Great content. I would love to see you do the same, using the exact same clubs, but with a 20+ handicapper. That would give a much better idea of the forgiveness of the clubs.
That Sir, was the best video that I've ever seen. You got another persons perspective of doing up a bag of clubs that are really easy to hit and get good distance. You stepped up to go out of the box and gave him clubs that he was not expecting to do what they did. This type of thinking could speed up the game and make it more enjoyable. Just get them to swallow their pride. I'm 71 yrs young and been playing golf most of my life. I would be blessed to be your average golfer and do your little test. Being from Nova Scotia, Canada it would be one heck of a trip. handicap 20.
I actually have a 9 wood in my bag. I absolutely love it and I’ve let other people hit with it and they love it more than hybrids as well. The 9 wood is one of the most underrated clubs in my opinion. So great to use.
I am 33 years old, I have been golfing for the past 2 seasons in Québec. No lessons yet, I have made my 10 first birdies last summer and I play in the 90's. Excellent, different & very helpful video. I was particularly impressed with the professional golfer trying clubs for the first time ,using a reduced swing speed & getting great strikes .You make a great pair & obviously getting on well with each other. For the average golfer there were many REALLY HELPFUL WAYS TO IMPROVE. THIS WAS ONE OF YOUR VERY BEST VIDEOS. MANY THANKS. I will NOT be challenging Lewis to a match off scratch. He is a great golfer with the ability to really help the club golfer. Also a friendly, genuine guy.
Excited by the potential of lessons and trying clubs with both you and Lou. Sounds like a great idea. What a fantastic video for us amateurs. Cheers both.
Really interesting and enjoyable video Andy. I have experimented with a 9 wood and lofted hybrids too. I'd be really interested in the testing day. Shout out to Lou. Like the way he's open to different approaches to the game.
I had my present clubs 10yrs..having my first ever club fitting in march at Ping Gainsbourgh , thanks to your reviews and advice will defiantly be trying high hybrids , 9 wood etc. Am also keen on trying clubs, testing etc sounds like a fun day out.
Thanks for posting Andy, I really liked this as it was very interesting to get Lou's reaction as a pro to these types of clubs. His initial reaction to the 9 wood and his surprise to it's performance was very nice to see. Keep it up Andy!
It would be great to join you guys for a couple of days Andy. Am 65 yrs young, 16 HCP, love the channel. I live in Portugal (near Lisbon) so if this doesn’t work out I’d happily join you on warm weather testing over here! Footnote: based on your video my wife and I went to Madeira and played Santo da Serra - fabulous!)
I’ve been using a Ping G425 7 wood and 5 hybrid for a year. Much easier to hit than a 4&5 iron especially if you drifted into the rough. Highly recommend I’m even thinking of getting the 6 hybrid.
Very good video Andy. It was good to hear what Lewis had to say about these more user friendly clubs, especially with DJ using 9 wood now. Well done really interesting and enjoyable ☺️
Good to hear different perspectives, like the variation the channel brings. I am interested in hearing, playing . . . . started looking at a Titleist 7W . . . . may try it out, felt nice enough
Great video, definitely considering looking into some higher lofted fairway woods in the future after this video. Always enjoy seeing Lewis on the channel, and I would love to hear more about the testing day! Checking the course out this weekend weather permitting!
Fabulous video! In years gone by I had a few different sets of Ping irons and woods. I ultimately went away from them because of the sound and feel. From what I saw in this video, seems like they have improved that issue at least with the woods.
Really enjoyed this video. I was most surprised with the stealth HD irons, Lou was still able to flight the ball which you don’t really expect with that type of iron.
Food for thought in this bag. I play 3,4,and 5 hybrids, 6 iron down in my bag. These ping fairway woods might be worth a look ? Great to get Louis opinion. I'd be interested in coming to Hollywell. Great viog as usual.
Great job Andy! What a great topic. I’m a 12 HCP and have a slower swing speed so I’m really considering the 9 wood, then 5,6,7 hybrids, then 8 or 9 iron down. I would have to focus on where these woods to hybrids to irons all gap in my bag. Could you test or do a video on if you think that the G430 45, 50, 54, 58 wedges or the Stealth HD set wedges would be more appropriate for the average golfer than pairing them with Vokeys or CBXs? Thanks so much and always love your videos!
I love your presentation and heart as always. As "the average golfer", continue to focus on this topic of forgiving clubs because it is most pertinent to us as viewers. Continue to explore variations on this topic and even comparing forgiving clubs within the same category's. I'm very interested in the stealth hb irons vs cobra t rail irons head-to-head. I'm in the market for that type of club, especially with lighter shaft weight. Thank you again. You are always my 1st watch after getting home from a hard days work 🙂
Would love to see you put a bag together with the each of the various brands. What would you put in the bag: Irons, Utility Iron, Hybrids, Woods, Driver and Golf Ball? Thx, Ric
Great review Andy and some interesting insights. I would like you now to put these into the hands of a 18-20 handicapper and get their feedback on these clubs.
My bag is starting to become very forgiving and easy to hit clubs. Driver-stealth 2 set at 6* 3 wd-13.5* 5 wd-18,5* 7 wd-22.5* 9 wd-27* 13 wd-31* P790 black irons 7-aw Big toe sw-56* Big toe lw-62* My next iron set will be super game improvement irons as long as they can be customized. Right now, I am still swinging the driver at 115-125 mph, so I am still a little too fast for those clubs.
I am very interested in what covers this full bag. saw you use a ping G430 max driver, 7 hybrid, and 9 wood. Stealth 3 wood and paradym 5 hybrid. What irons are also in this bag and do you use this bag as your current setup? These really look like great clubs and I could use all the forgiveness i can get these days.
Love what lou said about the 9 wood. It seemed easier to hit than a hybrid. And I've been thinking about trading my hybrid for a 9wood. I already carry a 3,5,7 wood. Ping has made these clubs great for seniors like me. I can play them out of the rough, fairway bunkers or anywhere really. I get higher flight and greater distance.
I just bought a 9 wood. I've been struggling with my middle irons and smashing my fairway woods, so it seems like a good idea. I have only hit it on the range so far and it was a really windy day, so I'm not sure what distance it will go, but it was flying high for sure. My 7 wood goes about 170-180. Hoping for 155-165 with the 9. I can't hit a hybrid for shit. I hook the crap out of them.
My game has been in the toilet the last few years. Since we had a baby 3 years ago and moved house last year, I'm not getting the practice in or lessons. I've had big drop offs in distance through the bag. So a day of testing, lessons and a game would be right up my street 👍🏻
As always a top class video! No surprise (as you’re always spot on with the opinions!) to see Lewis agree with you opinions! Conveniently I’m in the market for the top end of my bag and would love to have the chance to spend sometime with yourself and Lewis, although you would both batter me on the golf course!😂
Andy, I'm a 21 handicap playing 20 year old clubs. I'd love to play a couple of rounds with you both and maybe see how modern forgiving clubs might help my scoring. Current bag - Maxfli revolution black dot irons, TaylorMade Burner 860 driver
Andy, just in your opinion, in terms of most forgiving irons, would you put the Wilson Launchpads up there? Cause I'm really good with hybrids, especially my 3 hybrid and these caught my eye because of 1, their forgiveness and 2. Their look. I am honestly not bothered by it and it's more hybrid looking which I like. I bought the 7, 8 and 9 irons as that's what I play in irons. Should I play these or look at the Stealth HD's?
As crap hacker (18 handicapper) would I be better off getting that Ping #9 fairway wood as opposed to a #5 wood, same club? Was given the advice to get a 5 Wood. Any opinions would be welcome. Cheers from Australia (North Queensland).
Great video but I would like to point one thing out that sorta rubbed me the wrong way. Lewis mentions at the very start that he "fits these clubs all the time". Wouldn't it just be prudent for a fitter to have hit any club before ever fitting it for someone else? I would think that it would help them gain a better understanding of what the club is capable of and what it's weak points might be. Am I off base here?
Great video I would be very interested in a testing session / teaching season . Struggling at 15 handicap with too few GIR and too few fairways hit. 🏴

Great video again and I’m beginning to change my bag around and defo get clubs that are easier to hit. Far more clubs available now that can cover 170-200+ yds rather than trying to hit long irons. Not sure how far ur club is from us in NE Scotland but sounds like a great day or two out 😜🤣🤙

Great video and nice to see the equivalent equipment available. Don't get the hybrid version of a 7 iron tho??? ... a 7iron!!! Thats taking it too far.
I never could understand why average golfers eschew making things easier. I go out once a week to enjoy a day with my group of family and friends. I don't care what it looks like in the bag, it's all about the flight and getting it off the ground and not embarrassing oneself.
Some of us care more about tradition than getting the best score. I'm not a fan of using hybrids in replace of 5 irons down. Just feels weird even though it works.
Come on Andy as King of the Hy lofted fairway woods and their biggest advocate you have got to get off the fence is it the G430 or the Stealth 2 which is better or is it a case of if you're under 35 the Stealth and if you're over 40 it's the Ping ?

Those pings are going to take some beating this year I think Play ping irons , hated the 425 woods ect but these are a different ball game when my health / and swing gets back to where it should be bit later in the year going to give them a look
You've got my email Andy... Warn the owner of the sheep that I'm on the course and I'll hit whatever you want... Am in the market for some big bats so it would be helpful. Nice to see Lew out from behind the counter and hitting it smooth. I reckon he'd put it close to the flag if you gave him a bean tin on a stick!
I’d like to see a real average golfer test these - 18/20 handicapper. I tend to think a pro or low handicapper will be able to hit most clubs well and their requirements are different.
The average male handicap in the US is 14.2. Not many people who score in the mid 80's consistently will need this extreme level of game improvement. Atleast not if they aspire to improve their game. I think too many people get tricked into thinking they need this kind of super game improvement club and it makes it hard to get any better. Just my opinion.
I'm not talking about the damned 7 and 9 wood! I'm talking about the gigantic, ugly super game improvement irons and the draw biased driver. Oh, and just because Dustin Johnson has something in his bag doesnt mean we all should. A lot of people have a hard time with fairway woods and for others they simply fly way too high.
Expectation vs actual results hinders players in wanting to switch to more forgiving clubs. They hit 1 out of 10 great shot with their 5 iron thus validating their need to not invest in a piece of equipment.
Great content. I would love to see you do the same, using the exact same clubs, but with a 20+ handicapper. That would give a much better idea of the forgiveness of the clubs.

Nice to see Lew out from behind the counter and hitting it smooth. I reckon he'd put it close to the flag if you gave him a bean tin on a stick!
Next weeks review is the bean can on a stick so we will see
Why is video quality offline? Not tech savvy
Not sure what you mean?
You're describing my bag except I've mixed 410's and 425's.
Kevin from Kevin & Perry meets Holly Johnson.
Why is nobody talking about the random sheep 🐑 on the fairway 😂
Hi Andy I’d be interested doing some stuff with yourself and Lewis
I’d like to see a real average golfer test these - 18/20 handicapper. I tend to think a pro or low handicapper will be able to hit most clubs well and their requirements are different.
The average male handicap in the US is 14.2. Not many people who score in the mid 80's consistently will need this extreme level of game improvement. Atleast not if they aspire to improve their game. I think too many people get tricked into thinking they need this kind of super game improvement club and it makes it hard to get any better. Just my opinion.
So you think Dustin Johnson needs extreme levels of GI? He has gamed a 7 and 9 wood in recent months?
I'm not talking about the damned 7 and 9 wood! I'm talking about the gigantic, ugly super game improvement irons and the draw biased driver. Oh, and just because Dustin Johnson has something in his bag doesnt mean we all should. A lot of people have a hard time with fairway woods and for others they simply fly way too high.
Expectation vs actual results hinders players in wanting to switch to more forgiving clubs. They hit 1 out of 10 great shot with their 5 iron thus validating their need to not invest in a piece of equipment.
😂👏
I am very interested Andy
I hit my 9 wood way better than a hybrid
I would cancel anything to attend.
More details soon Mike thxs
Not even watched the video, bet there's loads of 5, 7 and 9 woods in it though
