    I sold my Gen 2 and bought the Gen 4 PXG 0811 X driver and took it to the range and course today. I was surprised how much better the Gen 4 is compared to the Gen 2. I can't say that it is longer with certainty because I had no ball monitor, but it did seem longer. It was certainly more consistent with better shot dispersion. I did order it with a 45" shaft whereas the Gen 2 was 45.5" so that helps accuracy. I was hitting with the middle of the sweet spot regularly, and that will give you more distance than a mishit with a longer shaft. It is 9* driver and I left the heaviest adjustment weight in the front, and I was surprised at the height I was getting - so no need to add loft. The Gen 4 head is 5 grams lighter than the Gen 2 and this is another factor that may be giving me more distance - lighter head can give you more swing speed. Lastly, I am using a counterbalanced shaft - Even Flow Riptide CB 60 gram and that can also increase ball speed. In summary, longer, straighter and the sound is good too.

    This fitting example was great. I need to tweak the same driver. With regard to the rollout, it looks like you are using GC Quad. Shots that hit the green seem to land really soft and that may have inadvertently lowered the total distance numbers. I'll bet if you moved that green back, the rollout would have been more. The ball didn't seem to have more height on it and change in backspin was minimal. Awesome stuff here. Just stumbled onto your channel. Hitting subscribe now.

    Bought a new one for $200. Also got 2 7.5 g weights and a 10 and 5. Should be enough to get anything i need.
    I have it set up for the big draw, but that may be too much. I don't need that much correction. I have a big fade (20 yards), but super consistent. If i can get 10 yards with low spin thats perfect.
    With the long clubs very few pros play a straight ball. We want that 1 way miss.

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  Год назад

      Great question none, at least from this fitting went. The customer needed weight. In regard to loft sleeves, they help but the single axis sleeves like ping, Taylormade,Cobra and PXG it’s always a double whammy you can’t just affect loft without also altering the lie angle. With that said Callaway and Titleist has the two best loft sleeves on the market…

Stock weights are 2 71/2 gr and a 1 21/2… got both 71/2 in heel and toe and 21/2 in rear, it’s good but I think it can be better. Fitter I worked with was not very helpful… would like to add more mass but with only 3 ports, don’t know how much weight and where to put it… my miss is also a little right would like a right to left… any advice would be greatly appreciated. • @SwingFit

      So you will likely need to order a 12.5 and a 15 gram weight to fully see the benefit. But in the mean time here would be my suggestion. Move one of the 7.5 to the back and try it to see if it helps if it makes it worse than swap the 2.5 to the other side and retest. So basically you want the lightest weight in either the toe or heel. If this doesn’t work either than you don’t have enough weight and this is where a 10 or 15 would be a good option. And you would just replace one of the 7.5 weights with a heavier one. Hope this helps.

    So basically the finished product was an extra 2.5 grams in the toe vs what the customer brought in? My question would be...you think that toe weight would of made his right side miss a touch worse, but actually helped him draw it- how come? Was it just because the extra weight helped his timing and close the face and find the center contact or am I missing something?

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 года назад +2

      Your spot on, sometimes I’ll have customers who will have a draw biased driver but can never draw the ball and as soon as I move the weight to the toe they all of a sudden can feel the mass and release the clubhead when they need to. It’s really crazy how it works out that way, and it’s just a testament that we all respond to feel and weight just a little different. Thanks for posing the question.

      Having a driver with weights in the toe are could help you keep the face open for sure the other thing is perhaps a little heavier swingweight could also help as it would also slow down the rate of rotation as well… but if I were to guess this likely just may come down to the top half of your body just outracing the bottom as this would be the number one thing that I will see that impacts most of my customers, so here just make sure the lower half is rotating to the target first then let the upper half follow…

Keep the lead tape as the fitter would be able to weigh it to determine how much HM they need to add in the toe area.

    Any ideas of what I can do

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 года назад

      So couple of quick questions for you, what was the shaft you had in the proto, and do you remember how you had the weights configured in the bottom? One other note is when you choke down you actually make the SwingWeight lighter, but if it actually made it a little better then I’m going to suspect that the affect of making the club shorter was attributed to the lie angle becoming flatter. Have you also played around with the loft sleeve on this one just yet, if not I would try flipping the hosel 180 degrees from standard as this is Std loft -3 lie angle. Then I would try the little minus as that would open up the face a hair and also give you 2.5 degrees of lie flatness

      Since I am short I already play in 3 degrees flat. In my proto I got my best results with no weights and plus 1.5 on 9 degree head with 46 in Diamona black s 60
      The gen 4 was set up with the same no weights and same 46" shaft and 3 degrees flat for most open face. I get better hits chocking up not down on the grip to add swing weight. I tried adding 15 gm weight to front to and to rear but it only seemed worse.. I do swing in to out but the light head weight I causing me to flip the club. I tried 3 two inche pieces of lead tape near to toe and it did help but I didn't really want lead tape on a new driver. I definitely like the gen 4 sound and it seems to have a larger sweet spot. I tried even going 1.5 degrees on loft but that didn't help a closing face. Only opening face at address seems to work but it's hard to be consistent getting the same set up each drive.

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  2 года назад +1

      If you spend a little time dialing in the weights it is a great driver. So you will need to get a weight pack and the ones they give you just won’t cut the mustard. Just remember put heavy weight in front of you need to bring launch and spin down, put it in the back for a little more forgiveness, and use the heel and toe weights to dial in curvature. Heavy weight in heel doesn’t always guarantee a draw, so if you try it here and see the opposite then swap the weight to the toe to se rid it’s better or worse. Hope this helped.

    What is the difference between the PXG 0811X and PXG 0811X+, and how do you know which one you should look at?

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 года назад +1

      + version is the more forgiving of the two drivers, it’s also designed for someone who has a tendency to hit up on the ball, and it will also generate a little more spin because it has a little more loft. So swingspeeds under 100 would likely be a good candidate for the + version. Whereas Swingspeeds north of 100 would be better suited for the lower lofted version. The weights in the driver simply allow you to fine tune the cg location to dial it in to match exactly what your delivery needs.
