Where are all the church mothers today? They're not speaking out like they should. I'm a man and I fully agree with this church mother. I'm in my late 70s and I can teach these young men a thing or two about living as a single man until they find their life's mate. Young brothers got no business having a woman as a prayer partner. They've got no business going over to a sister's home or apartment without some chaperonage because you just fall into some mess.
While I agree that we need more sound teaching about these issues, as a woman who was the side piece, a chronic adulterer, and shacked up with one baby daddy, I'm not sure this is the best way to deliver these teachings. My behavior stemmed from trauma and a severe fear of rejection and commitment. Most women who love Jesus are in the same emotional position. What I needed was what I got directly from the Spirit of God, because no one was teaching it: "You are a daughter of The King. You are better than your behavior and deserve better than the crumbs these men are giving you or using you for. God's grace is sufficient and MORE than able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless brfore Him who called you." I had to walk that journey alone and overcome my sinful ways in a vacuum. It was way more difficult than it should have been.

Some ppl perfer gentle approach while others may respond better to straightforwardness. Regardless of style, we should always praise THE TRUTH. I appreciate that you stated clearly where you started and I'm glad you let God lead you to a path to becoming the woman he created you to be. The enemy tries to destroy, break, or discredit those with a strong calling. Moses. Joseph. Samson. Jesus... I think the Holy Spirit may have her to speak to some people that need that kind of straight-no chaser style. The Holy Spirit is sensitive enough and intelligent enough know this might not be the approach you needed. Just like children are different - one kid only requires a look or a word, the other needs a little a stronger rebuke or a spanking/whipping to bring that lesson home and break the rebellious spirit, without breaking the child. The problem does come when you use the wrong technique on the wrong child. You can do damage, or it may have no effect. In the past, I have had a few women speak truth, but in judgement, not love. Some damage was done, at a time when i was vulnerable and I also had a terrible fear of rejection. I think those women were saved, but not being led by the Holy Spirit. But i think it's made me more sensitive. I don't speak from pulpits, but just try to show love, care, and interest to whoever God puts in my path. I don't know how or where God will use your history and your experiences to reach others for him, but the bold way you stated your testimony - everyone can't do that. There are people ONLY you can reach in a way only you can do it. Maybe one, one hundred, one hundred thousand. Only God knows. But I believe he brought you through so you can show the way for others to follow. Kinda like Harriet Tubman. I don't know why that came to mind, but there it is!❤ 💕❤💕❤💕❤ PS, i don't know if you're married yet, but I bet you're an awesome mother and are/will be an amazing wife for the man God gifts with you.

However, just like children in the natural, there are certain discipline measures that simply don't work, regardless of the type of child you are dealing with. Specifically, research shows that yelling at children has little to no positive effect on their behavior or their feelings of being loved. It is a useless discipline method. That is what I have observed about this type of approach to correction. I've grown up with this type of teaching that shames believers, calls on them to regularly and publicly relive their past through "testimonies," but never really disciples them in how to walk truly free and victorious over their strongholds. For example, when I was a teen, there was this lady in our church who was a former s-x worker. She was "encouraged" to regularly get up and testify about how God "delivered" her. But I found out by accident, that she was secretly still struggling with her s-xu-l addiction which has turned into adultery. But how could she possibly say something to anyone about this? They were all so perfect and proud of their sanctified lives and she would have certainly been called out. To this day I feel such shame for her...and myself for just witnessing her fall from grace. She's probably with Jesus now... I have only met one person who grew up or was saved under this type of teaching who was actually set free or walked a clean life as a result of this type of teaching. One. And I've been saved for over 40 years. One. Person.
