If you have this issue here is what to check: Documents folder > gothic3 folder > open up useroptions.ini with notepad > "VoiceLanguage=English". If it says Russian or anything else, just change it to English. You can also check SubtitleLanguage and Subtitles, if you have problems with lost dialogue or language. They should be: "SubtitleLanguage=English" and "Subtitle=true" - There is no English voice acting for new quest/content. You can enable the mod in Union called German or Polish voice over, which includes voice acting for new content, but we still don't have English vo. I was there, Gandalf, when this game released full of bugs and issues. I used to play a lot regardless, and now, after nearly 20 years, I play again. The modding community is awesome!
Played that shit with 1gb of ram back in the day and the amount of crashes was insufferable. Still the atmosphere of the game dragged me through it. I blame Kai for it
IIRC one of the reasons it was so unoptimised on launch and why it was so hard to fix was because of its graphics and no-load open world (apart from other, more minor factors as well). It still holds up and manages - just liek you've said) to be atmospheric at the same time, even after 18 years. More than impressive, I'd say!

That's what I said on his earlier videos and I am 38...I never wanted to be an content creator but I used to be just like click4gameplay on the gaming side...always digging around for obscure games and especially RPGs on my old PC...in my country people don't value RPGs especially old obscure games...good to see people in other parts of the world value it way more...so far click4gameplay is the owner of this virtual museum alongside good old games

Gothic 3 is proof that music in an RPG is one of the most important parts of it. This otherwise broken and mediocre game would never have received this level of community attention without it.
While I can't agree on the "wouldn't have received any attention" part, cause, y'know, it's part of the gothic franchise, I have to agree on the music part. Kai Rosenkranz is a goddamn genius when it comes to music.
I don't know, the music itself is great on its own, and I come back to it much more often than to the game itself, but it doesn't really blends with the gameplay well. I think the overall soundtrack was more atmospheric and less distracting in previous titles.
My wet dream: G3 CSP gets released. Someone makes a mod compilation with mods already released and improves CSP further(without breaking the balance ofc). Alkimia buys rights, makes fixes, balancing changes and releases the thing on steam with official dub/sub for multiple languages.
Alkimia can't buy the rights. The rights are owned by THQ, which owns Alkimia. As long as those asses from Embracer do not sell/cancel/dissolve the studio or the publisher, we are OK. I wish some of the old Piranha Bytes members would join if there will be a G2 remake.

Had the same problem with german language and mods. Had a mish-mash of no sub no dubs eng dubs and her dubs it was horrible. This helped a lot although I'm missing the ger dub a lot ngl
You say you do a couple of playthroughs a year on Gothic 3, do you play the other Gothics as well, or is it just 3? Your love for this game is truly inspirational!
I've promised myself not to return to G3 until the Community "Calendar" Project gets released, so that it can feel like a truly fresh experience, but man... I think this modlist is what will finally break me. I'm actually shocked to finally see a mod that reworks combat from its foundations and not by only tweaking the balance. And that also means that my plans for a full mage playthrough go out of the window and I'll end up playing one-handed melee for a 100th time. But it's gonna be great!
Keep in mind many things will change. And the mods don't have good descriptions in union imo. I had to Google for 1h to find out why Seruk in Kap dun won't talk to me and give me his quest (3 chalice) But aside from that very good experience so far
Dude is reading my mind. Been trying to get G3 to run smoothly for the last couple weeks and just now settled for replaying 1+2 since 3 just kept randomly crashing with union setups. I will try this and see if it works well thanks for the video. Edit: The tip with texture quality was gold!
I wish I could afford a device that can run this game fully modded smoothly. It is literally my favorite game ever since it came out. With each new mod, my experience became better and better, a reason to replay it.
Yeah seeing click4gameplay really makes me miss my pc rpg mods era 🫤.... when I played oblivion with oscuro,titan quest with players X mod and borderlands with 4 player mod. Been an console gamer on the past few years and not have an pc anymore and cant really afford one now 😮💨. When I played PC I had an good old games account filled with games like almost 100 of them...now they are there collecting virtual dust
I mean it definitely sucks not be able to afford a PC but when u only aiming for games like Gothic 3 u really don't need a heavy machine. Throw a couple hundred bucks at it at best and u be chillin. Maybe look for a used system. I'm pretty sure u could get away with an input aswell. Just make sure u run at least 8gb ram for G3. Hope U gonna be able to play this game again
@@eyn85 I have bought an Optiplex 7050 with an I5 7550 3,4 Ghz , 8 GB Ram DDR4 and a 256 ssd for like 80 $. I then bought a GTX 1650 4GB Vram for like 100$ and slowly upgraded my RAM and added a 1TB SSd which was a must. I have barely surpassed the 200$ mark and I can run K:CD , ultra modded Skyrim, certainly Gothic 3 and what not for not even half the price of a PS5. I've played the newest releases there is on this system, and it runs most games pre 2020 smooth like butter. I've never come across a game that I have wanted to play and was unable to run. You can definitely do it on a budget brother !

@@israelde4043 É melhor checar a PCgamingwiki ou o site ProtonDB (ou mesmo WineDB), que mesmo sendo um site para rodar jogos em linux te dará uma ideia de como resolver o problema. Pesquisar "Gothic 3 ground problem" vai te dar uma direção também. Acho que cheguei a ter esse problema, mas ele provavelmente já está documentado (jogo antigo) -- hoje em dia só instalo o jogo e funciona.
Finally something that improves combat! I wanted to give another chance to G3 (only played at release, ouch) and didn't like the combat system. Now it's time for a reinstall - got the trilogy on Steam (bought years later) but didn't touch G3 from it.

There is the Othello mod for Gothic 1 and there are quite a few Gothic 2 mods. Honestly, G2 Gold is perfect. No need for mods, aside maybe for DX11 and HD textures. Also, give a try to Archollos if you haven't yet.
All of the above. For G1 u might run into trouble with dx11 but other than that both games work like a charm on steam since they had workshop integration.
9:20 No. Enchantment weapon skill adds in Conquest mod. Skill "magic weapon" add in Balance Ultimate. And it just gives you the opportunity to use magical weapons like the "runesword"
Quick question - did anyone encounter a problem where some interactions, ability descriptions and dialogues added by the mod pack won't display proper text, but either "???" or in my case "[PL]" instead? I know this game inside out and I know that this issue only occurs with the things added with the mod pack and I'd get if it was consistent althroughout, but other added things are displayed properly. It might also be that the problem only occurs with the Polish translation of the modpack. And while I can already hear you say: "Just play in English" - while I normally play video games either in English or in a language of the region presented in the game (Ezio trilogy in Italian, KC:D in Czech etc.), the Polish dubbing in the Gothic series is an integral part of the experience for the Polish fandom

Thanks for the heads-up on the ini-file tweaking and graphics settings. Pretty critical knowledge. I had a horrible time with the mods installed when I previously tried Union. 3 crashes in my first two hours of playtime, and ultimately, a save corrupting crash that ended that playthrough (I did have a mirror save, but it was like 40 minutes behind, and I was so frustrated I just couldn't bother.
Suggestion to awesome Mac Hyder: Please, if possible, add an attack (with a keyboard combination) where the hero does a flip and attacks with a weapon. When I fought a troll, I imagined the hero doing it. It would be so awesome. Thanks for your hard work, and of course, for posting this awesome video.

guys for the union pluis mod on MOD DB.. the optional files need to be downloaded as well as they are patches for union plus... i didn't do this right away and ran into problesms
actually, it seems the files in the optional file labeled as patches are things included earlier in the video. Such as the 1.75 community patch and parallel universe patch

In the parallel universes patch notes it is explicitly stated that you have to install any mods FIRST before applying it. C4G is being a very naughty boi in the tutorial, lol.
I wish they would make a mod where you hold 2h swords like in gothic 2. It is kinda ironic cuz in g1 and g2 the 2h weapons animations were made for swords and when you held an axe it looked silly and in g3 they made 2h animations look like they were made for axes and 2h swords look silly ( you hold the blad with your other hand ;D )

very cool mod, i remember that Gothic 3 in terms of balance was even worse that first 2 games, and bad fighting mechanics is a problem of all 3 games. Nice to see the improvements in this field! I want to replay it now :)
my setup is almost perfect, the only problem i have is because i play on linux dwm and old games that don't have borderless full screen are quite buggy, i'm trying to search for a mod that enables it, maybe if i search in german i could find it

Hello C4G! I did everything like in this video, but the union launcher just stand in peace, ans nothing happen, when i press the button to load mods. There is no green lane what is loading or anything. Its lokks like its crashed, but it dont. What do you recomend to do? Love your videos, and keep making Gothic things. Long live Okara!
I have to admit, you make it very tempting to give Gothic 3 another chance. I played it a while ago after the Parallel Patch was released, and was still a bit disappointed because of how clunky it felt. Hey, my friend and i just played trough all of Gothic 1, and Gothic 2 with a coop mod, and was awesome.. For Gothic 2 we choose the Gothic 2 Nostalgia mod. We are wondering, if there is a decent coop mod for Gothic 3, and if so, does it work with mods?
I made the mistale of starting a playtrough witouth any mod.... I might have to start from 0. But when it comes to combat I presume/hope that they fixed the enemy AI for the animals so they won't have that 0 frame recovery on their attack animations. Right?
I love this game! First rpg fantasy adventure game I played as a teen. So glad to see it's still going strong! And the music.. I still listen to the soundtrack occasionally.
Did you found out how to fix this? I've just installed all the mods showed and in the same order, that includes the Union with polish dubbing, I play it in english yet the new NPCs don't have polish voice sound dubbing. Help!
About the combat mod: I do hope the animations will still look "smooth" because Risen 1 - despite having arguably the best combat system and progression in that regard by Piranha Bytes - has weird animation transitions imo. They feel a bit cartoony, unlike the ones in Gothic, where even Gothic 3 has smooth transitiosn (as if a real human is handling the weapon in that moment). Other than that, very excited for the future of combat mods!
Great game but never finished it as its so big. May do a replay with your mod list when I retire next year, when I should have the time to enjoy and finish it
I recommend playing with the mods on top of it, because they improve rather than alter the vanilla game quite a bit. Not to mention the improvements to the performance with Parallel Universe and Community Patch.
Oh yeah, I was one of the guys who had issues with these mods, for example, If I changed them I would loose my save games, but beside of that there were a lot of weird glitches that made the game unplayable

Hey man, thanks for your video. Do you know why with AB OFF (and New game of course) I still got skill points from teachers as I had it in ON mode? All the teachers have high LP demanding for skills, I remember that with AB OFF they should ask you like 5 LP for almost every skill.. but it doesn't work. Even with a specific mod I've found on Nexus (and AB ON like mod requirmenst), seems not working. I don't know what could be causing this issue..

But I got a question: Is there the possibilty to turn on the Skin Mod for the Orcs, so that they look like in the Games Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 ? Thanks man! As for the skin orc mod, you can definitely use it if you wish. There are several skin orc mods in the launcher, and you can choose. I'm using the light version of Orcs from Gothic 2, but you can use the full version by just activating the mod in the launcher.

every time I leave the game I get the black screen and I have to disconnect the pc from the power source and turn it on again does anyone know why it crashes me only when I leave the game?
So I followed the video completely, but it feels like some of the mods did not get installed. For example my character still moves like it normaly used to and not like you showed with the ICS. Also the combat seems to be the exact same so it feels again like the combat overhaul mods did not get installed.. I wonder what I am doing wrong?

I've promised myself not to return to G3 until the Community "Calendar" Project gets released, so that it can feel like a truly fresh experience, but man... I think this modlist is what will finally break me. I'm actually shocked to finally see a mod that reworks combat from its foundations and not by only tweaking the balance. And that also means that my plans for a full mage playthrough go out of the window and I'll end up playing one-handed melee for a 100th time. But it's gonna be great!
Keep in mind many things will change. And the mods don't have good descriptions in union imo. I had to Google for 1h to find out why Seruk in Kap dun won't talk to me and give me his quest (3 chalice) But aside from that very good experience so far

Dude is reading my mind. Been trying to get G3 to run smoothly for the last couple weeks and just now settled for replaying 1+2 since 3 just kept randomly crashing with union setups. I will try this and see if it works well thanks for the video. Edit: The tip with texture quality was gold!

I mean it definitely sucks not be able to afford a PC but when u only aiming for games like Gothic 3 u really don't need a heavy machine. Throw a couple hundred bucks at it at best and u be chillin. Maybe look for a used system. I'm pretty sure u could get away with an input aswell. Just make sure u run at least 8gb ram for G3. Hope U gonna be able to play this game again

@@eyn85 I have bought an Optiplex 7050 with an I5 7550 3,4 Ghz , 8 GB Ram DDR4 and a 256 ssd for like 80 $. I then bought a GTX 1650 4GB Vram for like 100$ and slowly upgraded my RAM and added a 1TB SSd which was a must. I have barely surpassed the 200$ mark and I can run K:CD , ultra modded Skyrim, certainly Gothic 3 and what not for not even half the price of a PS5. I've played the newest releases there is on this system, and it runs most games pre 2020 smooth like butter. I've never come across a game that I have wanted to play and was unable to run. You can definitely do it on a budget brother !

@@israelde4043 É melhor checar a PCgamingwiki ou o site ProtonDB (ou mesmo WineDB), que mesmo sendo um site para rodar jogos em linux te dará uma ideia de como resolver o problema. Pesquisar "Gothic 3 ground problem" vai te dar uma direção também. Acho que cheguei a ter esse problema, mas ele provavelmente já está documentado (jogo antigo) -- hoje em dia só instalo o jogo e funciona.

Finally something that improves combat! I wanted to give another chance to G3 (only played at release, ouch) and didn't like the combat system. Now it's time for a reinstall - got the trilogy on Steam (bought years later) but didn't touch G3 from it.

There is the Othello mod for Gothic 1 and there are quite a few Gothic 2 mods. Honestly, G2 Gold is perfect. No need for mods, aside maybe for DX11 and HD textures.

All of the above. For G1 u might run into trouble with dx11 but other than that both games work like a charm on steam since they had workshop integration.
9:20 No. Enchantment weapon skill adds in Conquest mod. Skill "magic weapon" add in Balance Ultimate. And it just gives you the opportunity to use magical weapons like the "runesword"

Quick question - did anyone encounter a problem where some interactions, ability descriptions and dialogues added by the mod pack won't display proper text, but either "???" or in my case "[PL]" instead? I know this game inside out and I know that this issue only occurs with the things added with the mod pack and I'd get if it was consistent althroughout, but other added things are displayed properly. It might also be that the problem only occurs with the Polish translation of the modpack. And while I can already hear you say: "Just play in English" - while I normally play video games either in English or in a language of the region presented in the game (Ezio trilogy in Italian, KC:D in Czech etc.), the Polish dubbing in the Gothic series is an integral part of the experience for the Polish fandom

I had a horrible time with the mods installed when I previously tried Union. 3 crashes in my first two hours of playtime, and ultimately, a save corrupting crash that ended that playthrough (I did have a mirror save, but it was like 40 minutes behind, and I was so frustrated I just couldn't bother.
Suggestion to awesome Mac Hyder: Please, if possible, add an attack (with a keyboard combination) where the hero does a flip and attacks with a weapon. When I fought a troll, I imagined the hero doing it. It would be so awesome. Thanks for your hard work, and of course, for posting this awesome video.

actually, it seems the files in the optional file labeled as patches are things included earlier in the video. Such as the 1.75 community patch and parallel universe patch

I wish they would make a mod where you hold 2h swords like in gothic 2. It is kinda ironic cuz in g1 and g2 the 2h weapons animations were made for swords and when you held an axe it looked silly and in g3 they made 2h animations look like they were made for axes and 2h swords look silly ( you hold the blad with your other hand ;D )

very cool mod, i remember that Gothic 3 in terms of balance was even worse that first 2 games, and bad fighting mechanics is a problem of all 3 games. Nice to see the improvements in this field! I want to replay it now :)

I have to admit, you make it very tempting to give Gothic 3 another chance. I played it a while ago after the Parallel Patch was released, and was still a bit disappointed because of how clunky it felt. Hey, my friend and i just played trough all of Gothic 1, and Gothic 2 with a coop mod, and was awesome.. For Gothic 2 we choose the Gothic 2 Nostalgia mod.
We are wondering, if there is a decent coop mod for Gothic 3, and if so, does it work with mods?
I made the mistale of starting a playtrough witouth any mod.... I might have to start from 0.
But when it comes to combat I presume/hope that they fixed the enemy AI for the animals so they won't have that 0 frame recovery on their attack animations. Right?

About the combat mod: I do hope the animations will still look "smooth" because Risen 1 - despite having arguably the best combat system and progression in that regard by Piranha Bytes - has weird animation transitions imo. They feel a bit cartoony, unlike the ones in Gothic, where even Gothic 3 has smooth transitiosn (as if a real human is handling the weapon in that moment).
Other than that, very excited for the future of combat mods!

I recommend playing with the mods on top of it, because they improve rather than alter the vanilla game quite a bit. Not to mention the improvements to the performance with Parallel Universe and Community Patch.

Oh yeah, I was one of the guys who had issues with these mods, for example, If I changed them I would loose my save games, but beside of that there were a lot of weird glitches that made the game unplayable

Hey man, thanks for your video. Do you know why with AB OFF (and New game of course) I still got skill points from teachers as I had it in ON mode? All the teachers have high LP demanding for skills, I remember that with AB OFF they should ask you like 5 LP for almost every skill.. but it doesn't work. Even with a specific mod I've found on Nexus (and AB ON like mod requirmenst), seems not working. I don't know what could be causing this issue..

Yes it's normal... The new added quests don't have voice acting, but since you downloaded the English Translation mod you can see the subtitles

As for the skin orc mod, you can definitely use it if you wish. There are several skin orc mods in the launcher, and you can choose. I'm using the light version of Orcs from Gothic 2, but you can use the full version by just activating the mod in the launcher.

every time I leave the game I get the black screen and I have to disconnect the pc from the power source and turn it on again does anyone know why it crashes me only when I leave the game?
So I followed the video completely, but it feels like some of the mods did not get installed. For example my character still moves like it normaly used to and not like you showed with the ICS. Also the combat seems to be the exact same so it feels again like the combat overhaul mods did not get installed.. I wonder what I am doing wrong?
