I just had my total abdominal hysterectomy on 10/10/22 fibroid was 7pounds literally the size of. Baby. Pathology came back negative for cancer which was a concern considering how large it was unable to get a full pic on the MRI. I’m now 2weeks post op, the first week was very hard, but I’m much better with each passing day. Thank you for
Sharing this and your story. Continued recovery.

Just a word on why you are not craving sugars like you were prior to your surgery. Tumors feed on carbs and sugars and will DEMAND them through cravings. My appointment to discuss my MRI and set my surgery date is a day away, I Can Not Wait to reclaim my body and my life. ❤️

I am 14 days post surgery and still craving sugar and carbs sooooooo bad that I want to smash things. I'm angry I say words I don't want to say. I cut the sugar and carbs eight weeks prior to the surgery. So I haven't had any in 10 weeks.

I had 9 surgeries in my life and to be honest I been very scared to have this Hysterectomy, but after hearing your video I am more confident that everything will be fine. I have joint pain. Backaches and menorragia at least 3 times a month. I have several fobroids scattered around so I was a little sad my husband and I tried to get pregnant and had 2 missed carriages, which I know now it was the fibroids he and I have kids but it was still a desire we had to have another baby 😢😢 anyways I am grateful to you for this video.

So glad I came across your channel. I too have a large fibroid. I also have an ovarian cyst and a hernia. I’m pretty sure the large fibroid has caused the hernia. My lack of energy is the symptom I notice the most. I can’t do the things I used to. It has definitely affected my quality of life. Your story gives me hope that once I have had surgery I can get back some energy to lead a normal life again. X

Great suggestions on what to bring. You were so right about the sleep mask and ear plus for the hospital. 3 days in the hospital with several middle of the night vitals and lab work, I found that the mask helped me to maintain my circadian sleep rhythm even when nurses had to turn on lights in the middle of the nights. I watched so many videos but was found yours the most valuable. Thank you😊

Thank you for sharing your story. I am 3 weeks post-op today and today is about the best I've felt since surgery. The first 4 days were the worst. So far, there have been as many good days as bad ones. I also have a hard time not being active and pushed myself too far and had to recuperate for a couple of days. I have also learned not to allow myself to become constipated. I think that I tried to introduce certain foods back into my diet too soon. I know that my surgery was the best option for me and that it will take some time to recover. As much as I want to jump right back into my normal routine, I just can't do it right now. In order to attempt to sit still, I have decided to brush up on my music theory and learn to play the ukulele. 😊

From my first reported symptoms to getting a diagnose ,referral to a gynecologist and a surgery date took only two weeks. I sought treatment for ongoing awful digestive issues. Turns out I have a 20 cm fibroid that’s squeezing my abdominal organs to the point of not being able to eat more than a few bites without pain. So I appreciate your video and advice: eases my anxiety, I can probably go back to sleep now.

But then after cycle all returns to normal. Except for back pain here and there. Are they taking your cervix? I don’t want them to but she says she will. Wonder why. It’s fine. I have no energy and I literally force myself to get up and make it happen everyday. Stored iron is pathetic.. and cravings are shy high!

Hello! I just had my surgery two weeks ago. It was scary for me because I've never had surgery before. This was my first time. But don't be scared. It wasn't that bad. I thought recovery was going to be painful, but mine wasn't too bad.
Like the video says, the hardest part in recovery was getting up off the bed, and getting back on the bed. But once you're up. No pain. Once you're lying down in bed, as long as I laid on my back. There was no pain.
Once thing I can say that was the most painful for me, was that I had a slight cough here and there for the first week. Each cough was PAINFUL. I just wanted to cry each time I coughed. But like I said, it was only like one cough here. One cough there during the day.
Anyways, good luck on your surgery. You'll do fine. Since I've had my surgery, I've heard that its a very, very common procedure for women. Good luck and speedy recovery to you!

Thank you so much for this video. I am in day 7 after my abdominal hysterectomy. My fibroids were still rather small but they were causing long painful periods. I have also had extreme joint and muscle pain for the last two years, especially from my knees down but recently also in my wrists and hands. I had Covid in 2020 and have always thought the pain was related to that. It makes me so hopeful to know that somehow it might be related to the fibroids and resolved now that they are removed. I have not felt any of those pains since my surgery but assumed it was because of the pain medications I have been on. I’m really hopeful that the fatigue and aches and pains will be resolved with this surgery.
Thanks again- I feel so much hope after watching your video.

@@foodismylovelanguage2021 The surgery itself went great. The fibroid they removed was 15 pounds!! My surgeon took pictures of it, as well as one with all of the reproductive organs, so that is pretty neat to see. I had an epidural done so that for the first 24 hours my pain would be well managed. Well, I had an absolutely horrid first 24 hours. While in post op, they, for whatever reason, didn't think it was important to keep up with my pain meds, so I went into a pain crisis that lasted over 24 hours. It was beyond anything I had ever imagined. And to make things worse my first night nurse was a horrible, horrible person who didn't think it was important to get me out of crisis, didn't give me pain meds when it was time, taking my leg and turning me over without my consent, sending me into even more pain, putting my bed up in a sitting position without asking. Getting mad at me and telling me to , "stop being an inpatient patient". It was just horrible. But, once they finally got the pain somewhat under control, things got better. They wanted me to stay a 3rd night, but I kept having anxiety attacks because of not knowing how I'd be treated by the next nurse, so in my stubborn ways, I made sure to get myself up out of bed and walking around the floor so I could go home. 4 weeks post op yesterday and I am feeling like a brand new person!!!!! So much of my pain and other issues have just disappeared. I will forever be thankful to my wonderful surgeon.

Like all the other gorgeous ladies above, I’m grateful that you made this video and then I came across it. I enjoy your details and the list you get. I am soon to have a hysterectomy myself. My uterus is full of fibroids not just one but multiple. I have noticed some thing very different in my energy and how try as I may, I couldn’t lose weight and find the energy to want to do it. I thought I was just getting old lol and then I was weaker in my old age. (Only 50) with menopause around the corner. I had a doctor told me to just wait but I’m in pain almost every day I can’t sit for long periods of time and I can’t stand for long periods of time I started over in life and have 11 year old twins that I like to stay active with but right now they have a mom with very low energy but can’t keep up…. Hopefully my weight for a long time but when the pain got too much, I went to the doctor and it turns out that it’s all due to fibroids. Happy to find out that it wasn’t just me and can’t wait to get them taken out. Thank you again for your video.

I was discharge the next day at 11:30am, I am not in that much pain only when I am trying to lay down and get up same as sitting, coughing, laughing. Other than that I am ok. So glad to come across this. I had huge fibroid (volleyball size), ovarian cysts, had radical abdominal hysterectomy...Surgeon even took ovaries, cervix. Surgery was June 30, 2022. My incision goes from belly button all the way down. 6 week visit Dr told me I was good to go back to normal lifestyle, no more than 50lbs. What type of incision did you have, how long did your belly stay round and bloated, did you ever feel like the internal stomach layers didn't close right or were busting open? I'm so glad to find someone who has experienced this whole experience. Not many women are willing to talk.

Actually I had to avoid fiber because that gave me more gas and that was not comfortable, so as long as you are going to the bathroom for everything I'd advise being careful with the vegetables right after surgery. Then I went with the canned veggies. I didn't have pain from the surgery gas they use to blow up your stomach to see during surgery so I guess they took that back out well.

I think I over prepared. I didn’t have constipation and a small amount of bleeding from the vagina because it was a vaginally assisted hysterectomy. Drink water beforehand and buy an abdominal binder. Those are the two biggest things. You don’t need all of that stuff. It’s just unnecessary and expensive. Prepping meals is helpful.

When I got up to get out the bed to use the restroom then I felt a little pain and getting back in the bed same with sitting and that lasted for almost 2wks. The catheter didn't hurt when it was being taken out. They let me go home the next day, My cousin came from Miami to be with me for 2mons and 2wks. @@JH-yg5oo I had a full hysterectomy and I had everything removed including my ovaries. Everyone body isn't the same I watch videos as well and some women made like they was in so much, which they could have been. But don't worry about it, I was the same way and I worried for nothing because it wasn't nothing to it. Just read you some Bible scriptures on healing.

I am just seeing your post. I am having total hysterectomy and at least one very large fibroid removed.... on Nov 16 2023. Mine will be a vertical incision. Is yours the same? How have things gone?
