I recommend all who is going to be a designer spend 1-2 years on the shop floor. This will make you much better. Also cnc dept. would be a good bonus. You will look at details differently and easer. JUST A THOUGHT.
i want to become a designer/drafter, should i do Masters in Cad/Cam or Production/Manufacturing Engineering? I have done my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and i like to take anything and create models in solidworks in my spare time.
For some reason my part is roughly 200 grams more than it should be. I have triple checked all my dimensions...does anyone have any ideas where I went wrong?

Go and work in a foundry if you want to design castings. Top tip right there.

are you a mechanical drafter or mechanical engineer? If so, do you like it and are you still in that profession?
The answer to your question is no I am not a drafter or engineer by profession, but I do hold a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
