expensive considering it's usefulness. Although it's one of the smallest center fire rifle rounds, the 5.56mm has been quickly dropping bad guys for a long time. Well placed 5.56 hollow points could've stopped this monster sooner.
I wouldn't call most cops "highly trained professionals with a firearm" most of the cops I've seen shoot couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, the vast majority of police aren't gun people, they go through the academy and qualify once a year at most.

At 15:10 yeah, agree 100%. A 50 yard hit with a properly zeroed AR even on irons is a low skill shot, nevermind a 25 yard shot. An AR would have stopped this almost as soon as they arrived on scene. Maybe after this the department will invest in a few.
Apparently "shots fired" needs to be eliminated from training, or at least deemphasized and placed as an after-action response only.
"Shots Fired" is a call for support (more and/or better weapons systems). He called for support when he was not in the field of fire, so that is a correct call. If you are directly under fire you should wait until you can safely call for support. Using cover/concealment to your (tactical) advantage (as displayed in his call) is important part of training; this should be taught and exercised.
