Fun fact: Tom Arnold's story about his ex-wife taking the ice cube trays is an anecdote from his real life, as he was in the midst of divorcing Roseanne Barr at the time, and apparently she was pretty petty about it. 😂
even funner fact, when Arnie smashed the van window it was the wrong one, he was supposed to his the breakaway glass window in the front. because Tom's reaction was unintended and they just kept going with the take, Cameron left it in
33:27 "Fun" fact: while working, the radar in a jet produces a serious amount of radiation. If you are close to it while it's working, you have a good chance to develop lots of heart issues, or become unable to bear children. Luckily, this never happens, because no one stands on top of a jet in the air. And the ground teams put signs of warning, while working on the radar. Plus there is a good chance they she would be sunk into one of the engine. It's like a whirlwind. "Woops. Sorry honey. But hey, at least I got you off this crane, right?".
Yeah. I never realized it was directed by James Cameron until recently. 25+ years and I was oblivious to it. Although it makes sense, since Arnie team up with Cameron to make both main Terminator movies.
@MyBuggalugga For sure! No way could I pick just one film of his as my favorite, it’d have to be a tier list or something I don’t know. So many good ones and as you say, an icon, ingrained in the zeitgeist of our past in motion picture both here in the states and abroad.
The scene where Harry/Arnie demands the page 10 and he smashes that window in the car, remember? Well, that hadn't been scripted nor prepared; Arnie just winged it and smashed the window for real. He was incredibly lucky not to have seriously injured his hand. Cameron liked it so much that the scene was retained.
The old man with the eye patch (the boss of Omega Sector) is the same actor who plays the main character in 'Planet of the Apes' (1968): Charlton Heston. No doubt, one of the best sci fi films in cinema history and a refference for the movies to come in the following decades. No spoilers, maybe the best ending scene in any movie in the last 30 years of XXth century and a powerfull and deep message for the generations.
Yay!!! Thanks for watching this one. I don’t know why it’s not more popular, it’s such a great film. Believe it or not, Jamie did her own stunt on the bridge with the helicopter.
One reason why its not so popular is because there is no official physical release in HD. No Blu-Ray and also it hasn't been on streaming services often in the past. I'm glad its now on Disney+ in many countries. Cameron has said that there will be a Blu-Ray release this year.
10:44 the gun he is firing with fully automatic fire is an AK-74 the 74 stands for the year 1974. The Russians got there hands on some M16's from Nam and examined and noticed they fired smaller bullets then the AK-47 did and they then made the AK-74. Initially AK-74 and AK-47's only difference was bullet size but after awhile the AK-74 became the AK-74U which is a sub machine gun that is in this scene.
Our of these, True Lies. But my personal pick would be a non comedy (maybe even an action drama?): End of Days (1999). Thanks mainly to one single quote by our Arny, the legend.
A lovely piece of work by Cameron. It was a remake of an french film called La Totale!, released the same year as T2. Not your average genre film and it most definitely works on all levels. Tom Arnold's character was originally written for John Travolta as a side-kick to Sylvester Stallone in Rambo II, but Stallone re-wrote the movie and took out the character in favor of a semi-love interest role. Cameron sat on the character idea until he found a new home for him in True Lies.
Glad you two enjoyed as much as we did when it first came out. That attack jet scene with the harrier pissed off so many pilots and kind of introduced me to Marines.

The 1991 French film 'La Totale!' is the original. It's worth watching because it's quite funny and charming in its own right, the French quirky sense of humour is rather unique. It's also fun to see how many scenes were duplicated in some detail.
It gives me the feeling that before they did better and more realistic special effects than now, the destruction of the bridge looked very realistic and they used miniatures for that scene, incredible!! If they would do CGI to that scene today, it would look very fake.
You ladies are fast becoming my favorite reactors. This is another classic that I’m so glad you got to see. I think you would definitely love Kindergarten Cop. That’s another one of my favorite Schwarzenegger films. Commando and The Running Man are guilty pleasures from the 80s that you would have a lot of fun watching. Keep up the great work ladies!!!
😃Btw, I love how y’all jumped right on board & defended Helen from the start, even when u thought she was cheating. Making excuses for her like it was nothing. We ladies back each other UP.🤭
I'm _finally_ getting to a reaction video right after it's uploaded. 😀 True Lies was pretty fun, wasn't it, ladies? 😄 Arnold was his usual entertaining self, and with a comic twist. And to think, this isn't even the first movie that Arnold did that spoofed action film cliches. If you haven't already, you may want to check out Commando. I'm old enough to remember most of the Halloween sequels coming out, but this was probably the first film I saw Jamie Lee Curtis in. I could see why she was a scream queen, but this probably the first time most folks under 50 (including yours truly) saw she could be sexy, too. I've been saying for years that there's should've been a sequel, and as the years by, I started thinking that a sequel could have the adult Elisa Dushku (Dana) be the star, since she's a proven action chick in her own right. Given what happened to her on the set of this film, though, it's probably never gonna happen.

There's no official blu ray for this, there's a bootleg blu ray from spain that's ripped from a D VHS tape, which I think is Full HD. I'm a huge Arnold fan since I was a kid. It's a shame he didn't do more comedies because his comidic timing is soo good! You should react to Twins and Kindergarten Cop. Two of my favorite feel good movies!
Loved this movie and watched it loads. Though since Eliza Dushku revealed that she was sexually and physically abused on set by the stunt director I've not been able to watch it since, given my own experience as an abuse survivor too. But yeah it's full of great action and comedy.
It’s Hollywood. That happens all the time, sadly, particularly against women. It seems pretty fishy than Charlize Theron did all those nude scenes in forgettable movies before she had a chance to prove she could act. If you’re an attractive young female, that’s usually your easiest and maybe you’re only way of getting roles in Hollywood, at least initially. In the 90s, there were plenty of actresses like that. Even in the 80s, with actresses like Nastassja Kinski, and Brooke Shields. Brutal.
@Hannah Thank you. Yeah, like I said, this was a fave of mine since I saw it in the cinema when new and I'd watched it many times on VHS, DVD and TV broadcasts. But yeah, when Eliza came out with her experience a few years ago it I felt so bad for her and it tainted my own viewing of it knowing what she spoke about and relating to it enough (different circumstances, obviously, but still a similar sense of helplessness, self-loathing that it happened, shame even though it wasn't our fault etc). I did try to watch it again but I just felt wrong inside and turned it off. I mean, technically I don't even need to ever watch it again as having seen it so many times, I know every scene well enough, but it's not a film I feel comfortable watching anymore, like say if friends put it on cos they haven't seen it before, I couldn't sit with them to watch it. I'd just leave their house and let them enjoy it.
@@christhornycroft3686 Yeah, difference though with those actresses are to some degree they knew they were playing sexualised roles in some way (even if super ick like Brooke Shields was certainly exploited for) and if the actresses are adult that's their own decision if they want to do roles that include nudity (though again not if they sign the contract believing it to not require nudity and then the director insists on nudity during filming, that's not ok). Eliza's character Dana is not even remotely sexualised. Eliza herself was a minor, aged 12 when filming, and states that during that time she was preyed on by a 36 year old Joel Kramer who was employed in a position of trust and responsibility. Kramer of course denies it all but has admitted to being about 40 and sleeping with a 16 year old so he's clearly attracted to young girls. He's also been accused by others. And Eliza's legal guardian at the time backs up her events and states she too had reported it during the filming to people in authority who seemed to react like it wasn't even news to them and yet they did nothing. As you said, this goes on in Hollywood a lot. And certainly as long ago as this instance was, the sort of thing that happened and got buried. There has supposedly been some progress in safety protocols and such but yeah I don't think Hollywood will ever fully change. Remember Victor Salva who went to jail for abusing the then 12 year old actor of his film in the late 80s, came back out, when straight back into directing films like Powder and later the Jeepers Creepers movies. And even had supposed metoo activist Rose McGowan describe him as an 'incredibly sweet and gentle man, lovely to his crew, and a very hard worker.' after she was asked about working with a known nonce whose crime she commented "Yeah, I still don't really understand the whole story or history there, and I'd rather not, because it's not really my business.". I had felt sorry for her about Weinstein but having seen those comments she'd said previously about Salva and dismissing his victim like that made me feel sick. So when even prominent figures supposedly exposing the abuse going on in the movie industry can seemingly belittle and be dismissive of the abuse of a child in that industry, how are we supposed to believe anything will ever change? Sorry for all that typing. I just. yeah. I dunno. Anyways, have a good day everyone who reads this and thank you for reading this. :)
so a little real world explanation on the runaway Ingram: while the scene where it falls down the steps and shoots all of those terrorists is exaggerated for the sake of Hollywood story crafting, the genesis of that malfunction is based on a real life design flaw in the mac-10. It fires from an open bolt which has to proceed forward to strip off a round from the magazine and then the firing pin causes the round to fire. Unfortunately, enough of a jolt to the reciprocating cocking lever on the top of the weapon can cause the weapon to fire on its own, so that dropping the submachine gun can fairly easily cause an accidental discharge. I suppose the idea behind the stair case shenanigans was that she dropped the weapon and the charging handle was bumped multiple times to keep causing the weapon to fire and at least some of the rounds went in to the area where the terrorists were approaching. The other part of that equation is that the mac-10 has a VERY high cyclic rate, around 1200 rounds a minute, meaning the weapon would most likely be empty halfway down the stairs or even earlier.....TMYK
21:00 Mu friends and I have been asking ourselves for YEARS which would be worse: Did James Cameron write that ten year old boy line into the script, or did Bill Paxton ad lib it? 🤣🤣🤣
No one was better than Bill Paxton at entertainingly playing an obnoxious jerk. This, "Aliens," and "Near Dark" are prime examples. He wasn't limited to such roles, but they are among his most memorable.
Yeah, he was also the obnoxious and demented older brother Chet in "Weird Science". I didn't realize it was him until years later I rewatched it after seeing him in Aliens.
Instead of Avatar sequels I wish James Cameron would do another film like this, it’s a total outlier in his filmography and it’s one of his best movies.
Good reaction but man y’all cut a lot of iconic scenes/lines: what can I say? I’m a spy. When Harry shoots the guy holding Helen hostage, when the tech guy pulls the gun from the camera. And of course the entire Jamie Lee dance scene 😊

This might be my favorite Arnold movie. That's tough since he's in a lot of good stuff.
This movie is such a delight! Thanks so much for watching with us.
Thanks so much for watching with us!
Tom Arnold as the sidekick was brilliant casting . . .
Arnold is so versatile
26:31 Those leather chairs make it sound like you two are letting big ones rip out long and hard lol :P
Why do you think we chose them? You can let it all out and blame it on the chairs any time you want. 😉
Love Arnold movies 🎥❤ 🎥 ❤
Time to tango...
😃Btw, I love how y’all jumped right on board & defended Helen from the start, even when u thought she was cheating. Making excuses for her like it was nothing. We ladies back each other UP.🤭
..........❤❤❤❤❤.........
Now watch Arnold Schwarzenegger again in Commando.
I'm _finally_ getting to a reaction video right after it's uploaded. 😀
True Lies was pretty fun, wasn't it, ladies? 😄
Arnold was his usual entertaining self, and with a comic twist.
True lies is one of best movies

There's no official blu ray for this, there's a bootleg blu ray from spain that's ripped from a D VHS tape, which I think is Full HD. It's supposed to be coming out by Christmas on 4K, but nothing is announced. Cameron has a blu ray of this and abyss*, since Avatar 1 came out. Every year, but now Silver is saying it, too. So maybe. *(check that movie out, I prefer the SE version myself.)
Good 1990's spy/espionage action movies:
"The Peacemaker" (1997) George Clooney, Nicole Kidman
"Sneakers" (1991) Robert Redford, Dan Ackroyd, Sidney Poitier, Ben Kingsley, River Phoenix
"Eraser" (1996) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vanessa Williams, James Caan, James Coburn, James Cromwell, Mark Rolston
"The 6th Day" (2000) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Rooker, Robert Duvall, Terry Crews
"Under Siege" (1992) Steven Seagal, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey, Erika Eleniak
"Broken Arrow" (1996) Christian Slater, John Travolta
"The Jackal" (1997) Bruce Willis, Sidney Poitier, Richard Gere, Diane Venora. Remake of the 1972 "Day of the jackal", based on a Fredrick Forsyth novel.
"Executive Decision" Kurt Russell, Halle Berry, Steven Seagal, Oliver Platt, John Leguizamo, Joe Morton
"The Long Kiss Goodnight" (1996) Gina Davis, Samuel L. Jackson. Good for Christmas
"Swordfish" (2001) Hugh Jackman, John Travolta, Halle Berry, Don Cheadle, Vinnie Jones, Drea De Matteo
Last Action Hero and Junior are 2 other comedies of Arnold's that you didn't mention
Loved the picture of Worf and Deanna behind you.

THE BRIDGE IS OUT!!
Thanks for sharing another great reaction.
Thanks so much for watching with us!
Jingle all the way
I'm a huge Arnold fan since I was a kid. It's a shame he didn't do more comedies because his comidic timing is soo good! You should react to Twins and Kindergarten Cop. Two of my favorite feel good movies!
Thanks for watching with us! We have a Kindergarten Cop reaction already. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Love this movie ,i have it on dvd ❤ so funny
Thanks for watching with us!
Brutal.
That's so horrible that it happened to her.
Thanks for this little lesson. This definitely helps explain the scene.
🤘✅ my 3 favorite people to do movie reactions doing a reaction to one of my favorite action movies 😎 The 3rd person is the cat lol 🐈
Thanks for including Boo! 😺😽
Awww thank you so much! We truly appreciate your comment & enjoying with us 🎬🥰
Any fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer should recognise the actress who played the daughter, Dana. That was Eliza Dushku, aka Faith.
this movie is so underrated compared to T2 or Aliens, glad to see more people enjoying it.
It was SO much fun! Thanks for watching with us.
This is great
Cult classic...awesome reaction!
Thanks so much for watching with us!
21:00 Mu friends and I have been asking ourselves for YEARS which would be worse: Did James Cameron write that ten year old boy line into the script, or did Bill Paxton ad lib it? 🤣🤣🤣
🤣 It is absolutely perfect for the character, though. Adds to the creepiness. Bill Paxton was the G.O.A.T.

This movie is awesome, but your mic cover is out of this world! ;)
literally
Good movie😊
No one was better than Bill Paxton at entertainingly playing an obnoxious jerk. This, "Aliens," and "Near Dark" are prime examples. He wasn't limited to such roles, but they are among his most memorable.
Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal 😜
Yeah, he was also the obnoxious and demented older brother Chet in "Weird Science". I didn't realize it was him until years later I rewatched it after seeing him in Aliens.
@@walteralcaraz5898 I don't know if it was his last film, but the last one I saw him in was"The Edge Of Tomorrow." Of course he was memorable in that.
@@jeffthompson9622 Interesting. It never registered with me that he was in that movie. I was more focused on Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. LOL
@@walteralcaraz5898 He was the Master Sergeant in "Edge Of Tomorrow."
Excellent
Instead of Avatar sequels I wish James Cameron would do another film like this, it’s a total outlier in his filmography and it’s one of his best movies.
The next Schwarzenegger film you should watch is End of Days, unless you have already.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Good reaction but man y’all cut a lot of iconic scenes/lines: what can I say? I’m a spy. When Harry shoots the guy holding Helen hostage, when the tech guy pulls the gun from the camera. And of course the entire Jamie Lee dance scene 😊
