@@salvatoreboutilette5020 hi there. Absolutely. I had the Gen2 XF and it was superb. Check out episode 26 of the Golf Show where I put my Gen 2 XF head to head against the Gen 4 X
I treated myself to a new Callaway driver couple of months ago after a fitting at Woodhall Spa. I'm loving it - but anything would probably have given me more forgiveness than my old faithful Titleist 910. Great little showcase of Fulford by the way. I agree with you about the pricing by manufacturers. Very frustrating !
Hi Kev. Thanks for the feedback as always buddy. I think I need to do an episode playing all 18 at Fulford. Was lovely yesterday in the comp (…no need to talk about the comp though…) Trying to type this with everything crossed for the Ryder Cup tonight 🤜🏼🤛🏼🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
Think any faint Ryder Cup hope went up the Swannie when we didn't win the final session yesterday. When you're off a 7-10 hcp it's very difficult to have any chance of glory in the comps.
Hi Paul. I realize this video is 8 months old but it’s still relevant. I had the Callaway Epic Speed (10.5) and just couldn’t get on with it. Enter the G425 Max. Long and very forgiving. I think it may have just saved my game off the tee. 🙂
Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to comment and your kind words. A friend of mine has just been fitted for the G425 Max. It’s such a good piece of equipment In some more recent episodes (69 and 70) I test the Callaway Rogue, then put it head to head with my own PXG. The Callaway is so much better than the previous models, but it is so expensive Kind regards Paul
Couple issues with your video. First is that PXG 0811-X is NOT the most forgiving of the Gen4 PXG drivers, the 0811-XF is. Second is that different shafts can make a HUGE difference, so unless you have identical or near identical shafts, this comparison is loose at best. Third is you have the Callaway & Ping in their max draw biased setting, but no mention if that's that the weights on the PXG are. Fourth is that you probably should have hit several warm up shots before starting the comparison as that made PXG look bad. I know you are likely equipment limited, so those are only suggestions to work on. And maybe a comparison like this is better done in a simulator instead of live so you can hit a bunch of shots, take the best 5 of each, then compare. Keep at it, will only get better.
Thanks David. Really appreciate your feedback. Wow that price difference is staggering! PXG has just cut the price again now to £285 for the Gen 4 Driver!
£285 fitted? Yes please!!! My 0811 gen4 9* 6.5 Hzrdus Smoke arrives in.....5 weeks...... The wait is killing me lol. The ping sounds horrible...yay can keep that one mate lol.
I love that 13th hole! Actually I love the whole course, just wish I could score round it lol I'm fortunate that I get to play it quite regularly 👍 the work that's been carried out over the last couple of years have really helped the course I think. The PXG is too fussy for me but they are stunning value (if £355 can be value). PING, a few of my friends have moved into the 425 and one of them (Corrine Binks/Golfing Princess) vlogged her fit at TourX Golf with Nick and that along with an ACCRA shaft has made a huge difference to her driving in both dispersion and length. Callaway (I have an old Epic myself) needs tinkering with to get the weighting right for you and your swing. However, you know what the real issue with them all was Paul??? You'd had no breakfast, I think you may have mentioned it 😉😉😉 Nice show again, great info and content on drivers which club golfers will actually play 👍
