The Camry should be a PHEV with the Electric Motor Powering the rear wheels and the ICE powering the front wheels.
The PHEV is a logical solution for transitioning to full electric since it doesn't require gasoline to charge its batteries. Would work great if the car could run a hundred kilometres in pure EV mode, which would be sufficient for city commutes and the ICE for longer distances.
I'd definitely get a PHEV Camry (with RWD electric motor) if it is priced as the same as this Camry. It would be a win-win-win situation for enthusiastic driving, Climate and convincing ones family :p
