    Thanks! Really good tips. I agree with the suggestion to have a second monitor. One is used for the exam and the other is used for SolidWorks. I took the CSWA exam and it really helped.

    Well I took all three exams. Did really well on seg1, messed up on seg2, and got by to just pass on seg3. I really though that seg2 would be a breeze. Now I have to take it again. I think I should have studied move face and delete face command. It dawned on me after I ran out of time I could have solved the problems giving me trouble. Will try again.
    Even though I passed the last exam by just a hair, I don't think I'll retake it. Just unfamilar with a lot of the commands they wanted. I studied a lot too, and still things I never seen. Just commands I never use on the job. I'm rambling.

    If possible, avoid taking the exam at a single monitor work station.

    • @VirtualFlat
      @VirtualFlat  4 года назад +1

      ^^ This is a great tip. It's not impossible to take it with only one monitor, but the time wasted from switching windows really adds up over the course of the exam. Dual screen all the way!

    The exam was updated on February 4, 2018 (it debuted at SWW 2018!). If you took the exam before this date, you took the old exam. (I had to reupload this video to correct errors and Dragon57312 asked this question on that old video, I thought I'd bring it here for all to see!)

    Hi, man! Do you know if I can retake a segment I already passed? I failed two segments but now I want to take the full exam to get a better score (and finally get the certification, for sure)
    Thanks!

    • @VirtualFlat
      @VirtualFlat  5 лет назад

      Hey Abraham! Thanks for watching! So, you can retake any segment you'd like, regardless of whether you've passed or not. The thing is, there's no direct benefit for shooting for a higher score (the scores are not viewable online, only the fact that you've passed). That being said, if the scores are really important to you and you want to do better just for your learning, then that is a very commendable thing to do :) Otherwise, I would just focus on the exam segments that need work! Best of luck!

  • @TABL3SIX
    @TABL3SIX 3 года назад +1

    Question. If you fail one of the three exams, when you go to retake it, is it the same exam. Do they switch randomly from different exams so you don't have it easier the second time around. Anyone know for sure?

    • @VirtualFlat
      @VirtualFlat  3 года назад +1

      I do! The questions are randomly selected from a pool of questions. If you retake it, there's a good chance that you will see some of the same ones you did before, but there might be new questions.

    How can i enroll for this exam and what is the procedure and once i purchase a segment when will the exam be held?

    • @VirtualFlat
      @VirtualFlat  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Raj!
      Thanks for watching! There's two main ways to get a credit for an exam.
      1) If you or a company you work for has seats of SW on subscription (i.e. entitled to updates) you actually get 2 credits per year for free!
      If that's the case, you can follow the directions on this PDF to get your credit: www.solidworks.com/sw/docs/SW_Certification_Mobile_Phone_Voucher.pdf
      2) If you have a seat of SW that's not on subscription, you'll have to buy a credit, and that can be done from this page: www.solidworks.com/sw/support/797_ENU_HTML.htm
      Just click "Buy Now" and you should be good to go!
      NOTE: if you are a student, your teacher/professor may have vouchers for exams. You should ask them before making any purchases. Typically, these vouchers are for the lower level exams (CSWA, CSWP). If you plan on taking the specialty exams or the CSWE, chances are you would have to buy it.
      Let me know if this helps!

  • @edm.3494
    @edm.3494 3 года назад

    Do you recommend taking the three segments all at once or on different days?

    • @VirtualFlat
      @VirtualFlat  3 года назад +1

      As someone who took it both ways (couple weeks apart the first time I passed, and all on the same day the second time) I think I prefer to take them all the same day.
      I think this really has to do with your preference with regards to test-taking. I am used to 3+ hour finals from engineering school, so taking it all at once wasn't a problem for me.
      But none of the segments carry over from each other, so it is perfectly fine to take one, wait a couple weeks, take the second, etc. just like I did the first time!
      I hope this helps and good luck, friend!

    do you have a sample exam for updated cswp?

    • @VirtualFlat
      @VirtualFlat  6 лет назад

      I think the sample exam is the same as last time. I still think its a pretty good indicator to see if you're ready to take it. The only practice exams that I think are too easy as compared to their actual exams are the Advanced Professional exams (sheet metal, weldments, surfacing, etc.). I'll make videos about those in the furure!
