For some reason my part is roughly 200 grams more than it should be. I have triple checked all my dimensions...does anyone have any ideas where I went wrong?

FYI, this prqctice will not prepare you for the exam. The majority of the exam covers material not covered in this practice exam.
I recommend all who is going to be a designer spend 1-2 years on the shop floor. This will make you much better. Also cnc dept. would be a good bonus. You will look at details differently and easer. JUST A THOUGHT.
Go and work in a foundry if you want to design castings. Top tip right there.
i want to become a designer/drafter, should i do Masters in Cad/Cam or Production/Manufacturing Engineering? I have done my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and i like to take anything and create models in solidworks in my spare time.
I'm going to suggest you get a job if you can and learn on the go. Where do you live?
how do i change the gap distance when making edge flanges on the sides. i can see yours is automatically set to 0.50mm but on my 2014 solidworks its set to 1mm and i cant change it. please advice

The answer to your question is no I am not a drafter or engineer by profession, but I do hold a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering.

where to find cut list properties for question 5 as in solidworks 15 , there is no option
What's going on with the hem in question #6? I don't know what kind of hem they want you to make to get the correct answer (138.13 +/- .50 grams).
